However, I am using this to extend my WiFi to the back of my apartment where my work office is. The signal drops constantly making work meetings almost impossible. It's too late to return this and I spent a decent amount of money of this product for it to not work well. Disappointed.

It is best to place the extender in between the router and the area that you want to cover. However, it should get at least three WiFi bars from the router so it can get a better connection and will perform properly. Keeping the firmware updated will also help to optimize the device.
