  • Key Specs
    • Wi-Fi Speed: 1.9 gigabits per second (The maximum rate at which data is transferred between a network device and wireless router.)
    • Wireless Standard: AC, N (The wireless networking protocol used by the device. Each iteration of the protocol is based on the 802.11 standard developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standards Association. Denoted by letters following 802.11 (802.11a, 802.11ac, etc.), each version, published in alphabetical order, encompasses all previous versions.)
    • Wi-Fi Range: 10000 square feet (The device will provide a Wi-Fi connection to this approximate area.)
    • Form Factor: Plug-in (The size, arrangement, and physical configuration of the product.)
    • Band Technology: Dual (Refers to the number of frequency bands used to wirelessly transmit an internet signal. For example, dual-band devices may use one 2.4 and one 5 GHz band, while tri-band devices may use one 2.4 and two 5 GHz bands. Multiple bands also provide more flexibility for designating connected devices to specific band use.)
    • Frequency Band: 2.4 GHz, 5.0 GHz (Bands may be grouped into categories such as low- and high-band VHF (Very High Frequency), low- and high-band UHF (Ultra High Frequency), or certain frequency channels (measured in MHz or GHz). Generally, higher frequencies transmit information faster but have shorter range than lower frequencies.)
    • Antenna Type: Internal
    • Number of LAN Ports: 1 (Number of devices able to be connected to the Local Area Network (LAN). LAN ports allow wired connections to other networking devices (wireless access points, range extenders, etc.) in order to share the internet connection received through a WAN port.)
    • Wireless Networking Standard: Wi-Fi 5 (The wireless networking standard used by the device. Each iteration of the standard developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance corresponds to an existing IEEE 802.11 protocol; for example, standard 802.11ac (or AC) is termed Wi-Fi 5. Refers specifically to the standard the device is designed to use, but ultimately determines product interoperability and backward compatibility including previous versions.)

Q: Does the range extender generate a different SSID that must be joined or does it "mesh" host routers SSID?

A: If I understand your question correctly, it will do both. You can set it up to clone your router's SSID for seamless transitions and range extension, or you can set it up as a totally separate access point (with its own SSID and network name). Hope this helps!

Q: What is the maximum distance away from the modem that this repeater will boost a satellite internet service?

A: Hi, DEEDEE. This range extender (RE7000) is capable to increase your wireless range up to 10,000 square feet. However, thick walls, metal objects, appliances, and mirrors will cause interference that will affect the performance of your device. Q: Is the Linksys AC1900 compatible with a Westell Router Modem 7500?

A: While yes it is compatible with the Westell Router Modem 7500 you wouldn't receive many of the benefits of the range extender because the router modem you have is a very dated Wireless-G model. This Range Extender is two generations forward and may not fix your range problems. I would recommend a newer router in its place because those will mostly likely solve your issues, and at this price range you can get a very substantial router that will offer a significantly better solution. I will include a couple of recommendations in its place.

Q: My router is located, on the first floor, in the southeast corner, of a 2200 square foot, two story home. Can I plug this in on the upstairs landing to boost the internet on the second floor?

A: Based on my needs, I placed the extender on the second floor of my townhouse. I needed the push from the extender to provide more broadband access to the third floor.

Q: will this wi-fi boost my signal to my ps4 i have AT&T U-verse cisco . keep losing or week signal late at night when no one is using any wi-fi and in the afternoon when no one but me r home ???

A: Yes definitely - just make sure you extend the 2.4GHz network (unless you have a new PS4 Slim/Pro that supports the 5Ghz network). The key point is that you have to install the extender not where the PS4 is but somewhere in the middle between the PS4 and the main router - so this device acts as a 'half-way' repeater. You still need to have a good signal to the repeater from the main wifi for it to carry onto the PS4 but then the PS4 should connect to this without any problems,

Q: Hello, I am having bandwidth problems with my wifi routers. Both the base and the extender give only 24Mbs speed while a direct connect get 94Mbs. How can I speed up my wifi access?

A: Usually the speed will drop as you get farther from your base unit , you might try locating the extender closer to the base unit. The speed is directly proportional to the signal level. You should look into changing out your wifi units for newer units with higher speeds .

Q: I live in an apartment building. I receive a very strong signal in my bathroom above the apartment office and have permission to use it. Do I need to connect to the building's router? I already know the name and password of the link.

A: If I understand your question, all you have to do is select the name of the WiFi and when it asked you for the password, enter it. That is all you need to do to connect and use the strong WiFi you are experiencing...
