Posted .Hi, Bill,
The location of the range extender and the type of router that you're using are just a few of the factors that can affect its performance. We can try to check if the RE7000 is in the right spot as this is equipped with the Spot Finder feature that helps find the optimal location of the unit.

Adds nothing of value to the home
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a stupid waste of time this purchase was. I bought this for the other side of the house where the Wi-fi doesn't reach. So we had one goal in mind: extend the Wi-fi. Tried setting up via a LAN cable from our main router. I got a signal indicating we had connected but the extender could never connect us to actual websites. Tried to reset to factory settings and use it as a standard extender. The extender doesn't reset period. I've tried tapping the reset button, holding it briefly, holding it until the green light comes back. Nothing. Useless. Returning ASAP.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item is a complete hunk of junk an extremely expensive outlet cover that does absolutely nothing. I sat 4 feet from my wifi router and followed the instructions to the letter about 5 times and it wouldn't connect It showed up on my pc but once i connected to it turns out it had no connection so i reset it and then unplugged it for a few minutes, rinse and repeated the process several times and it did nothing, whats worse is i tore the box open trying to get the dang thing out of the box and since i threw the box away the guys at the best buy i purchased from wouldn't accept a return so i have a hundred plus dollar paperweight

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this to extend our network. It would not hook up to our network. We ended up returning it and getting a WiFi mesh system that works way better. I do not recommend this extender.

The device I've always been missing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally can not believe that a small box like this can work so well. I have a Linksys 802.11ac router in my house, about 40 feet away from my shed. I plugged this range extender into my shed and I can connect to my wifi about 300 feet from my shed. Yes, there's supposed to be two zeros there. I can stand BEHIND my neighbor's house an acre away and still connect to my wifi! Now granted, at that distance that's only a 4mbps download speed but it still works! My entire backyard and driveway have wireless N connection now. The AC drops off after about 150 feet, which is still fine with me. While you're setting it up (which is extremely easy; you just connect to your extender like it's a wifi network and it guides you through it) it tells you if you're within a good range for it to work optimally. I put it *just* outside the optimal range and it still works flawlessly. This thing blew me away.

Did not provide additional range as wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This extender may be fine for interior gaps in coverage but purchased to extend signal to outside patio area as noted in spec literature, unit set up reasonable well but did not extend range as wanted especially for cost; sorry but returned without success.

Posted .Hi, Alan,
The Range Extender should be able to extend the range of your wireless network up to 10,000 sq ft. But, we understand where you're coming from. We could have tried to relocate the extender to maximize its wireless coverage and made sure that its firmware is up to date.

Fair
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works alright. But this particular item has to be very close to the router in order to pick up the wifi signal. Which then defeats the purpose of having this extender because the signals have the same radius.

Posted .Hi, shawnnate1213,
You may need to check locations with less wireless interference. Updating the firmware will also help to improve the overall performance of the extender. Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found this to be the most difficult product to connect to. I contacted Best Buy and Linksys (and received no help) and spent hours on my own trying to get it connected to my WiFi. I finally just ended up returning it.

If this is for initial setup of the Linksys RE7000, then a reset before configuring the unit would help us isolate the concern. Allow us to investigate on your case by sharing with us your case number/phone number and the link of this review, for reference.

Easy to setup, works well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This extender is very easy to setup via the website they provide and doesn't take long to get this up and running. One of the best features I like with this is that you can see if the extender signal strength is too close or too far. This could be good or bad depending on how many walls are in your house, which could cause an issue. I was able to get this setup in as little as 10 minutes, but spend more time trying to get the perfect signal strength. The extender does have an Ethernet port built in that you can plug a single device into. There is also a button on the side to press to get it connected to your router. This device pairs well with routers that have MU-MIMO standards and provides faster access to Wi-Fi. To get the most out of this, having this type of router is recommended. It will still work well without a router of this type, but it will help.

Definitely did its job
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was very easy to set up. Our router is in our basement, and before, if you step even a foot outside our back door, the WiFi signal was nearly gone. Once this was installed in our upstairs level, we can walk 30 feet out of our back door and still have a good enough signal to play high quality YouTube videos with no problems. Only issue I noticed, in other parts of our house, where WiFi was once strong, it is now slower

Didn’t improve the signal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up returning the product to Best Buy. We have Xfinity-Comcast and this thing didn’t help at all. It’s possible that with fiber it might work better but with coaxial the internet I don’t recommend it.

Posted .Hi, louisthehunter72,
It's possible that your RE7000 Extender is not properly relocated causing Wi-Fi disconnects from your home network. We recommend taking advantage of its Spot Finder Technology feature to guide you where to position your device for a stable and optimal performance.
