I returned this item. Despite being very close to my router it could not complete setup due to poor signal. When I respond loved the issue and moved it to the desired location it had a weak signal.

Easy set up and works out of the box. Then the problems begin. Daily drops, constant need to reboot, been on with tech support for 3 days. Have handled every trouble shoot and change but still does not work properly.

The connection to my Linksys wireless router was seamless. However, I tried toggling between 2ghz and 5ghz but the internet would drop in and out every time. The problem would correct itself as soon as I unplugged the repeater. I have great internet speed but this repeater just didn't work for me. The last repeater I had, an older version of this one, worked great and last about 4 years before it crapped out. Unfortunately this model is not as user friendly and ended up being a waste of my money.

Do you wish you had a Wi-Fi signal in distant parts of your home and around the property? I have a detached workshop behind the house and have been using a low budget range extender to boost Wi-Fi signal with inconsistent results. Corners of the basement, patio and yard have very little or no signal at all. Further, setup instructions were very confusing to follow. The extender has only 2.4 GHz band and total absence of customer service. Along comes the Linksys RE7000 range extender. Linksys offered me a free sample extender if I gave it a test run and honest review to Best Buy. I use a Linksys router so the RE7000 is a nice compliment but their literature states the extender will work with any router. In a nutshell, the RE7000 solved all my range problems with power to spare. Plus it extends both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. What a difference an upgrade makes! My shop is 65 feet from the router inside the house. The signal travels through two full interior/exterior walls, patio furniture, shrubs etc. to get to me. My old budget extender managed 22 Mbps or less in the 2.4 GHz range only. With the Linksys, the link speed is currently 433 Mbps @ 5 GHz! Pandora locks in and begins play in a flash! I walked to the edge of the property (another 200 feet) with my phone and registered 222Mbps at 5 GHz. Believe me, this is a vast improvement over my old extender - period! Linksys uses technology (Spot Finder) that helps users find the signals "sweet spot" for the best improvement. And with MU-MIMO technology, every device hooked to the extender is fast and consistent. It all works very, very well. Is it hard to hook up? Compared to other router related equipment, the Linksys extender connection was a breeze. Push Button Connect is just that easy. A few simple steps and this Linksys extender suddenly became my best friend. It also has an Ethernet port for a wire to your favorite gizmo, like my shop laptop. Without hesitation I recommend this amazing little device to anyone who needs more range and a better quality signal. It has exceeded my expectation. The addition of 5GHz outside the house has improved my internet experience. What a difference!

I had high Hope's for this product, only tut o be disappointed. The instructions were easy enough, but it did nothing to enhance wifi coverage. In the box it goes!

I needed help to set this up. When i phoned for Total Connect service which i am an active member the technician hung up the phone without helping me and did not call me back. I returned the item!

Didn’t provide any extra coverage than I already had. Constantly went in and out even when I had it a few feet from the router.

This this is pretty much invisible once set up. I highly recommend this product, especially if paired with a similarly advanced router (MU-MIMO). Set up is a breeze, you can use WPS or you can connect to its built in Wi-Fi to connect it to a network. There are many options on set up but if you have a similarly matched router, the extended pretty much acts like it doesn't exist. By that I mean there will be no extra SSID listing, it is just completely transparent to the user. It is somewhat bulky so make sure you have some free space around the outlet as it protrudes a few inches from the wall. This product will extend your Wi-Fi on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands and supports features of some of the most advanced routers. A must buy if you are looking for a high end extender.

For the price, not worth it. Connection spotty. Have to reset all the time. There are others on the market far less money and better quality with easy to use functionality.

Somehow every time I called Linksys I happened to call during “higher than normal call volume” time. I longest I waited was 25 min and was never able to talk to anyone. My wireless router is the same brand and compatible with this repeater but somehow my network disconnected itself about every 5 min. Therefore any time I turned on a TV I had to reset the network settings on it or order to use the WiFi. This was my experience and since I could not get it to work I returned it but Best Buy has 14 day return policy so they only gave me store credit. Not an enjoyable experience overall.

Very easy to use, unboxed, plugged in and used WPS done. For those of you looking to tinker with it the user interface will allow more custom settings. Both turn key operators and tech-e's should be satisfied with the range extenders capabilities. I didn't use any scientific methods to test signal strength improvement or speed just relied on my phones signal strength indicator and streaming video and saw an improvement in my basement. In order for the wireless option to deliver expected results you need a good solid network, otherwise you will experience lag. I decided to try the ethernet connection and it was even better, added more speed and range to the wi-fi network. Overall it was a worthy addition to my network.

this really didn't work. It did not increase speed more than 20 mBps over the router alone speed. I returned it. Set up was easy.

Couldn't get the extender to see my network. Could be a number of reasons, some the device, some not, but right now, I'm not pleased and I've stopped trying. When the frustration fades, I'll try again.

This device will create 2 new networks as extensions to your wifi. I thought it would simply strengthen my normal network. The new networks are fond of blacking out leading to me signing into my normal network. Honestly this thing is pretty much junk taking up an outlet. Not really worth $99. The headache and unreliability makes it a $25 worthy.

Was hopeful for this to help the extend the WiFi in our residence but it did not help with signal strength and still encountered the same issue. Returned this item.

Although I have tried the unit will not activate. Even going to the website does me no good. Keep getting failed indication.

haven't really noticed much difference in my Wi-Fi connection, only had it a month. took several attempts before it was synced to my router (process was frustrating)

I bought this to extend the range of my wifi signal because I am working from home. It was “easy” to set up but it kept loosing signal causing my laptop to disconnect from the wifi network. The dual band repeater never worked for more than a couple of hours at a time. Best Buy didn’t help their customers with the return policy due to Covid-19. My return date has passed and it says this product is not returnable. I’m stuck with a $100 piece of crap that doesn’t work. I did buy the 2 year warranty on it.

This repeater was supposed to be easy to add to an existing Linksys AC router, but it ended up not working well and not extending the existing SSID. It was returned.
