Received this product and within 5 minutes was able to easily set it up for both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands very quickly using the WPS enabled setup. Used an app on my smart phone to test the difference in speed in the area of my house that previously had the weakest WiFi signal. In my tests, it boosted the throughput to nearly my maximum of 25Gb/s from my provider whereas before, with the router I would get around 10Gb/s The only real problem is that it seemed to disable my DirecTV receiver and the only solution I've found so far for that is to unplug the range extender and reboot my DirecTV STB. For that reason, I'm giving it 3 stars. It functions well, but the interference is a real problem. I'm currently working with Linksys Tech support in hopes of resolving the issue.

      Hi, DoubleJ,

Your feedback for the Linksys RE7000 is greatly appreciated. We're glad that you've successfully connected the range extender on your network. It's kinda strange though that your DirecTV receiver doesn't work with it. Allow us to get more details about this challenge so we can properly sort it out. Is your DirecTV receiver directly wired to the router? Did you get any error message while trying to get access to it with your RE7000 being connected? Please send us the details at LinksysCares@linksys.com. Kindly include your contact information and the link to this review.

We look forward to further assist you.

      Hi, Happy,

We can stabilize the connection coming from the unit by making sure that it is placed on a spot away from physical obstructions, getting at least 3 signal bars, running the latest firmware, and the connection behind the main router is stable. Our Escalation Engineers would love to assist and aid in experiencing the best out of the unit. Please drop us an email with your contact details and the link to this review for reference at LinksysCares@linksys.com.

      Hello, nobody,

Our Linksys RE7000 covers a Wi-Fi range up to 2,500 sq ft and it will help you extend your Wi-Fi to hard-to-reach locations in your home such as your backyard, garage, or bedroom so you can get Wi-Fi to smartphones, tablets, and laptops. However, we must consider an obstruction that hinders the connection such as thick walls and glass windows. You may try relocating the extender in between the area without wireless network and the router. We can have our Escalation Engineers help you further by sharing it through email at LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact info and the link of this review, for our reference.

      Regards,

      Hi Nick,

It is possible that the range extender is not placed in the optimal position for the signal to reach the location where you want to extend the signal. We can have our Second Level Technicians assist you in figuring out the best place for your range extender.
Just send us your contact details at LinksysCares@linksys.com so that we can escalate your case. Don't forget to include the link to this post as a reference.

      Hi, Bobgorshe,

Several factors may have caused the extender not to connect as the set up should just be a breeze. If you’ve already tried resetting the extender and moving it closer to the router during setup, then we’ll have our Escalation Engineers investigate this further. Just email us at LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact information and a link to this review as our reference.

Got the Linksys Max Stream WiFi extender and found that it was a breeze to set up. I've owned an LCD WiFi extender and one from net gear as well but this was easy and works great. I would highly recommend this if you're looking to extend your WiFi coverage around your home.

Super Easy Setup and Eliminates Dead Spots

Super Easy Setup and Eliminates Dead Spots. Out of the box and up and running in less than 20 minutes. Extended the range outside to my deck, and I had tried other range extenders before that didn't make it out there well enough to be useful. (Brick House with E Glass windows) The Internet speed did drop from what's inside but still very acceptable for us :) (50mb inside and 30mb on the deck) There was a bit of confusion for the MY Q internet interface for the garage door opener and a few lights but a reboot of the MY Q took care of that.

Tested this extensively the past 4 weeks with a Linksys EA9500 router. It paired extremely easy and quick via the WPS button. The maximum range I could place this extended from the EA9500 in order to get full wifi signals was approximately 50 feet. Another great addition is that you can run a CAT cable from this extended to your device if you want a hard wired option wherever you plug this extender in. I haven't encountered any issues with this and would highly recommend this to any one looking to extend or complement their existing wifi.

The Linksys router was very easy to setup. Although the button on the side didn't detect the router right away the instructions were clear and directed me to an extender setup webpage that worked flawlessly. I connected the extender close to the router and then moved it downstairs and still have a very strong connection based on their easy to use range monitor. Since installing it videos no longer lag at all on any device used downstairs. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a solid range extender for your home

Powerful Signal everywhere at lightning Speeds

I was Given this Item for a honest review, and i must say i am quite impressed. in my testing I had the opportunity to take this on Vacation to Costa Rica with me and it was a Smart move on my part. i hooked up to the hotels wifi and made my own extended Network with the RE7000, which i could run Chromecast on and have a powerful signal all the way down to the pool. I also used this at my home and while i have a large 3700 sq foot 2 story house i have problems with wifi reaching out into the yard and separate garage area. once i plugged this baby in i had signal everywhere and Blazing fast speeds, with NO buffering!!! in the Box is one Range extender (see pic) its as simple as, plug it in locate the wifi extender with a Computer or smart phone and follow the prompts. you can use this as an extender or Wireless Access Point. you can name your extenders network what every you want. it also can connect to ANY router but especially works well with the Linksys family of routers. Pros: easy setup (takes less than 3 minutes), very very powerful, fastest speeds ive seen yet on a range extender, The Ethernet plug underneath can be used to plug into a Gaming console and give you wired speeds on wifi . Cons: Needs a way to get past the splash screen to connect at some hotels
