Obstructions such as thick walls may one of the reason for a connection concern. Thus, we must make sure that the Linksys RE7000 is placed in between the router and the area without Wi-Fi and it should line in sight with the router. The Linksys RE7000 range extender is designed to be connected to a router to extend the range of your wireless network, and the router should be connected to the modem subscribed from an ISP. This device is not designed to work using only your data. The Linksys RE7000 WiFi Extender can extend the WiFi range up to 2,500 sq ft and deliver WiFi speeds of 300 Mbps (2.4GHz) + 1733 Mbps (5GHz). We could have tried to update the extenders firmware as it could help improve its performance.

Sleek WiFi Extender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was simple using the WPS button on my router to sync to the range extender and connecting to the extended wifi used the same password as my original network. The Spot Finder tool was helpful finding the perfect plug-in to maximize my range and speed. Overall, I experienced about a 20% loss in download speed, but no loss in uploads. The connection did have sporadic slowdowns in speeds dropping from my regular 65-80 Mbps to 2-12 Mbps, so I relocated the extender to avoid more interference whole maintaining the most range. Now I have great coverage for my upstairs bedroom and in the front yard, extending my coverage to cover the entire house and then some!

I have a wireless dead spot in my bedroom and using my iPhone, iPad or the Apple TV while in bed had become frustrating with constant buffering and page not loading etc... In about 6 minutes I had the extender plugged in to the wall by my router/gateway, paired it using WPS, confirmed I saw the "-EXT" next to my network SSID, unplugged the unit, plugged it in to the hallway outside my bedroom, connected my iPad and AppleTV to the new network, and BAM...NO MORE BUFFERING!
