Great extender and easy to install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've own both the RE1000 and the RE2000, both are great products but the only problem I had with them was the installation process, just not very friendly for your basic user which I'm not but when I recommend a product to friends and family members you want something easy to install. The RE7000 is very easy to install and manage, after getting my unit I purchased one for my sister and with little technical skills she was able to get it working in a few minutes. The extender gave great coverage on the second floor of my house and the performance is above any other extender I've own. Way to go Linksys.

Simple Setup - Great Extended Coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a split floor plan home with a centralized office location. Naturally, the best place for my ASUS RT-AC66R Wireless-AC1750 Router is my Office closet. This closet backs up to the secondary hallway where the bedrooms, garage and other livable spaces are located. Naturally centralized, one would expect blanket coverage to nearly the entire home - or at the very least minimal dead zones. And this is true- except for the far reaches. Our entertainment room is at one extreme, and the master bedroom at the opposite end. We had some dead spaces in the mixed use nook in the master bedroom as well as having old linksys wiring extensions in the entertainment room to boost the internet strength for our streaming needs. Most setups should simply include using the WPS setup and you should have your network extended in under 5 minutes (depending on how much time you spend reading the Quick Setup Guide). I chose to use the standard setup to test out the ease of use for those who don't have WPS available or enabled on their routers. I found the long-form setup to be exceptionally painless. If you use your smartphone to access the range extender when searching for the perfect place to repeat the signal, your mobile becomes the wifi signal equivalent to a stud-finder. You simply can't go wrong with finding the best possible location for your greatest available coverage. Should it be necessary, you can even turn on access point mode to connect a wired device onto the internet - say an older internet enabled TV or Blu-Ray player, a network printer or a desktop computer. Price may be a deterrent for some, but this is the right price point for this product. If you're going to invest in High Speed Internet Access (HSIA), you might as well have the tools to ensure you have access to that data pipeline every possible place you'll need it. Because of the location of this Wi-Fi Range Extender, I have effectively tripled my wi-fi coverage to even parts of my patio and yard where I can take in the nice cool autumn weather while working from home. It also extends my coverage poolside for some summer office hour lounging. The only thing I couldn't test was seamless roaming as it requires a Max-Stream Router - a point I may be rectifying in the near future. For more information on Seamless Roaming, check out www.linksys.com/seamless-roaming. Full disclosure: I work in technology full-time and push my tech toys to their limits. I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback. I will continue to push this device to it's assumed limitations and should I find any negatives, I will update this review. My current mood: Even if I hadn't received this sample to test, I would have purchased this unit to solve my wi-fi dead spots.

Perfect for my needs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great addition to my Linksys router. Installed in my basement family room it provides a needed wired port for my emotiva preamp/processor in my home theater. Also boosts wifi throughout my basement and beyond. Great for multilevel homes. Fast easy setup with wps.

wish it worked better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It kind of works but not as well as it should. The router came packaged in very simple packaging. No mess no fuss. The set up was extremely easy. Inside the box: Quick Start Guide Registration info Wi-Fi Range Extender Set Up: To set up the router it was super simple. Plug the extender in, halfway away from the router. Wait for the indicator light to com one go back to a laptop or mobile device, got to the website and connect. I selected to do the seamless roaming setup. It auto set the extender to the same name and password. I had a few deadspots in the house with the router and opted for a range extender to cover the dead spots. The extender gave a bit of single in the one dead spot but isn't a steady connect. When it does connect the single is very low and its still inside the house. It also doesn't always switch over as the seamless roaming is supposed to. The router i have is a seamless connect router as well and is supposed to work with the extender. The extender is supposed to extynd the range up to 10,000 sq ft. It's a great idea just wish it worked the way it is supposed to all the time with good single. As well as switch over as it supposed to. I would say if you have no coverage and need just a little it works but the signle strength is not as strong as it should be.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shop online regularly, buy so many products but first time ever writing a review. I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback. Let me start by saying thank you Linksys, the product was so easy to set up. My wifi always was so lagging and cut out while I'm in the back yard, now with this wifi range extender really makes a huge different. Now i can FaceTime my family back home in Thailand and don't have to be confined in the house. I would think it's a little pricey, but great product well worth the money to cover your whole household.

Great range, very easy install
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I live in a relative small apartment. That being said, I have never been able to get even wifi coverage throughout my entire apartment, mainly the bedroom. Now I get great coverage through out every room and never have to worry about losing signal.

Decent range extender and easy to setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this free product from Linksys in exchange for honest feedback. Setup was painless and took no more than 5 minutes. I was able to get it setup via the WPS feature on both the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. I used Spot Finder to make sure I was placing the extender in the sweet spot. This extender is linked to a WRT3200ACM router. Before connecting this extender, I was not able to get a full signal in my backyard. After connecting the extender, I now get a full signal. I did run jitter and latency tests and both were within acceptable range which was a shock. I use Cox Internet and have their 300/30 plan. I was able to get up to 270 on the range extender. Not bad at all. The only con I could see with the extender is that it messes up the network map and shows devices multiple times if they are connected to the range extender. For this reason, I give it 4 stars. Other than that, it's a decent product and does what it's built to do.

Easy to use and solved an issue for me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this unit paired to a Linksys EA-9500 Max-Stream 5400 Tri-band router. The pairing was extremely simple and took only a matter of minutes. I needed a wired connection in an upstairs room far away from where my modem and router are located and wanted to extend my wifi coverage to what had previously been a mystery "dead zone" in that same room. This little unit fulfilled both of these needs with ease. Streaming video over the new wired connection goes off without a hitch, my dead zone is completely gone, and I got the added benefit of gaining wifi coverage in my garage! I have had no problems with my mobile devices handing off between the router and the extender as I've heard others have had with different brands. The transitions are completely seamless with no noticeable lag or reduction in data transfer speed.

Works great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used this in a multi level home that sometimes had dead spots when it came to wifi. This helped eliminate that problem easily. Definitely recommend this to those that don't want to buy a new router but need a little more coverage.

Very Easy Setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was wanting an extender that would give me further range into my yard, and this one met my expectations. I have Fios with a wifi router that was provided to me by my internet provider. The setup was flawless and super easy.

Great AC Wi-Fi Extender for Large Homes
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paired this device with the Linksys EA9500 AC5400 and it was a match made in heaven. Setup was extremely easy using the "WPS" button on both the router and the extender. If your router has the "WPS" feature turned off, you can set it up using the Linksys browser setup process instead which is indicated in the easy setup guide found in the box. When testing, I did notice that range improved quite a bit when I placed the extender in the midway point from where the router was located to the room I was in. This is a great addition if you already have a newer "AC" router and are looking to expand your wireless range in your home. My only gripe is that I wish it was offered in black to match some of my other equipment but i won't knock a star for that. Overall great product!

Easy Device to Work With, Does as Advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a couple of false starts and misreading one instruction line the installation was quick, flawless and with a couple of plug ins at different locations in my network I was able to utilize the device as advertised. WPS setup makes it easy to link in the network. We have a large number of devices connected in our closed network and the device worked well with just a little juggling of addresses. The built in ethernet port works well and I was even able to attach an ethernet 5 port switch with some success.

great off the line, a pain afterwards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this extender because I've seldomly have had an issue with Linksys in the past. well, today is one of those times where Linksys failed me miserably. I purchased this extender because i live in a 2 story rental home built rather recently, so no problem with walls being too thick or anything like that, however, my ISP even with their "panoramic wifi" still get a dead spot upstairs on the other side of the house. So I looked into some extenders, my options were this one, or a TP link. I decided to go with the one I know. Well, lo and behold, I got the thing running for the first couple days, with incredible awesome speeds, and no complaints. FF a couple days, and i started getting spotty wifi on both my phone and laptop upstairs. both Apple. Then i figured it was an issue with Apple, and decided to start using Windows in a completely different laptop (It's an HP Omen, so it's not your run of the mill $200 cheap little thing,) and i was having the same issues. So i did a hard reset, set up the RE7000 again, and it started working again, with having to do a reset every week or so. I was fine, until one day about a month ago, I had to start doing a reset once a day... and now i'm up to twice a day. I've looked to see if it's an issue with the extender, and i've found that a lot of people are having this issue: great connectivity for the first few days, then it starts declining over time, and have to reset more and more often. because it's my 90 days past the return point at BB, I can't return it or exchange it. it hasn't been a year even, and i have to start shopping for another extender. rest assured that next time, i'm most likely going to go with TP link. This isn't just for my extender, I'm switching all the linksys products I have running in the practice i work for, being the IT director. Mind you, this is the biggest pediatric practice in all of Arizona, so even though Linksys may not hurt for my money, TP link i'm sure will see it as a gain.

Easy setup and works the way its supposed to
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was super quick and simple, and this has worked flawlessly ever since I plugged it in. ... Only issue was getting the initial "connection", the extender seemed to be too far away from my router, but in reality it wasn't that far at all. I did have a wall separating us, so that could've been the issue.... But once i got it connected, its been fine and has worked perfectly.

Finally an extender that works
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried a number of different ways to get my wifi signal stronger on my second floor since the wifi router is three floors below I get an okay signal but it can be hit an miss. What I liked about this extender is that it will also work as a wired access point. Since I have Cat6 run throughout the house it was as simple as plugging the extender into an outlet and the network cable into the extender. I did the wireless configuration on my iPhone web browser. Less than 5 minutes later I was able to connect my wireless devices without a problem. I now have AC speeds and a full signal. One suggestion is to name the wifi network something different from your main network primarily so you can more easily isolate problems should the arise.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally 5g throughout my house. Decent but not perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Linksys adapter has some great features. It is the latest wifi technology which makes it greatly compatible with my router. It's got good range but could be better. I get 60mbps at my modem but 44 at my extender. Still excellent. Will continue to use and would recommend. The only downfall is it's a bit weaker range

Great Wi-Fi Repeter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Linksys - RE7000 MAX-STREAM™ AC1900 Wireless-ac Dual Band Repeater with MU-MIMO last week. as a free sample from Linksys in exchange for your honest feedback. This addition to the Linksys family of Wi-Fi products was a timely addition for me. I use a Linksys EA6900 AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Dual-Band Router connected to an Ubee DBW32CB modem/router from TWC/Spectrum. Living in a Quad-level home, my Wi-Fi connections vary greatly. I added a Linksys RE1000 - 2.4G range extender 3 years ago with limited success. I then added an RE2000 - 2.4/5G dual-band range extender 2 years ago. While my coverage was much better, keeping all these "tools" to play nice together was a chore. Monthly reboots were the norm. Upon receiving this new RE7000 I removed both existing range extenders, reset my EA6900 router to 'factory' settings and followed the simple install procedure. I set it up as Wi-Fi using the _Ext extension. Both 2.4 and 5 GHz had to be connected to my wireless devices (phones, pads and laptop) so they would automatically shift as needed at any location within the house. While I had some minor issues using the 'extender' web pages on my iPhone, it worked well in Windows. The "Spot Finder" feature is a handy and interesting feature that is not described well in the documentation. It worked well on my laptop but not on my iPhone. The EA7000 works great, so far. Coverage is much better than my 2 old extenders.
