Also, I do loose a small bit of speed from my X1 platform when using the extender, not enough to notice for my purposes, but may make a difference for people who game or use for more than streaming movies and music.

I only have it hooked up to a smart clock in my bedroom (will be adding more devices later). Every day my smart clock says it is "connecting" because it lost the internet. It is rather frustrating. The extender is next to my Roku, which never loses internet, so I haven't switched it to the extender. I wouldn't buy this personally unless you have a Linksys router too. I have two separate connections and the Linksys only works sporadically, so I have to disconnect my phone and connect to the router. When it works, it is great. It just doesn't work all the time.

The Linksys RE7000 should be able to extend the coverage up to 2,000 sq. ft. You can try to relocate the extender using the Spot Finder feature to ensure the range extender is in the right spot. I bought this hoping to extend (strengthen) the wi-fi signal to prevent my work computer from loosing wi-fi. This device, so far, has done it's job.
