I have two of these at home one is 4 years old and working great. Needed to bring wi fi to a area in my house to work . I needed the internet and worked great no slow downs and no diconnecting problems . Works great with my LINKSYS EA9500 wireless router by making a mesh system. brought on sale.

My wife's desktop is on the second floor and our router is in the basement. Naturally her internet response was slow. This unit, placed on the second floor has boosted her response time dramatically. At the most, connect time is maybe two seconds. Setup was quick and easy.

Still working through with this. If you have an older router, it creates additional SSIDs which is not what I wanted. Moving to a mesh (or replacing my router with a Linksys to make this a mesh) is probaly a better option. As roaming with different SSIDs is not possible.

The repeater helps some but I am still iffy with signal on one side of the house. Still better than with the repeater. Ok product.

Despite two agents not being 100% certain if the device would suit my needs, their comments and reassurance was enough for me to buy the product. There has been no issues with wifi extension in my 100 + year old house with Cox service (which did NOT reach throughout my home as claimed.) Another confidence booster.

Bought it for my mother in law who is in an assisted living facility hoping it had enough juice to get her WiFi. It did not, but it was not the products fault.

Connection range is improved. However, I experience problems with ip addresses with windows 10 computers. I think the reported seamless roaming between these extenders and my Linksys EA9500 router is not seamless and therefore I have connection problems with some windows 10 pcs depending on whether they are connecting to the router or the extender... This is particularly evident with Asus computers. Consider mesh network rather than traditional router with these extenders.

      Hi,

As long as the computers support seamless roaming, switching between the main router and the extender should be smooth. If you can give us more details about the challenges that you are having, we can have our Escalation Engineers check it out.

Just send us your contact details at LinksysCares@linksys.com along with the link to this post for our reference.

We hope to hear from you soon.

      Regards,

      Thaddeus

Bought this router with the hope of extending WiFi more to the front yard and second floor. Range does extend, but the WiFi slows down 80% through this repeater. Even right next to the main router, the extender takes a 500mb/s signal and passes something less than 100mb/s. Disappointing performance.

      Hi, BigumDMV,

Try to powercycle the Linksys RE7000, and check the wired connection behind the extender. Let us know with its behaviour and your network setup over email at LinksysCares@linksys.com so we can have it checked with our Escalation Engineers. Send along your contact info and the link of this review, for our reference.

It extends your wifi, but do not expect faster speeds. Be warned that devices connected to this occasionally get kicked off.
