||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an issue with my internet being strong in my home office. Works well configured a access point
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have 3 of these and they work well in our house if we configure them as access points. We hard wire them to a switch which we have connected to our router. This works well for us for the situation in our home.

Works really well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use is as hardwired access point but its insane that it offers both features. Its an extwnder if you need it, or if you have an ethernet connection near y it will be its own access point. Great job and done well by Linksys.

Great Wi-Fi Extender
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup and use. I use this in the basement and it provides full Wi-Fi strength from the first floor router. Bought this from the Black Friday specials at half off so it was a great deal.

Solved my problem, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely can not get it to connect to my router using any method other than WPS. It will not connect to it if I try using WIFI along with the WIFI password, even after numerous resets. It did solve my Samsung TV's constantly dropping WIFI connection though. The TV is now hardwired to the repeater and there are never connectivity issues.

Posted .Hello,
We're glad you were able to install RE7000 on your network and it has solved your challenges towards connectivity. However, there may be certain settings needed to be adjusted so the extender can be set up through a wireless connection. Our Escalation Engineers would like to look into that further. Please email the link to this post and your contact details at [email protected].

Don’t taste your money.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t taste your money. Select a different extender and save yourself the headache. Disconnects for no reason at all. Does not stay connected with your router.

Very Poor Range and 50% Decrease in WiFi Speed
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 4,700 SF home that I am replacing my current DSL Internet that keeps having outages with a Wireless provider which will be over 8 times faster. My router is currently centrally located in the center of the house and provides a good signal everywhere. With the new service I will have to move my router to the back of the house where the wireless disc will need to be installed. I bought this Extender to place in the central location in anticipation that my basement TV and computer would not be able to get a signal from the router in the new location. The performance of this device is one of the most disappointing purchases that I have made lately. My Router is a Linksys EA6350 Dual Band Router and while it is considered a "Budget Router" it has worked flawlessly for several years. It has a WPA button and thought that installing the RE7000 Extender would take just a few minutes since they are from the same manufacturer. After 5 failed attempts I tried the Browser approach and I could never connect to the Linksys Extender Setup page with multiple attempts with both a desktop and my laptop sitting right next to the router and the extender. Finally, I plugged the extender into my laptop with an ethernet cable which is not even a method described in the user manual or quick setup instructions and I was finally able to access the browser setup page and proceeded to created both a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks and passwords. I then plugged the extender into my router with the ethernet cable and I was able to access those networks as an access point and then get into the extender settings through a browser. With my laptop still sitting right next to the router and the extender that was now plugged into the router, my speed test using the Netflicks Speed Test showed a 6 MBPS result when connected to my router's network and only 2.9 MBPS result when connected to the extender's network. I ran this test several times with the same results. My Centurylink DSL speed here in rural Wyoming is only 6 MBPS. Another reviewer here at Best Buy noticed the very same 50% reduction in speed compared to the router's speed. Worse yet, when I accessed the extender from my desktop in the back of the house approximately 55 feet from the extender and my router, I showed only 1 bar of signal strength compared to the full 3 bars from my router on a Windows 10 system. Even worse yet, when I tried to access the settings of the extender through my browser, the connection dropped and I could not even stay connected to Yahoo. This device has much less signal strength than my router and is useless for what I purchased it for. But here is the very good news. While I was ready to just through this device into the trash, I decided to see what the return policy is from Best Buy. I have bought many items from them over the years but have never had to return anything before. I was able to print a prepaid UPS label at their website and return the item for a full refund. I received the extender from the post office at 4PM yesterday and by 7 AM this morning I have it packaged and labeled and ready to drop of at the local UPS drop off when they open. When my new wireless internet gets installed next week, if my current router at the new location cannot reach my basement with a signal, I will research the best modems that have the strongest signal and I will certainly order it from Best Buy!!

We understand that you’ve lost all hope in the unit. However, if you’ll just give us one more chance, we’d like to have our Escalation Engineers investigate what caused the setback as the described scenario is certainly not what is expected to happen. Works as advertised with no hassle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for a friend who was hamstrung by space constrictions. Placed it in one remote area with limited results. Moved it 10 feet away from first position and problem solved. It reset itself and gave the signal boost he needed.
