Due to position of ducting, etc there was little coverage there, this device enabled us to get around the obstacles

I needed a WiFi extender to set up my arlo base station away from router. It kept dropping the signal from my router, and would disconnect my cameras 4-5 times a day. I know it was the extender because I exchanged it for a Netgear and I have had zero issues since.
