Linksys - Max-Stream™ AC2200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would put this at the top of the mid priced routers. Several user friendly settings. Very easy to set up, had it set up in about 10 minutes. Significant improvement over my ISP provided equipment. Much faster, better range (2000 square foot plus home). I like the ability to see and adjust my router settings from my phone. Not a fan of the guest network being unsecure. Most likely won't utilize this option. It states on the Linksys website that Open VPN is coming, so looking forward to that option. I have had up to 20 devices at one time on the network and have not noticed any lagging. I purchased this on sale, not quite as good as a black Friday deal, but still satisfied with price.

Good strong rounter for 4 bedroom house
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I put off installing this router for a couple of months because I was afraid of being stuck in password "heck" trying to get all my router's and devices working with the new router. It resolved everything on its own even though it was behind another router and not connected directly to my cable modem. I was really pleased with how simple it was to set up. I do recommend this product for anyone with basic networking knowledge but no desire to dig into assigning individual network ID's for all your devices. Coverage over my whole house has improved and network speed has definitely improved on all our wireless devices.

Good, Stylish Router with Contemporary Feature Set
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It should be noted that the Linksys EA8300 router discussed in this evaluation, was provided as an evaluation unit by Linksys. It should also be noted (to their merit) that Linksys requested an honest evaluation. In general, set up was good. Set up required about an hour and was as relatively uneventful as could be expected (note that one hour was the time required to transition all my equipment and settings from an existing active Wi-Fi system, to accommodate this new router). A new installation might require about half-an-hour, perhaps less if one accepts all the defaults. One small issue presented itself in the initial set-up process; during one step, the software executed, then returned with the statement, “Your Internet Connection Cannot be Verified”, however, the internet connection was indeed active and working, so, after rebooting, and trying again with the same results, I bypassed that step (with the provided “Bypass” button), and everything worked fine. Coverage on the 2.4 GHz band seems a bit better than I experienced with the old router; coverage on the 5 GHz band seems at least as good – this is better than it may sound, as the comparison standard was a Linksys WRT1900AC with Linksys WRT004 high-gain antennas. The EA8300 is advertised as appropriate for a “Medium Household”, which seems correct – the new seamless range extenders and Mesh are making router coverage less an issue. Data transfer was over 100 Mb/s, and consistent with my internet service. My computer, a recent HP laptop, running Windows 10 Home, connected to the Linksys Wi-Fi without incident. The EA8300 recognized an ioSafe 3TB hard drive when it was attached to the EA8300’s USB 3 port (I was told by a Linksys representative, that 3TB is largest hard drive Linksys equipment supports). My HP printer connected via Wi-Fi without incident using Wi-Fi Protected Setup. After a period of operation, the EA8300’s case is only slightly warm to the touch, which suggests a conservative design. On a personal note, I prefer Linksys’ WRT style case, as the indicator LEDs are visible when the unit is located up and in the clear for best range and operation; however, while the WRT case may be more practical for some settings, it is not as fashionable as the EA style case, which can be wall mounted. During the time I’ve had the unit, I was not able to check all the unit’s features and functions. I didn’t find a printable in-depth manual for the EA8300 on the Linksys website – such manuals are appreciated, especially when they include detailed information (and decision guidance) about each available setting and interconnection. I didn’t give the EA8300 a five-star rating because that suggests the EA8300 is absolutely perfect, and trivializes both the rating system and the rated equipment. I appreciate the EA8300’s functionality and feature set, and look forward to exercising the unit more thoroughly.

Improved streaming throughout the house
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The AC2200 is a great router for your multi-device household. Out of the box it sets up very easy, copying over the settings from my last Linksys router. Total time from unboxing to fully on-line was less than 10 minutes. Once operational, everything just worked and worked well. I've noticed a significant improvement in internet speeds, particularly in areas of the house that limited speed previously. We also noticed that streaming in HD is much faster and hasn't buffered since we installed the router. We've been very pleased and are enjoying the new speeds. Linksys provided this router for free in exchange for me honest evaluation of the product.

Great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router to replace the router that I had been renting from my internet provider. Setup was extremely easy and took less than 10 minutes. I have a strong signal through the house and it supports the multiple devices my family uses. Very happy with this purchase.

Great Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace my AC 4200 due to age and frequently dropping connections to my broadband modem and devices using the home network. This new replacement is fast hasn't dropped connection since installing. I stream TV with no buffering pauses and music for hours! I have a 1735 Sq Ft house with no slowdown that I can see even on back deck, front yard and attached garage! Set up was a breeze and give you many options to customize to your liking! I would highly recommend this router. I also installed a Linksys connect on my phone to enhance adjustments to the router conveniently.

Turns off randomly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Router loses signal for no apparent reason. Returned it to Best Buy, exchanged it for same model (thought the first one was a dud), and the second one did the same thing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Linksys Staff
Posted .Hi Nick,
It's clearly unacceptable that even the second item behaves the same way. Aside from a possible signal interference in your area, there might be other factors why the EA8300 router loses its wireless signal. If you haven't returned the product yet, we'll have one of our Escalation Engineers take a closer look at your network setup and provide you with a fix. Please shoot us an email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this post for easy reference.

Very good router from Linksys
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this unit from Linksys in exchange for my honest review. First off, this router is VERY easy to setup. It took me 15 minutes and most of that was because I had to unplug most of the wires and plugs from my old one and put them on this new one. Plug it in, connect the wifi, goto the web address and a simple setup and you're all done. I don't think I setup a router as quickly ever before. However it's the advanced features I'm interested in. The tri-band functionality is interesting. Linksys with this router lets you have 2 or 3 wifi networks if you want. (2 if you want one of them to dynamically share which higher ghz band to dynamically allocate.) It sounds nice, but admittedly, I didn't notice a true difference. What I did notice was the mobile app that connects to this router. If setup properly, I can connect to my router from anywhere and see what devices are connected to it at any time. I can see if my kids are using the iPad or see if there are any devices that "shouldn't" be connecting to it. All this in a VERY intuitive screen. Right now I can clearly see 15 connected devices all named nicely with icons. I can also do parental controls to prevent specific devices from connecting at certain hours. Very useful when the time comes to need it. Also on this is device prioritization so I can specify a couple devices to use bandwidth over other devices first. This feature was on other routers I had in the past but was always a pain to setup. With this mobile app, Linksys has made this a point and tap ease to setup. Range of the wifi is good. The 802.11ac reaches to the edge of my house, barely. But that's no worse than my previous router. The 802.11n reaches farther of course. All-in-all, this router is a great product from Linksys. In the month I've had this, it's been working as expected with no issues.

Great range, easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought 1 unit for my production facility to increase the range. After setup was so easy and the results were very good, I purchased 3 more for other production plants and upgrading my home system. Linksyssmartwifi.com is an easy user interface. The device technology keeps each device connected very fast. I was also very impressed by the range. I am often 250 feet away and am still in range for good wifi service.

Easy and works.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was very easy and the router works perfectly. Previously I tried a different brand, but that other brand would not setup correctly and that company basically just told me to live with it. This Linksys is completely compatible with my modem, switch, and computers. It has good range and speed on both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Software is very easy to use. I recommend you buy this Linksys EA8300 MAX-STREAM AC2200.

Perfect router for small to medium sized home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best router I've ever had and is perfect for a small to medium sized home. This replaced a Linksys AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router. Plug & Play indeed--Installation was a breeze as all I needed to do was literally unplug the old router and plug in this new router using the same power cord and cable wire and set up easily done through the phone app. The dual band router worked fine for our needs but this tri-band router is much better and is faster at 2.2 Gbps in a household that simultaneously connects at least 4-5 devices wirelessly. This router is also much smaller in size compared to the AC1750. I haven't had the chance to test it's limits distance-wise but as far as within the house and driveway and yard, connectivity hasn't been a problem. My most favorite feature with this router is it's simplicity in setting it up. I'd say it took me 10-15 minutes from unboxing it to getting 5 devices connected and operational. I would highly recommend this to family and friends. ***I received a free sample of this Linksys - Max-Stream™ AC2200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback***

Super excellent Family Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Linksys - Max-Stream™ AC2200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black. I have had several Linksys routers in the past years. This particular router was really easy to set up with my Verizon Fios modem. I did have to call Verizon because I had just got a upgrade modem. It took less that 30 minutes for the overall setup. I have 3 children under 10 in my house along with my husband. We all have many different devices in the house that usually slow the wifi down a lot. We all have many tablets, smart phones and smart televisions. We also have a lot of different gaming consoles! We are all very tech savvy. Since we have all signed into the Linksys router, we never have to fight for who can watch and do a certain thing on the wifi anymore. The best part of this router is the setup on my labtop. I was able to put on parental control and check and see what my kids are trying to get up to! There is also a section for a speed test to see if we are getting the best speed and tips on what can be done if there is a slow down. I also love the section where I can have a guest that can sign onto my router as well as see what different devices are connected to it. Overall I am so pleased and happy to have a router that can finally keep up with my technology kind of family! I can not wait to see what is in store for Linksys! I received the EA8300 router as a participant in the "Linksys Best Buy Friends and Family" program.
