Was looking to replace an Apple Extreme that has been used for over 5 years. This router was by far the easiest thing to set up. I literally plugged in the router into the modem and followed the instructions and was on within 10 minutes. There are customization features for assigning priorities to devices which is great. It supports over 10 devices (in our experience). The range of the 5ghz bands is great and can reach across the street and in the backyard easily. The 2.4 ghz band though.. leaves a bit to be desired unfortunately. Overall I would definitely recommend this router especially if most of your devices are on the 5ghz band.

The tri-band is great and the Linksys online services are awesome you can program guest and have your own Security on your own private WiFi. Allows you to turn off Wifi times for family members that have to go to bed early for school or what not. Works well in a two-story home with about 2,300 square feet

With almost 25 devices connected to my wifi I decided to upgrade to an AC Wifi router. I went with the Linksys AC2200 based on the reviews I read. This router meets and exceeds my expectations. Range is far superior to my previous router and I am getting full bandwidth from my ISP over wifi. Install is easy and the app makes it simple to add devices using WPS without running to the router. One other factor for me, 4 gig Ethernet ports on router to connect my NAS, IP phone and wired connection to my laptop dock for soft phone connectivity

I received this product as a demo from Linksys Best Buy Friends as a trial to review and give my opinion on this router. First off the ease of setup was unmatched a soon as i plugged it in and named the wifi network the same as my other router it was up broadcasting and connected to my phones and laptop. I started by running a speed test from my laptop over wifi and on a close test the speed right at the 200mbps the my internet provides. The wifi range was very good my whole one story house has full bars and so does my back yard and driveway. The switching while watching streaming moves was seem less and I have almost no buffering while watching a movie while my son was on you tube. Bottom line this is a top of the line product and I would highly recommend it.

I just had a AC Router die on me after only a year (not a Linksys). Was very careful with checking reviews across multiple sites and this was highly recommended. I can attest that those good reviews are warranted. The setup was incredibly easy. The dashboard gives you a lot of power but isn't ever overwhelming. I love how much control I can exert over my network (and the Smartphone companion app is awesome!). All of my devices connected with no trouble and are all getting a consistent and fast signal. Very happy with this purchase.

I'm no tech expert, just a person who uses wifi in my home. I wanted something easy to set up that I could trust. This seemed to fit the bill, based on reviews we'd read. Connecting was straightforward, right out of the box. I was replacing a dying router, and the connection were, of course, just the same. I loved that I didn't have to hard-wire my computer to the router for setup, as I had in the past. (The router's just in an awkward place to use a computer.) As long as your computer is within range of the wifi, you can set up via wifi, using the included router name and password, then, once connected, change those. Once that was done, it walked me through the rest - easiest experience I have EVER had with a router! I know that some folks complained about speed with this router. I can only assume that they are using their devices for heavy-duty load. We are finding it fast and efficient. I have accessed the controls via browser and also using the Linksys phone app. My only problem/complaint is a minor one, and had to do with this. After adding a device, I found I had trouble accessing the controls - both via browser and on the app. It told me that my router was not connected to the internet, which I knew was false. Apparently the router was just not communicating with Linksys. I rebooted the router by disconnecting and reconnecting power, and that cleared the problem. This happened twice - both times after I had logged in a new device and changed its name from the default one. I don't know if that was why. I can see that it could be a problem if I were away from home, checking on the router for some reason. Since I was home to reboot it, it was not a problem for me. I absolutely love the fact that the router will automatically download updates. Routers we've had in the past were so complicated to update that I know we didn't keep up with that as we should have. This is a very nice feature! All in all, I'd highly recommend this for any average user like myself. I know there are more expensive routers with more bells and whistles and faster speeds, etc., but this more that satisfies our needs in a household that, so far, can have as many as 6 devices connected at once.

I bought this as a replacement for another brand of router, based on the recommendation of a salesperson, and have been very pleased with this product. The set up was easy to do, and could be done by someone who had very little networking experience, as the documentation is very good. The speed and throughput are excellent and most thankfully, it does not have tons of bright blinking lights that make the room bright as day! The Android app works very well to monitor the system as well. So far, I'm very pleased.

Just hooked up the Linksys AC2200 (8300) router to replace an old Belkin. Went from 16 Mbps to 161 Mbps. BANG! Connected eight other items (iPads, phones, tivo, Oppo, and a printer) without any problems. Have a small town house. Router is in basement on a high wood shelf. Computer is on third floor. Tivo and tv are on the ground floor. Set up was very easy and fast. The layout map showing all the connected items is a cool feature ( on the Linksys Smart WiFi web page).

Shaky Start but Issues Are Nonexistent Now

So right out of the shipping box the first thing i noticed was how wonderfully and aesthetically pleasing the package and Linksys EA8300 were. I like to think of these Linksys models as the iPhones of the wireless router industry. I immediately noticed the router itself had a more compact form factor compared to my previous EA 7300 model which is always a good thing (especially if you keep it on your desk like me). Not exactly sure about the science regarding beamforming technology and the directions of the antennas but the fact that there are antennas on the side, compared to all of them being in the back like my old router, makes it easier for me to point them toward key points in a relatively large home. At first I had some difficulty trying to connect my new router to the internet when plugging it into my Comcast modem and going to the routers IP address. It kept prompting me to setup my new "Velos" router, which is a different linksys model i didnt have. After clicking around a bit, i was able to setup the router through my computer since the phone setup gave me issues. The rest is what you'd expect from a Linksys router: great speeds and range! Due to the high amounts of heavy bandwidth using devices, we needed a strong router to handle the connections without lag or dropping. We had a good experience with our Linksys EA7300, yet we noticed a slight speed boost. We have a 100mbps download speed plan with our ISP and our old router gave us about 85-97mbps; which to me was no problem at all. This router gives me at least a consistent 104mbps even a floor up, which completely blew my mind. I did receive this router from Linksys for free in return for my honest review and would definitely recommend to my friends!

Bought this for $100.00 off from Best Buy to replace my two band Netgear. I needed more range and more Power for all mt WIFI products. The Netgear Router served its purpose for years and was 5g on one channel, but this AC2200 is much more useful due to streaming on our smart TV and 8 other devices. The three channels can be configured for individual bands by giving each channel a different name or or all channels can shift to the device that needs it the most by leaving all channels under one name. (my choice) A wise purchase for the price. The easiest software download to connectivity I have ever experienced in a router setup. No cons so far, only pros

This router was very easy to setup, and the web portal gave me lots of different options for parental controls, guest settings, and lots more. Very intuitive. The best part is the speed. I got the same download speed on my laptop when I was upstairs far away from the router as I did when I was standing right next to it. Lots of devices connected, and no throughput issues. I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback.

The Max-Stream™ AC2200 was very easy to set up and has performed flawlessly. The router provides a strong signal that can be accessed all over the house, out in the yard and even down the street. I really like the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi dashboard that allows me to quickly monitor the router and perform essential functions such as assigning guest access.

Outstanding router! I work from home (software industry) and this supports everything I need to do with VoIP and live conference meetings. Not only that, the family is a huge streamer since we do not have cable. Set up was a breeze. I also had customer service help me configure my router for optimal performance for my house hold and business requirements. I highly suggest this router. I have the AC2200. You will not have any worries with this router. On my current internet plan, I have "up to 300 Mbps" and this is delievering over 345 Mbps on WIFI alone! The smart wifi capability is fantastic!

I like Linksys setup since I have had Linksys routers in the past and I like the idea of a seamless transfer from this router to another Max-Stream range extender even though I haven't tried it yet. The range and speed are better than the previous 2 routers I had. I tried the whole house approach and it didn't quite live up to the hype so I thought this would be the next best thing. I'm pleased so far.

This is the first linksys I have purchased in many years. I bought it to replace the modem/router combo that I got from the cable company. It had gotten to where it was slowing down and disconnecting all the time. I'm sure it was because of all of the devices I have connected. I am running anywhere from 16 to 20 devices at a given time. This router seams to handle it well. Also I don't have a large house, only about 1600 square feet but the wifi range does a good job.

Hookup and install was quick and simple , no troubles at all . I noticed right away that connecting to the internet was much faster and the signal strength much stronger . My cell phone Wi-Fi strength went from half or less to full bars , even out side the house in the yard and across the street at the neighbors .

Replaced an older Belkin with this LinkSys Tri-Band and I've got much better speed. With the easy setup, I was up and running in a few minutes. I also have several devices(iHome smartplugs) that require a 2.4ghz wifi and they are working seemlessly - no need to specify. Also, we have approximately 20 devices using wifi and have had not problems with buffering or speed issues.
