I installed this router , along with a new cable modem , a couple of weeks ago. The range seems better than the zoom router it replaced , though I haven’t really wandered around the yard , looking for dropouts yet . Coverage in the the house is excellent.
I use mostly Sony equipment for my home theater setup, and Apple products. I was outside last week, listening to a podcast on my iPhone 6S I had both cellular and WiFi on. The WiFi signal was very good, but the podcast would freeze for a few seconds , then resume. Not quite sure why. Sometimes WiFi and cellular seem to disagree which should carry the signal ?
Then the other night , I was checking out my new Sony 4K DVD player . It found my home network effortlessly, and I connected to it. After I finished watching the 4K movie I had wanted to see, I switched the dvd to Amazon , and started a movie. Well, for awhile , it would freeze for a second or two, then resume.
My provider for internet is Comcast , with D/L speed up to 60 MPS. . However , even though my home network is password protected, Comcast also broadcasts a signal in the clear. I have noticed my Apple MacBook always connects first to the unsecured Comcast signal , sometimes even switching to it , after I’ve made it hook up to my home network.
So, not sure if the hiccups are due to equipment switching between the protected WiFi , and the open network , or what.
My other equipment doesn’t seem to have any issues , but I haven’t had the inclination to troubleshoot it yet .
That’s why 4 stars , instead of 5 .
On the whole , I’m happy with the routers range , and performance. And , the price was decent.
I’d say give it a try. I wanted a good router , and didn’t want to lay out the $$$ for an expensive router, as we have a lot of our stuff connected with Ethernet cables . And that stuff works flawlessly.

Bought router and was conserned about installation after reading reviews. Read instructions about how to install and watch some YouTube videos. Install went very good with no problems. I was replacing a older router so used the same name and password I had on the router I was replacing. All devices connected after install. The router works great and my speed when running test shows very good numbers. I have eight devices on it with 2200 square foot home and get great service.

I've always been a Linksys fan and now with this router I'm a customer for life. I love how you can use the Linksys app to make sure your router has internet. I'm constantly on the road and I have cameras on my property and if the internet goes out I can't remotely view. With this router I'm able to see if it's an issue with my cameras or with my internet provider. Plus this has such a long range I even removed my wifi range booster. This router was a great investment for my house.

setup was v easy and straight forward,
love the mobile app,
I like the fact that I can keep the same wireless name for both 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz Network
Signal strength is fairly good at almost all corners of my home
unlike other reviews, there is no need to create linksys account for setup, there is an option to directly login to the router.
Linksys account is only required if you need to manage router when not at home
all in all good a v good router for the price

This is the second one I've purchased for 2 different people. This one was for a customer whos house has 3 levels and just over 5,000sqft. i had to install it on the 3rd floor but there was no dead spots any where around the house. The signal is strong enough to push the 5Ghz band all the way to the first floor. He was considering a mesh router I told him to give this one a try and It works!!. It was about $130 cheaper than the mesh. Just because you have the money doesn't mean you have to spend it.
I tested the signal strength with wifi software and it was solid in and around the house.
It's very easy to setup and there is also an app for it.

I needed a new router and the Best Buy salesperson recommended this one for my house. It needed to connect to a main floor computer and laptop and to a home office in a remote corner of the basement, as well as to the occasional phones and laptops of visitors in an upstairs guest room. So far, it has done this splendidly, at top speed. We are very pleased with this router--it was a great choice at a good price.

I've had a Linksys router (originally a Cisco) for some years that worked very well, so when it started going bad, I decided to get a newer, faster model from Linksys. Since I'm not a gamer and don't need an absolutely top-of-the-line (and top of the price scale) model, I went with the AC2200, which I would characterize as a mid-range model.
Set up was incredibly easy. I just unplugged the old router and plugged the new one in and went into the Linksys website and finished up. I was up and running within 15 minutes. Coverage in my house is excellent, even with the router placement in a bedroom at one end of our house. We've had no problems with speed or performance.

I had an older low end Linksys that I constantly had to reboot and the best speed test I could get was 75 M/S (I'm supposed to have 100 M/S). With this router I get 118 M/S on my wired desktop. The three wireless bands are nice to distribute the load. The range however isn't much better than my old one. Setup was easy and the phone app is great. Overall, A big step up.

This router works great! Super fast & allows my family to stream ffom multiple divices in many rooms at the same time. So glad we upgraded to this. Definitely recommend paying the extra money for a great device. Though we got it on black friday for a stealer price. It was recommended to us by the ladies in front of us in line. You can’t go wrong with this purchase!

I recently have been upgrading my wireless internet (service, modem, wireless router, etc.). After some research, I chose this router and it's been flawless. I previously had Link-Sys routers and I appreciated the ease of setup, so I was looking for a new Link-Sys that could handle my increased speeds and additional devices. This has been great, I'd recommend it.

This is a great router. Previously had a Netgear Nighthawk 1900 that I purchased 2 years ago. I had logged in to update parental controls and noticed that there was a Firmware Update so I clicked on the update link. It ended up being a corrupted update, rendering my router useless. Since I was no longer within the 1 year product warranty, Netgear refused to do anything about it, even though it was their download. So no more Netgear products for me. After quite a bit of research I decided this Linksys Max Stream would meet our needs. We have a demanding video streaming device that we use quite a bit, a video game system, and all the other typical wifi devices that you find in households today. I like that I could set our video streaming device as the only device on one of the 5ghz bands and all of our other devices can be allocated between the other 5 ghz & 2.4 ghz bands. Setup was a breeze and only took a few minutes out of the box. I set up parental controls tonight and it was super easy, just a couple of clicks, and they took effect right away. Kids weren't happy, but I was! The netgear parental control options were a nightmare and I never did get them to work. Overall I have had a much better experience thus far with this Linksys. Two thumbs up from me.

I purchased this router because my old Linksys WRT54G was just not able to give me the wireless service I was paying for. I was paying for 25 mbps but with the old router, wireless was reduced to 15-20. Once I finally got my new AC 2200 router set up, I get 23-26 mbps now. Consistently all the time. Very satisfied with my purchase. Even get more range.

Purchased this router, called Time Warner (Spectrum) to disable the wireless from the gateway box, and plugged in the Linksys Max Stream AC2200 router. Easy setup through my Macbook, and the difference in range is outstanding! Currently have up to 13 devices at a time running this router, have yet to experience dropped/slow connections after 4 weeks.

I bought this router on sale and I'm glad I did. I thoroughly read the reviews; they were generally positive, but there are quite a few negative reviews for this device. Despite these reviews, I decided to buy it because of the sale price. It took me 30-45 min to setup the network, and I have been happy ever since I bought it (30 days ago). I have improved my network performance over my old router tremendously (I have 12 devices connected) and I no longer have devices dropped from the network. The cons: If you are a novice, like me, you may not realize that the 5GHz band is only useful if you are in close proximity to the router (high frequencies do not carry as far or as well through walls as lower frequencies). The parental controls are good, but they aren't great (I almost gave it 4 stars because of the parental controls). For example, I can block access to the internet at specific times, but I can't see the number of hours spent online by device or regulate use by duration of use. Last, my son uses the WiFi for gaming (I know he should used a wired connection), and is very happy with the performance. In sum, a good router for gaming, for multiple devices, and for anyone to setup and use quickly out of the box.

Replaced our 1 year old Netgear Nighthawk x4, which was $150. After 4-5 months, it needed to be rebooted constantly. We use Spectrum internet with their supplied surfboard modem and when we hard wired, it was always super high speeds and consistent, so we knew it was our Netgear. Using the Netgear app, we could see trouble with range on our first floor (router upstairs) as well. We pay for 100mbps and we were getting 20-25 from our router. After a hard reset - thinking it was a firmware update issue - it got even worse sitting at 8-15mbps. It's been just a few days with the Linksys Max Stream and it's performing perfectly so far. The app is fantastic! I have already set internet schedules for the kids and prioritized my husband's and my devices to ensure the fastest speeds. We cut the cable cord 7 years ago, and my husband is a software engineer who works from home, so high speed, consistent internet is essential. We challenge our bandwidth with 4 smart phones, 4 chromecast sticks, 6 laptops/desktops, and 2 playstations. The app has consistently showed my active device speeds at 115+mbps. We never got that much wirelessly from the Netgear. I will be sure to update my review if anything changes!
