Most of the reviews were done by people who received a free router to try. I don't know how legit they actually are since they were trying out a free product. I have tried a couple different routers and this one does not impress me. I live in a small 1000 sq ft ranch and the range on this router is awful. I have the router located in my living room towards the middle of the house and the signal strength in the far bedrooms is awful. Also, the 2.4GHz band is extremely slow and not reliable. The 5.0GHz band is more stable and haven't had issues with it. For a $200 router competing with other routers in the same price range this is not worth the money. If anyone is curious or thinks it is the modem. I will tell you the modem is not the problem. I have this paired with an ARRIS - SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. I am unfortunately outside of Best Buy's return policy and am stuck with this.

Slow download performance, Get a NetGear

Even when paired with an upgraded cable modem. Returned to store and Spent an extra $70 and got a Netgear Nighthawk and it consistently hits 113mb download speed.

Still needed a range extender and we could not get our old extender to work so we had to buy a new one which was a disappointment. Might have purchased another brand had we known the range extender would not work.
