All around great router

This router has great wi-fi coverage. I have full bars every where in my house. And on top of that great coverage it can handle some load too. This would be a good choice for homes with multiple wi-fi users.
Don't forgot a router can only be as fast as your internet when viewing content online. And this one is faster than my 200mbps internet.

Linksys AC4000 Review

I have had the router for about 1 month and overall this is a stable and high performing router with good coverage across all bands. I would like to see improvements in the performance metrics provided on the individual connections as well as the overall router throughout in both the browser and mobile application. Additionally I would like to see a dashboard which compares performance of the router and each registered MAC address over time (day, week, month, year) so the consumer has information to keep ISPs honest on the service provided and information to troubleshoot areas of the home where an extender could provide a performance improvement.
I would also like to see more configuration options for each registered MAC address other than reserving a static IP address.

Great future proof router, overkill for most

The Linksys EA9300 is one serious router. Perhaps too serious for most users. Similar to the Linksys WRT 3200 but more power, this router is more for the serious user with a lot of bandwidth traffic and a larger home.
Pros-
Linsys App/ software is easy to set up and a pleasure to use.
Two USB connections. Connect your USB 3.0 drive or printer.
Future proof – faster than most wi-fi devices and providers. I had no way to test the upper limits of the device. There is no reason is cannot handle 4K traffic on multiple devices.
Tri-Band – two 5.0 ghz and one 2.4.
5 Gigabit LAN ports
Great range. 150+ feet away with no discernable loss.
Some Alexa integration ( not tested.)
Cons -
Huge foot print. One of the biggest routers out there. 6 antennas.
Runs hot.
Overkill for most.
Overall, this is a great, well built powerful router with a rich feature set that will be overkill for most users. If you have a large house with lot’s of bandwidth use ( multiple Netflix use, computer etc) and want to be protected for future technology - this is a good choice. If you want to save some money and do not need the power of this router, look to some of the other Linksys products; they will serve just as well .

On the outside the Linksys - Max-Stream™ AC4000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router, seems like every other wireless router on the market;
another black box with enough antennas to make lesser models jealous but it's definitely not. Under the hood of this device is where you get more for your buck.
It has a lighting fast UI, with a laundry list of features to include a real working DMZ. For all you gamers out there that don't want anything between you and your K/D ratio. There are tons of parental controls , like time restrictions , MAC filtering , port blocking, and many more.
There are also two 3.0 HD connection that are a great touch, if you a collector of media like myself . This feature is for you. You can now share all those great files with your love ones creating your own home cloud network with ease using hard drives that you might just have laying around. Just plug and play and you are up and running in a few moments.
And don't forget that with this device you now have business grade security in your home, form WEP to APIK2 . With SSID hiding and Multi SSID Guest user setting and VLAN protection all in a neat package. I give it 4.7 out of 5 this one had me DMZ.....

The best router available

The Linksys EA9300 is, in my opinion, simply the best router available today for the price. It is super easy to set up with a the Linksys app, or through a web browser. It detects the type of internet connection you have and with a just a little input from the user it gets you up and going quickly.
I have found the Wi-Fi signal to be excellent, but if you have a larger home, or you need to extend Wi-Fi to the back yard, just install a Linksys MAX-STREAM Range Extender and your devices will automatically switch to the strongest signal.
I also like the features Linksys has loaded this router with--like the ability to turn off the Wi-Fi signal on a schedule or the option to turn off the LED's. You can also manage your network remotely using the Linksys app and set up you own personal cloud by attaching a USB hard drive to the router. And since it is tri-band, you can set up a guest network without having to make your network password public knowledge.
I can't imagine needing a feature this router doesn't already have. And so far it's been rock solid. Rock solid, fast, great signal, every imaginable feature...you just can't get a better router for the price.

I keep giving Linksys the opportunity to save their reputation, but they keep failing. I’ve tried a few different wireless routers from Linksys in the last couple of years. It seems that with each subsequent revision they are trying to making things more difficult, cumbersome and impossible. It’s my opinion that the brand suffered when Cisco purchased them in 2003. At that time their build quality was the first to die. With most products lasting only one week beyond the warranty period; if even that long. Then in 2013, they were acquired by Belkin. Since then, it appears that they are focusing on software over hardware at the sake of usability. Linksys used to be a name I would trust implicitly. But not since the days of the BEFSR-41.
The latest trial was the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router. It can be a good Wi-Fi router if your setup is incredibly simple and you don’t mind paying a premium for just “good”. At $300.00 it’s quite a premium when you consider that many other companies sell routers with the same performance and specs for less.
* Setup - Here is where you’ll experience frustration greater than you would ever imagine. Try as I might, I could not get the router to accept an incoming connection to perform the browser based setup. Basically, you have to setup the router before you can connect to it. But you have to connect to it in order to set it up. Can you say Catch-22? I have Uverse and with their gateway you have to turn off a few things to simulate “bridge mode” to allow the additional router to function properly. Even with this done, it was a no-go. Comcast and other cable providers are moving this direction also. So unless you have a simple, single-purpose cable modem or DSL modem, you will have additional configuration issues to deal with prior to setup.
I next tried the Linksys app from the App Store. So I download the app and it tells me that it will no longer function and I must download an updated app. Hint: There isn’t one. Instead, you have to download the other Linksys app, which is not mentioned in the error message or documentation. That app will assume that you have a Velop so you have to jump through additional hoops only to find out that the app can’t find the router. URGH!
The only way I was able to setup the router was to let it boot, connect from a mobile device to the web based setup utility and set it up from there. Once completed, then the Linksys app and the server based setup would magically see the router.
* Software - As I mentioned, one app runs you in update circles, the other wants you to buy a different router. But once setup, it lacks any real features. Sure you can change your Wi-Fi password and reboot the router, but that’s about it. Very lacking in features and function.
* Support/Documentation - OMG, if setup was not enough of a hassle then here is where they really fall flat. The support area at Linksys has very little real, usable, or helpful information at all. They don’t even seem to know if the back of the router has 4 or 8 ports. (demonstrated by two pictures that are very different) If you want information that is not already contained in their el-cheapo app, then you will have to look elsewhere. Try Google, you’ll find a lot more information on other websites.
* Performance - Here is where the EA9300 has earned it’s “good” rating. The performance is absolutely average. Right on par with the stock Wi-Fi from my Uverse gateway and my Airport Express. With it’s six antennas you would hope that it might be better. I’m beginning to wonder if they are actually functional or just for show?
Verdict: If you want to pay a premium, get average performance, have only a cable modem and no other routing then this is a good choice. But if you prefer not to be frustrated and abused by new equipment, would like better performance and/or would like to spend something more like $100-$150, then look at other brands.
Or, if you want to do some configuration and don’t mind flashing some firmware (a lot easier than the setup of these routers) then look for either a Tomato or DD-WRT supported router.

The Linksys EA9300 router is a great router for home use. I noticed significant improvement for things like video streaming over the network and the 5ghz band doesn't slow or drop out as much as a previous router I had did. Overall I am thoroughly pleased with this router.

Best router I've owned so far! Granted I had my last linkys (which still works) router for about 6 years. nothing wrong with my but I now have a three story house and more devices and have noticed a significant loss in speed. It was time for an upgrade and I'm glad I chose this router. I have everything connected to it and use many devices at once and I noticed no lag in speed. hopefully I get a solid 6 years out of this as I did with my previous linksys router.

This router is fantastic if you only need 4 Ethernet ports. That's literally the ONLY negative thing I can say about it. The EA9500 has 8 ether at ports, with that said the no st saved by going with this one, the EA9300, this thing is PERFECT!

AMAZING product. I work from home as well am an avid streamer gamer. I use both wired and wireless and this router completely covers my entire house as well as bumped my speed up 20 mbps at over 30 feet away! 10/10 would buy again.

The LINKSYS EA9300 MAX-STREAM AC4000 TRI-BAND WI-FI ROUTER is a good strong router to have connect your network. My walls are solid cement and always cause problems for any router I try to use throughout the whole apartment. The thickness and density of my walls create an impediment to the strength of the WiFi signal emitted from the router. The LINKSYS EA9300 MAX-STREAM AC4000 TRI-BAND WI-FI ROUTER does not have that problem. The main location of the router gives five bars and my devices located furthest from the router maintain their signal. The bars strength only diminishes to three bars, which is still strong enough to operate my devices without freezing or buffering. The LINKSYS EA9300 MAX-STREAM AC4000 TRI-BAND WI-FI ROUTER is good enough to cover my whole apartment with WiFi coverage.

This is a fantastic router. Range, speed, and connection quality are fantastic. I have mine setup in Tri-Band mode, and the speed is always there. I don't have any issues with connection quality, ie drop-outs. The parental controls are awesome. You can select specific devices and times to block WiFi/internet access to. This is perfect for kids/teenagers that are trying to play video games late on school nights. The Linksys user interface is easy to use and navigate. I have a lot of devices in this house, 20+ easily, and haven't had any issues with slowdowns. I don't have any experience with 4K streaming, but I have had two TV's streaming Netflix and Vudu, a PS4 and PC playing video games without any noticeable slowdowns/buffering or lag. Amazing!

This product is an upgrade from my Linksys WRT-AC1900, which needed rebooting quite often. Anyhow, the AC4000 is easy to setup. Actually, very little change to the setup process which is good. I used the same app to change to the new router. So, no problems on setup. I noticed that streaming has noticeably improved via the devices in my household. Especially via our TVs. No more FaceTime cutting out.

Tri Band router for the new Gigabit internet service that is sweeping the country.
Nice to have three bands to relieve congestion in my household. Plus most of my neighbors use the internet.
Gigabit internet service will probably arrive where I live this year. Want to be ready for it.
Besides my Nexus 6 and Acer R11 Chromebook run on AC so I can take advantage of the features that this router offers.
Happy to report it works Gr8 with my Linksys Velop Wi-Fi mesh router. No degrading of performance encountered.

I have multiple TVs using slang over the Internet television. We watch a lot of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and other online shows. Lots and lots of YouTube. We have no issues with this router being able to deliver enough band with to each consumer in the house. The signal is strong, and back ups move Very very quickly.

Bought this router bc I have a 4000 sqft house and couldn't seem to get a strong signal throughout. This router combined with a range extender allows me to flawlessly power 3 smart TVs, 4 iPads, 2 laptops, and 2 phones on 2 different floors. Very happy with the purchase and definitely worth the money.

I purchased this router as a replacement for a comparable Netgear Nighthawk router that kept dropping wifi signal. I am happy to say that this one is fast and reliable. I've been putting it through its paces with lots of connected devices and this thing doesn't skip a beat.
