An improvement would be a rugged USB extension that allo0wed the device to be placed a distance from the laptop, if nothing other than to prevent breaking it off from the base, much like the pitfalls we have all had with a laptop a time or two.

Setup was not difficult, but the range was mediocre at best. I have my router in the first floor and using my laptop upstairs is challenging. If I go closer to the router, then the signal strength increases. I know it is not the router because all the other wireless devices are functioning just fine.

It is possible that signal interference is the cause of the intermittent connection using the adapter. We suggest that you set a static wireless channel on your router to minimize this and improve the signal.

I figured my slow wifi speeds were just what I got with the loss in speed going from wifi to wireless. But this dongle doubled the speeds I consistently get. I pay for 200mbps and usually get 60-80 using this dongle. Before I was getting ~15.
