This model is designed for the Windows 7 and later OS versions. With that, the adapter's compatibility with your computer could've caused the challenge. If you have no plans to update the computer's OS, then you might be interested in this model instead: http://www.linksys.com/us/p/P-AE6000/

Good When it Doesn't Disconnect

However intermittently, it looses connection and has to be removed and plugged back it. It is "plug and play" so it quickly corrects the issue. However it can be annoying to have to do this. For the price range, I am okay with it's performance.

It has literally changed my life. Before I had it, browsing dating sites was terrible, so slow and I lost out on some great babes.
