Didn't solve the problem

Despite the on package and online hype, this didn't solve the problem. Needed the wifi just for my computer- bought a NetGear Powerline 1000 and it did the trick (it plugs into the router and wall and separate unit plugs into the computer)

The wireless adapter should be able to receive an exceptional signal once the setup was completed. Moreover, its performance is dependent on your router as well.
