I bought this to work as an extender to a router I have upstairs. I honestly don’t think it’s doing anything but having power on. Sometimes the power will fail on this extender and there is no change to my devices that’s connected to the main router.

After hearing from the Linksys rep at a local Best Buy it sounded like it was exactly what we needed. Unfortunately it did not fit our WiFi needs. It seems like a good product. We returned and got a small mesh system.

It connected easily to the router the first time it was setup. Few weeks later it disconnected from the router. I did not have issues with the signal. From that point forward it did not connect again wirelessly to the router. Even if connected with an Ethernet cable and setup manually, when moved to a different area, it will not be able to connect wirelessly to the router. I was very disappointed. Do not recommend this extender.

The Linksys RE9000 is the best WiFi Range Extender with Ethernet that I have ever used. Our home is large enough to get dead spots of WiFi and sometimes, even worse really, the "sometimes WiFi works and doesn't" problem so we needed a Range Extender. I wanted a range extender with ethernet ports, as I like to have flexibility on placement and using a wired connection if I can. Setup was incredibly easy. Your grandma could set this up. It even gives a nice on-screen graphic to help you know if you're in the "sweet spot" of where to place the router. Once it's all setup you will have a second WiFi connection in your home with an _ext name. So you will need to manually switch devices to use the extender. You can use the same name as your original WiFi but your device might not automatically connect to the extender. Bonus and worth to know is the Linksys RE9000 can also be used a standard WiFi router (connected to your modem). It's great that it can double as an extender or as your main WiFi router. Also for the record, I am using the Linksys RE9000 with a Verizon FIOS combo modem router WiFi device with no problems.

This is not a good product for a large home, maybe good for an apartment, the Netgear Triband WiFi extender is much, much better in terms of wide area coverage

This is the review for Linksys AC3000 Wi-Fi range extended. This is very easy to setup and one need not be an IT specialist. It works extremely well if you have Linksys router/modem. This one extends the WiFi range throughout the home and even the dead corner spaces. You need to download the Linksys app to set this one. It is easy to use and the app recommends where to place the router for optimum performance. You can also use the Ethernet cable to connect this to the router in case of more reliable connectivity in the house. This one has MU-MIMO and doesn't drop the speed or reliability. You can use it as a standalone extender or as an Access Point. You can use the WPS button to connect this to the devices. The dedicated backend channel is amazing since it doesn't interfere or slow down the speed of the connection. This has a very sleek design and definitely blends in with other things around the house. This is definitely a great addition to the home networking and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a reliable extender.

To begin with, I really liked how easy it is to set up. If you have bought previous Linksys routers you will be familiar with the process. If you are new to Linksys, all you have to do is get the Linksys app and it will guide you through the set up. My wife is not very tech savvy and she was able to get it set up. The other main point I want to make about this extender is the range that it has. I live in a 2 story 3300 sq/ft home and this Linksys wifi extender is very consistent through out the house. Another plus was the 4 ethernet ports that it has. I haven't had any issues with this extender, but if you ever do, they do provide 24/7 technical support. I have called on their technical support with a previous router and they were very patient with me. Overall, I would highly recommend this wifi extender because of the set up, reliability and the price is great.

It is ok for that price, but it is not stabile and slower than Orbi a lot.
