Phone looks Good. Customer Service Terrible.

Bought this phone for my husband since he wanted a smartphone that was fairly simple. The phone looks good, seems solid. I like the way the home screen is set up. I have been able to edit the home screen, add apps, connect with gmail. It looks like it could be either used as a simple, basic phone, or you could tweak it and add on whatever is needed. The quality of the phone would get 4.5 stars, but the activation is horrible, and the customer service almost non-existent. Lively apparently has a severe shortage of customer service reps, and we havent been able to activate the phone for two days. Something wrong with their activation service, they tell me. Four phone calls, at least 4 reps, about 2 1/2 hours on the phone (mostly on hold--by the way, the muzak is horrible) over two days, and still not activated. They keep sending me to someone else (after trying to upsell me on plan features). I can use it with the home wifi, but that's it. Still trying to port a phone number from Verizon, which apparently has to be done by Lively, but no luck yet. I haven't quite given up yet, but if we can't get it activated soon, and the number ported over, I will have to return it and find a better option. You may need a lot of patience if you get this phone.

l bought the Lively 3 phone from your Best Buy store on Vann Dr. in Jackson, TN. Overall, I like how the phone functions but had a hard time getting it activated. I purchased the phone with the understanding that The "Geek Squad" would be able to activate it for me, only to find out that that was no longer an option. I did eventually get it activated but had a hard time getting all the functions on it activated. Plus, not 2 weeks in the screen screen shattered while sitting in a protective padded case.

Not as the sales person stated. Not equipped with wifi calling as we were repeatedly told it was. Life in dead cell calling area so wifi calling was strongly desired.

    New & Better Jitterbug

I had no problem transferring the data from my old phone to the new one. Charging time is much faster, less than half. My touch screen is more sensitive. I'm not pounding on the screen to answer a phone call. Much better choice of ring tones.

We bought two of the Smart 3 phones from Lively/Jitterbug. The price was right (cheap), and we were willing to try an iPhone alternative and a different service provider. However, the tech support, although always kind and staffed by pleasant people, was mostly inept. That forced us to spend considerable time and effort and some money on our own downloading data from the old phones. It took many calls to tech support to get our email working. After that, the user experience was generally clunky. The biggest problem was that on one of the phones, the apps would frequently disappear from the home screen, requiring them to be manually restored. Lively never had a solution for that, and one tech adviser blamed the use of apps downloaded from the Google app store. In the end, we gave up and moved on. No refund in sight except for zeroing out the final month's service charge. Altogether an outrageously bad experience.

    Great Phone for Low Vision

So happy with my Jitterbug Smart3 phone. I do not have center vision and require magnification in order to read everything. This phone is easy to learn and set up. I recommend this phone for anyone with low vision who does not need all of the "clutter" on new phones. Also, the Lively Customer Care reps are very helpful and friendly!

This is a nice phone but it was too complicated for my 89 year old mother. We exchanged it for the Jitterbug flip phone. She can use Alexa to call on the flip phone and that is easier for her.

Nice product & service was great. The problem was that the product's advertising was incomplete and misleading about the cost to establish service and what plans were available for each phone. I returned the phone and went with another company for a fraction of the costs.
