This is an awesome remote. I use it to control my home entertainment stuff. I like it because I can use it with my Philips Lux light bulbs so when I select the Watch a Movie button, everything comes on like it should and the lights automatically dim. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a Help button like my last Harmony remote did. Love this remote!

I own harmony smart control, and decided to get this one because of all my smart home products. Works great. If you do not have smart lights are switches then recommend harmony smart control, which is an awesome controller. With either of these 2 remotes you do not need line of sight, can put all equipment in a closet or console cabinet. The unit itself is an ir blaster, which really doesnt need line of site, and comes with an ir receiver extention which i guess is about 10' not sure but it is long. You can also buy a second one near the remotes at best buy they are pretty cheap, think insignia but that is all you need for this purpose if u needed another .

I bought this harmony remote to control a samsung smart tv, a verizon set top box and a yamaha receiver. it will do all that fairly easy. The one problem I've had is my tv is in a different room than the other components. So when I put the hub in the room with the receiver and the set top box I have to turn the tv on with the remote that came with it. The IR extender is not long enough to go from the hub to the tv. I tried a fix I saw on the internet using a 25 foot mono price cable but that didn't work. I think that is too far for the signal to travel. I think I am going to try taking off some of the wire length and then splicing it as I don't the full 25 feet. if someone has another idea I would appreciate that you please add a coment.

I love this remote. Logitech has vastly improved it from a previous version that I owned. The iPad and iPhone app works perfectly. I recommend this to anyone who wants to reduce the number of remotes lying around!

Harmony with the Xbox One S

I recently purchased a Harmony Companion remote with Harmony Hub for my Xbox One centered set up. Now that it's up, the remote works fantasticly, but set up was a struggle. Harmony software set the remote to control mainly the TV when I used their "watch TV" preset. I use my TV as a monitor only, and considered this a major inconvenience. Worse, Harmony set the menu button to bring up the smart TV app menu on my Sony TV instead of bringing up the settings menu as I expected. This would have been a minor inconvenience, but the remote has no obvious button I could use to change the TV input back to my Xbox. All of these were solvable problems. All I had to do was set up my own custom Harmony Activity and select the Xbox as the main device. This method still required some custom button mapping on my part because I found some of the Harmony Companion's default Xbox button assignments unintuitive. Watching TV taken care of, it was time to set up the remote so that I could change TV picture settings and Receiver sound settings on the fly. Easy right? This is what universal remotes are built for. Not so with the Harmony Companion. I could easily set up activities that let the remote control either the TV or the receiver, but this strategy had a major flaw. When you close one activity, Harmony turns off all of your devices related to that activity. This means when I switch from my custom Xbox centric activity, which includes the TV and receiver as related devices, to my TV centric activity to change picture settings, my Xbox and receiver were erroneously turned off. A similar thing happened when I wanted to make sound related changes. I could find no setting that would let you leave all three devices on except to add all three devices to all three activities. I can see how that turn off everything else by default behavior can be useful in some situations, but for me, it was again unintuitive and unappreciated. Once I changed and understood all of the unintuitive defaults, using the markedly intuitive Harmony smart phone app, I was able to get exactly the functionality I wanted. I finally have the media remote for my Xbox that I always wished Microsoft would make, and as a bonus, I can finally leave my TV and receiver remotes in the drawer where they belong.

I was using 3 remotes, one for the TV, one for my Tivo, and one for my Roku. Nobody that visited our house could ever manage to work the remotes, and even for my wife and me, it was a pain. Plus having three remotes always sitting out was also not great. Now we have one remote, it has a great feel - and it does everything we need.

As title says Not very easy to set up. Just didn’t seem very intuitive to me. I would say it took me about a week to fully understand how to program this. Now I know how it’s really easy. If you struggle I found a couple videos online that helped me. I will say once it’s set up properly it has been a great remote and I wouldn’t go back know to fumbling 3-4 different remotes just to watch tv.

Purchased to allow cable box, Apple TV, DVR and other electronics to be hidden out of sight in a cabinet. Set up was very intuitive with the iPhone app. The only missing feature would be backlit keys on the remote. the buttons and text are very difficult to see in anything less than bright conditions. This is why I gave a rating of 4 stars.

With the included IR Blaster this Harmony remote makes controlling all the equipment in our living room as simple as you could ever get. There was a small learning curve to figuring out that, with the included remote, there is a difference between a short press and a long press. Once I figured out you could program each separately, I had all kinds of cool things the remote can do. The only disappointment is the Android, and I suppose the iOS, app. The app looks nothing like the standard Harmony remote setup and cannot be reconfigured to move buttons around or add missing ones from the screen. One nice thing about the app is the "touch interface" where swiping up or down or tapping controls volume or pausing the DVR. You do need the phone app to configure the Hub and setup your devices and the app does a great job at helping you do that. Just wish Logitech would improve the actual interface and make it look like the physical remote. If you are looking for a step up from your current remote, this is a great one and a great price.

It was getting on my nerves having so many remotes lying around. I needed one remote for everything. I knew a Harmony remote was where I wanted to go with my purchase. I love this home system! No problems setting up. It was not complicated, and easy to use. I would highly recommend this product.

I am a professional home theater installer and I have used a lot of remote controls. For the money, this is by far the most intuitive remote for a semi complex home entertainment setup. With a little bit of experience, you can make this remote perform any Home theater task that is demanded of it.

This system is a great way to get rid of most remotes. When I first got the Logitech - Harmony Home Companion, my wife said we didn't need another remote. After set-up and a quick tutorial, she loves it; and with the addition of the Google Home everything clutter free.

We took advantage of a trade in program and replaced an older Harmony remote with worn out volume buttons. This model is a big step up. Just wish it lit up like the old one we had.

So far so good, but lots of things left to explore. Was fairly easy to set up, but I like technology. I don't recommend it to non technical people, as set up is tricky. Only using it with audio video devices as my Wink network is not compatible. Five stars for now, as I have no complaints.

I had previously used a Logitech remote one step lower that cost less than $100 and it worked great and did everything I needed plus some but when the remote would get dropped on the floor it lost its connectivity and had to restart the entire system. I was given this remote as a gift, the only thing I don't like is that there is no help button when or if something doesn't get turned on or turned off when an action is initiated. I don't think its worth 3x the price over the lower priced Logitech remote.

Got this after returning the non-hub 700. I like the hub-based system much better. Don't have to aim the remote and it's much more consistent in turning on multiple devices. Did take some trial and error getting everything to work. Also, wish it had more dedicated activity buttons on the remote so I didn't have to go to my phone since I have more than 6. But the phone app is nice and works well.
