A Smart Home Must !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Need wifi to program ! It is a monster of a universal remote , controls anything even learns from your existing remotes and controls I.O.T. for example , shades, lights Sonos Speakers , locks (yes smart locks) with Samsung Smarthings hub. Amazon Alexa controls all commands from this hub also for example "Alexa turn on the TV" boom your watch TV activity turns on or off etc.

This product should not exist.. App not worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not really sure what made me think I needed this.. Maybe because I wanted to use my phone as a remote as well, But at roughly $100 starting MSRP for another device to do what SHOULD BE FREE is ridiculous! The Harmony Remote is a separate review, but it's already overpriced so the least they could do is let u use the app and your phone since you already overpaid for a mediocre remote. About the " $100 " app that you get to use with this: it's slow to load, crashes often, the design is well.. Basically lacking design. The "buttons" are not placed in any kind of order that make sense or remotely resemble the original remote. This may be worth the money if you could use it to add additional (MUCH more affordable) Harmony remotes to your ecosystem... Or increase the amount of devices you can connect...But you can't! I do not own any video game consoles so I cannot speak as to the value that it may offer gamers.

A good way to enhance an existing Harmony remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use with my Harmony 950 and my Amazon Echo Dot. Set-up was fairly easy, though I hate the MyHarmony desktop software. The Harmony iOS app, on the other hand, is really surprisingly good. Getting everything to sync wasn't too bad, and while Harmony's Echo "skills" are a bit clunky (they have two of them: one controls volume but doesn't do activities, the other does activities but doesn't control volume), they do work, most of the time anyway. Specific commands can be tricky, like having the Dot open the tray on a Blu-Ray player, but as far as turning activities on and off, it's very good, and it does a good job stopping, pausing, and controlling the volume. As I'm writing this, it probably sounds like a case of "how lazy can you get" that you would want to use voice commands instead of just picking up the remote, but once you've used a device like the Echo Dot, you get used to controlling things while you're doing something else (working in the kitchen, answering the phone with one hand and not wanting to juggle the remote a the same time, etc.). Plus, the iOS app is really good and substitutes nicely for the remote. I still use the remote, but I also use the voice commands and the app, so for me, I feel that I'm getting more bang for my buck than I did with just the remote.

Great product when paired with Amazon Alexa
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this item so I could control all my audio gear via Amazon Alexa service. Programmed the hub via the app and then added Alexa control. It was a little confusing at first but that was due more to Alex than Harmony. Everything eventually worked and now I have voice control. This would be great for the elderly or disabled people. I'n neither (yet), just lazy.

Must have for Alexa Owners
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well with the IFFFT apps and Amazon Alexa smart home configuration. Every now and then it simply misfires with not rhyme or reason but when it works and it usually does its a thing of beauty and you wonder how you got along without this modern remote.

Best remote you can get for $100
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've got the Harmony Hub controlling my home theater equipment. No need for a harmony remote if you have a cell phone. My wife and I both have the app running on our phones and for the first time ever, she can understand how to control more of the system than volume and channel (don't know if that's good or not). Switching component and television inputs is done through a simple interface grouped in "activities" which are somewhat equivalent to the macro's on old school smart remotes. Setup can be a little involved, but most 12 or 13 year old's could probably help you if you get in a pinch. I have mine hooked up with an Amazon Echo Dot to provide voice control in addition to the phone app. At age 60, my systems have increased in complexity and i've been through several (more expensive) smart remotes to make system control easier, but I have always been the only one who could understand how to control the system. No more. 'Course I do set up the "activities"... The only issue is that the Android app sometimes gets bogged down for some reason and becomes less responsive. This never happens on my wife's Iphone. When it happens on my phone, a quick uninstall/re-install on my phone fixes it. I have other remote apps running though and think that one of them may be clashing. We both love it.

Makes watching TV/ Movies simple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once this device gets set up on a phone or tablet , it is amazing how much one can do with watching TV. Or movie, or listening to music, regulating household smart devices. I was quite impressed as was my wife once I set up her iPad to do the same.

Great product - upgrading to Hub with Remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially bought this to use along with Alexa to control my TV/Entertainment System. It worked so well that I've decided to upgrade to the Hub and Remote in order to control more devices. The Hub alone is well worth the $ but I wanted even more!

Alexa and the TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've wanted better voice control for the TV, and this gets me closer. The harmony hub really only works with Alexa so far as you can have her turn on/off multiple devices in your AV system. But don't rely on her to change channels or volume.

OCD?
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a love hate relationship, do you need this, no. For me my boyfriend requires no wires no cable boxes everything hidden so this paired with an iPad or our phones solved that issue for us. Alexa deeply upsets me and ignores me though maybe don’t pair it with an Alexa LOL

I would rate this higher...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is great but theres a slight problem Im having with it. I set up 2 activities (listen to music and watch tv) but when i ask it to listen to music while my tv is on, it turns it off and turnson my music system... and vice versa if i had speakers on and ask it to turn on my tv =/

Works - Need to be patient
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hub works but it will take some time to get used to. We are using an iPad and iPhone as the remote and not an actual remote by downloading the Harmony app. The app on the iPad has a different look than on the iPhone. The IR mini blaster HAS to have line of site to tv while the hub Has to be next to your receiver. Therefore, the mini blaster has to be connected to hub but also have line of site to tv. This is only way to be able to use app as the remote. Such as my hub, receiver and directv 4K mini box are in a closet. I have IR mini blaster coming out of closet because the cord is long from IR mini blaster. I called Harmony several times and went to Best Buy. I received different answers from each group. It was a friend who helped me out because he went through same issue.

It works with Alexa!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this specifically to work with the Amazon Echo. Though it took some trial and error, it now works nicely via Yonomi. I'm excited to see what the eventual native Alexa Harmony App will do. I'm considering buying another one regardless.
