Perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price tag is steep and I was not sure if it would be worth it. I ended up biting the bullet after reading up on it a lot. I was looking for something with truly universal control and yet simple enough for the girlfriend to use. This is the one and is worth every penny. The initial setup can take some time since you have to program in the "activities". Once you're done with that it is perfect. Customizable touch screen, hit one thing and all of your device power on and switch to the correct channels. It will even turn off unused devices if you switch to something that doesn't need them (for example, when I switch to my turntable to listen to vinyl). A must buy for anyone with a nice entertainment system and people in the house who are not as tech savvy.

Second logitech Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I bought this one to replace my 6 plus year old remote and set it up just fine. I bought a new receiver after I had it set up and had to change the setting. Was not easy to do and locked up. Called tech support and they were no help. Had to wait for the Christmas rush to end and Best Buy swapped it out no questions asked. Brought it home and reprogramed it and so far so good.

Awesome remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was not to bad took about 30 min but I did have all my devices information like name and model numbers before I started the setup. This remote is really customizable and feels sturdy in your hand. It is a bit pricey but for me it's worth the money as it replaces 4 remotes that I used daily. It's nice now to have one remote and just touch an activity and all the right components turn on and also control all your components with this same remote. I was hesitant at first but pulled the trigger anyway and now I'm glad I did very happy with my new Logitech Remote.

Good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote generally works well, it's nice to have one device control everything. It was a little bit of a challenge to set up, but once set up it was fine. Occasionally it may freeze or not work right, and if I shut everything down and turn it back on it's usually fine.

Good replacement for multiple remotes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote is definitely an improvement over older remotes of the Harmony series. The touch screen is a little hard to get used to but it works fine for me. I originally got the remote by itself and used IR with it rather than RF; I later bought the companion Logitech Hub, which was quite easy to configure to the existing harmony...now I have RF control of all of my devices using just one IR blaster. I sometimes like to watch tv or listen to music in another room that I have an HDMi splitter running an output to from my A/V receiver.

Untested software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit to replace my Harmony 550. The software for it was bullet proof and worked perfectly. This new unit requires new software. It was, apparently, developed by a team that is learning to program. The new software works by temporarily downloading an XML file and running it. (One would think that if it is an XML file it would run under Linux. It does not.) I was trying to use it under Windows. It installed but when running it just hangs or stops half way through. When I called support they said that their software only runs under certain types of internet connections. Their old software works fine under all internet connections! I would not recommend buying new Harmony units until they fix their software or hire people who know how.

Exactly what I was looking for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With our new DirecTV Genie HD-DVR, LG TV, LG Sound Bar and LG Blu-ray Player we had to use multiple remotes (which all look alike) in order to turn on and operate all of the devices. The Harmony Touch solves that problem. It was very simple to set up and it recognized all of our devices including the new DirecTV Genie receiver. Now my wife (a technophobe) can watch TV or Play a DVD by touching one button and the volume buttons properly control the Sound Bar instead of the TV, which the DirecTV Remote couldn't handle. So far, so good.

Great for an enclosed system, but too much for me.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a high-end, enclosed system and you are a real techie, then this is a 5 star gadget. But, my system is not enclosed, and while I figured it out and have been able to use it, my wife and kids now have to come to me and ask me to turn on the TV and change the channels for them. By default, I've become the remote control for the house. So, the complexity took this from labor saver, to work-maker. The RF is a plus if you need it but if you don't, then opt for the less expensive touch model without the hub. The Hub is neat, but do you really want to have to open an app on your phone just to turn the volume down a notch or change a channel or skip commercials on your DVR? By the time I unlock my phone, open the app and log in, I could have grabbed the IR remote and done all of the above several times over. It really is brilliant! But I have to give it only a 4 because FOR ME, it solves problems I never had. But, I can see how others might find it to be a 5.

I'll stick with my Harmony One
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a Harmony One remote for years but wanted to replace it as the tilt sensor was starting to become less responsive. The touch is a "pretty" remote and the screen display is very nice, but there are some things that make it somewhat more cumbersome to use: 1) No physical "page up" or "page dn" buttons like on the H1. They can be programmed as soft buttons on the display but when scrolling through a TV program guide, I prefer the hard buttons. They're easier to find without looking at the remote. 2) There is no physical numeric keypad. You must switch the LCD display to its numeric keypad. I know many of my favorite channel numbers and like to type them in manually to see what's on them. Having to switch the LCD display to get to the numeric keypad is not convenient. 3) I have my H1 programmed so I can control my home automation system. I do this through an activity that leaves all currently on devices alone when I swtich to the home automation activity. After much research online and in discussion boards, I realized the Touch didn't allow leaving current activity devices alone when switching to a new activity. If the devices weren't specifically configured as "on" in the new activity, it turned them off when I switched to that activity. H1 allowed me to switch activities and leave devices on if they were currently on.. 4) No replaceable battery. LIke most rechargeables, this battery will eventually stop charging after enough charging cycles. Since I can't simply buy a new battery and replace it myself, I would then have to buy a new remote when this one's battery starts failing. 5) The main activity display only shows one activity at a time. My H1 shows several activity buttons at a time, so I can simply go directly to the activity I want. With the Touch, unless I want the first activity, I had to swipe several times to get to the activity I wanted. Ergonomically, it's simply not as efficient to use as the H1. Ultimately, I returned this remote and will stick with my H1 for now. If my H1 tilt sensor fails completely, I'll probably just replace it with the same type rather than going to the Touch.

Worst mistake. Awful remote!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been asking for another Harmony remote for the other TV as I LOVE the Harmony 900 we use. My wife bought me one last Christmas. The clerk told her to buy the "new better" 915 HARMONY. Worst mistake. This remote is awful in EVERY way. Hard to handle and hold. Awkward design causes me to hit the touch screen accidentally all the time screwing everything up and trying to figure out how to get back to where I need to go. The touch screen is so big it is very difficult to use any of the other buttons without hitting it unintentionally. The huge design on the bottom makes it impossible to change channels and hold with one hand. There is NOTHING good about this remote & EVERYTHING bad. I have wanted to throw it out the window daily. I want the 900 harmony! Newer doesn't mean BETTER! PLEASE call me I WANT to trade DOWN to the 900 superior remote!

An ergonomic nightmare!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me begin by just pointing out that I am a huge fan of Harmony remotes (I own 4 right now -- 2 650s, a One Ultimate, and the Touch). The fact that I have been so happy with my other models makes the horrendous design flaws of the touch all the more disappointing. I have to say that the notion that this device deserves a 4.2 avg rating is laughable. I wonder if the individuals who gave it a high rating have ever used a well-designed universal (the Harmony One Ultimate, for example). The main issue with this remote is its design... not its function. A remote that is designed ergonomically should rest in your hand comfortably, and the button layout should be intuitive so that users do not have to look down at the remote for common commands. Let's look at the foolishness of this remotes design: - The play, stop, pause, ff/rw, and rec buttons are placed at the top of the remote above the touchscreen, while the guide, info and DVR buttons are at the very bottom. The placement of the buttons above the touchscreen requires a complete reorientation of the device to press play, stop, etc... This is by far the most bizarre design flaw, but not the only one by any means. - When the remote sits in the palm of your hand, your thumb naturally rests at around the exit button (depending on the hand, I guess:), giving relatively easy access to the volume, Dir arrow, select, and channel buttons. - the shift of the thumb to reach the guide button at the bottom is uncomfortable and annoying. Given that the guide button is one of the most frequently used, this gets old very fast. - There number of buttons on the remote is woefully inadequate. One of the greatest features of the harmony series is their button programmability... without many buttons to program, that feature is largely nullified. Instead, one must use the touchscreen buttons. - The touchscreen is big, but it is horribly imprecise. What's worse is that only three (and a little of a fourth) on-screen buttons are visible at a time, requiring users to scroll through the list. This is a real pain when the touchscreen is not precise and very responsive. All of that said, when you do send a command from the remote it performs well. Again, its function is fine (which is why it got 2 stars). Its form is where it misses the mark.

AWESOME remote!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote is awesome! One click, play a game, one click watch a movie, one click watch TV. Set up process was very simple, just need to know how you have all your components hooked up. Once that info is put into the computer, you sync the remote & presto. No need for any other remote. I had an old TV from 2003, which it found in the setup process. All options that were found on original remote that came with the TV were there on this remote.

One to control ALMOST everything
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a must have remote for any home theater application or if you are tired of having a lot of controls to do many actions. I just wish there was an easy solution to solve the RF lighting/climate control where I can use the Harmony remote with the rest of the equipment other than getting a $300+ IR ceiling fan. That would be GREAT. This is the third Harmony remote I have and love all of them. I will never get a different remote.

Expensive but worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of struggling with multiple remotes and multiple combinations of choices for music, video, DVD, cable, Apple TV, etc., I finally bit the bullet and agreed to pay what seemed like a very high price for a "universal" remote. But in terms of ease of use and the time saved, the device is well worth it. In fact, I purchased a second unit for my 86-year-old mother. Initial programing is necessarily detailed and time consuming. You must go online to input the model number of each unit in your system (TV, Blue Ray player, receiver, etc.), and you must use diagrams, which fortunately are intuitive, to show how each unit relates to the others. But amazingly, the Harmony catalog of devices seems to be complete and comprehensive, even recognizing an obscure off-brand sound bar at my mother's house. When, initially, things don't work precisely as planned, troubleshooting is almost automatic. Your Harmony unit will ask you if things are working properly, and when you press "no" it will run through an automatic troubleshooting checklist that almost always fixes the problem and remembers the right setting so as to avoid trouble next time. Manual overrides and a "teaching" mode are also available for the rare time that the automatic system doesn't work. Although initial setup is time-intensive (1- to 2-hours for me), it is nonetheless easy and intuitive, and of course it is a one-time investment of your time. Thereafter, you have only to touch your small Harmony Screen to choose, for example, Cable TV connected to the proper HDMI port ; or Apple TV, or Watch Blue Ray. Gadgets don't often impress me any more. This one impresses me.

Overall, pretty good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty good remote. the touchscreen is a little over rated since you typically use remotes without looking at them. The touchscreen makes impossible to do that. Doesn't work with the fire stick

Fancy, but not very user friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially bought this remote, because we have the same one at work and I LOVE new technology. When I got it home, it was easy enough to set up online, but for practical use, it's not very user friendly IMO. In order to get to the virtual number pad, you have to scroll through various screens. The touch screen is nice, but again, not user friendly. I took it back and got one that did not have the touch screen and am very happy with that version.

Exceeded expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently set up my home theatre which included a Pioneer reciever, Samsung LED Smart TV, Samsung Blu-Ray player, Wii U, And Blue tooth reciever... So as u could imagine, this involved using like 4 different remotes! The online setup for the Harmony touch was extremely easy and user friendly.. I wasn't sure if the remote would also control my smart TV (smart hub) features but it absolutely does with ease! Another unexpected feature that I love is the ability to edit the titles of "activities"... I just touch "Watch Comcast" and it sets up my cable, TV, and rcver.... Or I can select Watch Smart TV and it knows the difference. I had one small problem after initial setup where I would push "Watch Blu-Ray" and it would not switch the reciever to the correct input. I would have to use the help feature which would then automatically correct it. I wound up going online, deleting, and re configuring the activity which solved the problem! This is one of my best purchases in the last 5 years and well worth the money. I would absolutely recommend it to others.
