Does everything it describes and more. Great little remote, just a bit overkill for me. You might want to look into the benefits of buying it with the smart hub to not just have pure IR. RF is where it's at nowadays.

Unable to reach hub. Bring your remote closer to the hub. This is the message on the screen after I remove it from the charger and try to use it for any function. Worst purchase I've ever made. The Peel smart phone app is 10xs better and was 349.00 less than I paid for this piece of junk as it was free. Total waste of money. I can be standing inches from the hub or right in front of any device and the same message pops up o the screen rendering it useless. Don't buy this, download any free app and use your phone to control your devices. This is garbage.I wouldn't recommend this to any one.

I constantly hit the screen buttons accidentally. If dropped, which is often, it will send the wrong signal when you press a button sometimes.

Had to many remotes, now omly one. Logittech is the best by far.

Bought this unit at the same time as our new Samsung 8500 TV. We were interested in only having one remote for our TV, DIRECTV box, Samsung soundbar & PlayStation. I was out of town, so we had Geek Squad set everything up, then show my wife (whom was home), how it all works. Geek Squad set it up, and was explaining how everything works. He told her that this unit will not work with our PlayStation3, and we would have to buy another "box" to make it work. This is where the rub comes in. Best Buy salesmen knew, or should have known, that the popular PlayStation3 would not work with this "Universal" remote. Second, and this is far worse, the Best Buy salesman also knew that the Samsung 8500 that we were buying at the same time COMES with a universal remote! Never even mentioned that!!! Third, Geek Squad setup the remote, but didn't even bother to explain, nor even leave any information about how to further program the remote, for issues like "favorite channels", adding or deleting any equipment, etc. I find these things very disappointing! Back to the unit itself; Ergonomically it's terrible! Worst I've ever held. It is totally unbalanced. Kind of like holding a pear that's been cut in half lengthwise. The controls for pause, play etc are at the top, so you have to try and balance the awkward unit while reaching those buttons, all while trying not to let this expensive, unbalanced remotes roll out of your hand! No, I certainly would not recommend this universal remote to anyone!

Returned this product as i could not control all my devices with IR. If with hub this would have been great. If one has a hub then upgrade from old remote to this would be great. I found this $59 .
