    Inexpensive Keyboard/Trackpad Combo

I purchased this keyboard/touchpad combo for its compact size and its feature set of both keyboard and mouse in one device. I had used a gyration air mouse and compact keyboard before this. The Logitech K400 feels inexpensive. The travel on the keys is good for the type of keyboard. The touchpad is decent and contains the features of most modern touchpads. The wireless range matches the description and does better through interference than some of the other devices I use (wireless presenters and such). Two things I would change if I could. (1) I use the F-keys frequently and with this keyboard you have to hold the FN button down to use them. You can't "lock" the FN key, or at least I haven't found it. (2) To scroll with the touchpad, you swipe down to scroll down. This is opposite of my other touchpads. It would be nice to have the option to change that. If there is, I haven't found it. For the purpose of using this device as a TV interface option, it will do quite well. If using for a wireless keyboard/mouse combo for more robust typing needs, it will work, but you may find better options out there at this price point or slightly higher. The feature set at the advertised regular price gives the Logitech K400 an average rating. However, when on sale for half price or less, it would give this device an above average rating. If not immediately needed, wait for a sale.

My cat walks across my laptop keyboard when I have it on my lap. But if I put my laptop on the armrest of the next couch over, he leaves me alone. I love this keyboard. it's perfect for my lap. it's very light, and since it's wireless, I can easily just put it aside when I need to. I bought it for $20. It seems to be worth much more than that. Very high quality. And for the use I'm getting out of it, that was a bargain.

    Great Media Keyboard

The size is a bit smaller than a standard keyboard but is still comfortable. Track pad is nice for times when you need a mouse. Logitech re-layout arrows key so is not accidentally pressed when you mean to type right-shift. Being a media keyboard, the F-keys are secondary to media functions. So if you use F-keys a lot this keyboard will drive you crazy. Other than that, quality keyboard by Logitech full function with trackpad and long battery life.

This is small and lightweight, perfect to use with our TV since it drives us crazy when on the TV we have to enter long email address, password or do internet searches. Perfect inexpensive keyboard.

It's inexpensive, the touchpad works well, it's as small as it can be and have these full-size parts. Like many other Logitech products I own, it has the Unifying receiver (a tiny USB dongle) so it will even work on older PC's that don't have built in Bluetooth. I got it to use as the "remote" for the PC running my internet TV. It works perfectly.

This is my 3rd Logitech K400 plus And works flawlessly. The reason for being the 3rd is my first after a couple years and dozens of drops on marble floors was finally time to replace. The second was bought for a family member who loved mine and now uses hers exclusively instead of her laptop keyboard. The third one was to replace my first one. The keys are smooth the touchpad responsive with no noticeable lag time. Both my sister and I use ours for controlling laptops projected to a second screen. It works from anywhere in the room (mine is 20'x20') and allows us to keep the laptop closed, preventing dust and dirt from our fingers from gumming up or prematurely wearing out our laptops. Battery life is great! I might have to replace the 2 AA once or twice a year and I don't turn off the keyboard so I would expect the batteries to last much longer if you push the off button when you are not using it. 1 drawback is not having a backlit keyboard but for the amount I use it in the dark and the battery life I receive I find that to be a very acceptable trade off, plus with the built in touch pad and location of the main keys it's still easy enough to operate in the dark by memory. I wouldn't want to type a letter in the dark with it but I'm not a typist and the long battery life and longevity and ability to take so many drops from the bed or couch onto a hard floor before succumbing (still worked it just had some sticking keys) make the Logitech 400 plus a very easy to highly recommend product. Oh another plus is the programmable USB dongle so you can control other Logitech devices if you care too. A+++

    Preferred keyboard for Home Theater

Compact, but well-appointed. Easy setup. Function keys F1-F12 require holding down separate FN key on the bottom row. I think they should be the default on the top row. Also, software support for customization not available for Linux, although keyboard and touch pad operation is nominal, Takes a few days to become accustomed to after full-sized keyboard and separate mouse. Not recommended for office use and high-volume typing or word processing.

This wireless keyboard has everything that I need for a TV-connected computer in a living room. It is compact and slim, does not occupy much space on a coffee table, and is easy to use. Its long wireless range (33 feet approximately) makes controlling TV-connected computer away from the TV so much easy. It also is equipped with a touchpad, which makes PC-to-TV navigating effortless. Besides, the price is reasonable.

I'm not a touchpad person. I always carry a mouse with my laptops, but there are times when a mouse just doesn't have a surface to work on, in which case a touchpad is better then nothing. This Logitech keyboard seems like a good fit for use with a TV-connected PC where you would be using the keyboard on your lap without a desk. It is narrow enough to hold in both hands comfortable and use the touchpad with your right thumb while pressing the "left click" button at the top left of the keyboard with your left thumb. It's light weight and shows economical construction (meaning don't abuse it), but for the price it seems to serve a particular use very well.

I bought this for the company I work for to use in our conference room. It works great an has good range. I would not want to use this keyboard to write a novel but to enter in web addresses, search items, or fill in some information on a web page it works great. I ended up buying a wireless mouse also because some users did not like the touch pad. But from previous experiences with them they did not like other touch pads on laptops either. I found the touch pad to work good.
