This is a very entertaining game for those who don't mind a bit of exploration. You will revisit the same house over and over with a different set of tasks each time. The gameplay is enjoyable, and the characters are quirky and memorable. Kind of like Ghostbusters featuring Luigi. Definitely worth a look.

I didn't think Luigi's Mansion would be a great game at first but after watching some gameplay videos and trying it out for myself I decided to get it. Haven't regretted my purchase since then!

You don't need to play the first Luigi's mansion to get into this one. Finishing the game was a challenge for me but I had a blast.

Much like the original for the GameCube this game doesn't disappoint. Luigi again finds himself exploring haunted locales. The gameplay is challenging (although the difficult can occasionally spike randomly) but fun. Plenty of puzzles to solve as you explore the mansion/towers, etc... that will keep you engaged and thinking throughout. Only complaint is there aren't really any save points in the middle of levels, so don't die! This isn't too much of a frustration though and gives it a cool old-school vibe.

Luigi Shines in this great handheld game

This is a worthy successor to the original, and a reason to get a 3DS if you haven't had the desire. Te graphics are awesome, especially consigning it is a handheld game. The 3D works well, even though I put that on and off. Sound is great and fits the series well. Luigi is a fun character to play as he hums along with the theme music, and reacts to every little thing that freaks him out. Get the game if you are considering it.

I'll get this out of the way first: I would have preferred if this were made for the Wii U. My favorite aspect of the original Luigi's Mansion was the exploration: the fact that you were free to roam the spooky halls of a creepy mansion with no restrictions other than the many keys you needed to find. This was sadly changed in favor of a more portable-friendly type of chapter system, leaving certain parts of the multiple mansions inaccessible when you move on to each further chapter. Otherwise this is another great game by Nintendo and a worthy sequel to the original. Catching ghosts with the Poltergust is just as fun as ever, and it certainly helps that the graphics are nice and colorful and makes full use of the 3D capabilities of the 3DS handeld. It should also be noted how thankful I am that this game does NOT require the circle pad pro to be playable: they could have easily designed the game around that optional peripheral in order to sell more of them but they showed great restraint, allowing the game to be played by anyone with a 3DS. All in all, I'd say that Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is a worthy follow-up to the original and, while certain aspects have changed, it is no less fun now then it was back then - and really, isn't that exactly what a game should be? Fun.

I recently purchased a 3DS XL along with Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. This game is fantastic. The developers put a lot little touches into the game that make it shine. If you're on the fence, go watch a review on a game review website, everyone loves it. I enjoy playing my PS3, but every now and then I love to change gears and have a blast with Nintendo's crowd. I was impressed with the way they integrated online play with this game as well. It would seem like a useless tack on but the design works really well for the gameplay. Luigi's Mansion is a must have for any 3DS owner who enjoys a game that makes great use the 3D effect with plenty of humor and great gameplay to match some of the best graphics I've seen on the system to date.

One of the best on the 3DS

A fun, addicting game that's part exploration, part puzzle solving, and part ghost combat. The controls could use some refinement but players hold get used to them by the end of the first mission. It's fun to explore and use new tools in new and old levels alike to find more hidden goodies. Some ghost fights can be challenging, in part because of the controls, in part because it's just a challenging but fair game. 3D effect is good but not anything remarkable, while the general graphics are quite impressive for a 3DS title. Audio is great with headphones, and the score, sound effects, and "dialogue" (which consists of gibberish and a few words from Luigi) is excellent. A terrific game all around.

The better sequel to an already good game.

I have played the original Luigi's Mansion and enjoyed it. Only downside about it was the short campaign. Seems, from what I can tell, it seems longer as you can always go back to catch the boos shortly before completing the fist mansion. The gameplay is more or less the same as the original. However, to stun ghosts you have to charge up the flashlight so that it let's out a huge beam at the point you start vacuuming them up. What help with catching ghosts with more health, is a meter which fills up and then you press A to deduct a lot more health. I have yet to check out the online multiplayer and some say it is pretty okay.

Terrific sequel to a beloved classic game

The original Luigi's Mansion was one of the first games released for the Gamecube, but it was also one of the best. Nintendo took a big risk by giving Luigi a starring role in a game so wildly different from the usual Super Mario Bros. outings, but what resulted was nothing short of an instant classic. Now, more than ten years since the first game was released in 2001, a sequel has finally materialized in the form of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Next Level Games did a fantastic job with this title, managing to preserve the same entertaining ghost-catching mechanics and exploration-based progression that made the first title such a joy to play while adding a number of new twists to the formula. By far the biggest improvement Dark Moon boasts over the original is providing five different mansions to explore rather than just one. The different environments and challenges of each haunted location helps to keep the game fresh and minimize excessive backtracking. Furthermore, the new gadgets you acquire over the course of the story all add interesting new gameplay quirks that deepen the experience. The graphics are among the best I've seen on the 3DS, and enjoying the game in 3D mode really helps to immerse you in the five different mansions you'll be traversing. The game's atmosphere is delightfully spooky (though never scary), and the interaction between cowardly Luigi and the playful ghosts never ceases to amuse. Additionally, the main storyline is quite substantial, and the sizable number of performance-based goals will keep you coming back in an attempt to beat your high score. Just like the original, Dark Moon is a game so charming you will almost certainly want to play it more than once, giving it great replay value. The online co-op multiplayer modes, while certainly not essential to the experience, are also good fun, though they're unlikely to keep you hooked for longer than a few weeks. In summary, it's hard to think of any game in recent memory that I've had this much fun playing. The only real complaint I can think of is that I wish you weren't pulled back to the Bunker after every mission, as this hurts your ability to explore the mansions at will. However, this design choice does mesh nicely with the game's portable nature by giving you frequent opportunities to save and come back later. While Dark Moon may have toned down the pseudo-horror elements of the Gamecube original somewhat in favor of an even more comedic take on the supernatural, the game is still unmistakeably Luigi's Mansion. And as fans of the original know, that's just about the highest praise I can give it. If you are a fan of the first game, enjoy Nintendo titles in general, or are perhaps just looking for a fresh and fun experience among the uninspired first person shooters that glut the gaming landscape these days, then go ghostbusting with Luigi - you'll be glad you did.

If you loved Luigi's Mansion for the Gamecube, You will enjoy Dark Moon just as much if not better then the GCN outing. Without Spoiling to much, Luigi gets to explore more areas then the previous game, and the Final Boss Fight is different from the last one. If you have a chance to buy this game at it's regular price or on sale get it, because it is worth your money.

My son loves this so much!! A must have for Mario fans it's addicting. He likes that it scares him abit when running into ghosts but he likes the thrill. But it's friendly so that's great. Took him abit longer to complete the game but I like that cause he didn't bored of it. And as of now he still plays it doesn't get old. I see my 11year play it so I think it's all ages. Must have for Mario fans!!
