Mostly a great computer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to this from a late 2014 Mac Mini. First the good. The speed of this mac M1 is fantastic! Start up from off is less than 20 seconds. Most things work perfectly. Apps start up very quickly. The computer runs very cool and is totally silent. On the down side - The one issue that many users complain about is the lack of ports and their location on the back of the mini. I plan to fix that with a hub. I have found that there are some compatibility issues that Apple will probably fix in future updates which is why I gave this computer 4 stars instead of 5. I had no issues with the exact same hardware on my previous mac mini. When I wake up the computer from sleep my Logitech bluetooth mouse works for about 15 seconds then freezes. Turning the mouse off then on is the fix and the problem it's gone until the next time the computer wakes up from the next sleep mode. My Logitech webcam c920 doesn't come on with the native Apple apps like Facetime and Photobooth. Apple support couldn't fix this issue. I have to open Facetime, the webcam lights up but but there is no video. Then shut down Facetime wait a few seconds then restart the app and it works perfectly fine. Apps that I installed that asked permission to use the webcam like Zoom and Logitech Control Center work fine. I'm also having some minor alignment issues printing envelopes using Pages with the M1 and my Brother wireless laser printer. My fix is using my Windows computer when I need to do that.

Love It!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed to upgrade my way outdated iMac (2013) 21.5" desktop. It was just getting super slow. Originally I bought a yellow 24" desktop with 256gb but (long story short) that wasn't enough storage and it caused problems with some kind of incompatibility between the old Intel system, the new Apple system and Migration Assistant when trying to copy files from old to new. But, that said I couldn't find a 24" 512gb at BB. All sold out. So I got the Mac mini with 512gb at a great sale price and haven't looked back. Incredibly happy with this system and I'm now fully integrated into the Apple universe: phone, desktop, laptop.

2020 Apple Mac Mini Desktop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very Quick Startup and Access due to Solid State Drive (SSD). Superior Graphics/Video Capability using one of the USB3 outputs instead of the HDMI output. Caution - IOS (Big Sur) may limit compatibility with some programs or apps. My model is Black, not Silver if that makes a different.

Good but difficult to connect to monitors
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The M1 MM is a great computer...once find a monitor, cable, and adapter. It is not compatible with older monitors and to use dual monitors you need a USB-C to HDMI Adapter (Apple-$60) and HDMI for the second monitor. Will not work with older VGA or DVI monitors.
