thumbs down
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arrived and problems started after several hours trying to make it work. The Bluetooth will not connect properly, , had to use wired keyboard and mouse to make it work, then forced to use a hard wire internet cable because the Wi-Fi not work and after 3 hours on the telephone with apple support, they could not fix the HDMI socket. And to top it all I'm having to pay to return a defective product . Never in my life had so many problems with an Apple product.

Not worth it for the subpar parts used.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not enough ram, not enough storage. The speaker is absolutely terrible. Apple should be ashamed at themselves for this system. It’s basically a beefed up Apple TV with a speaker that sounds like it belongs in an Apple 2E. Video card is trash as well. Returning it as Apple continues to plunge down the same rabbit hole they did in the 90s. To much focus on releasing new products every September for the annual creepy old guys in jeans and turtle necks summit.

More RAM
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A bit buggy. Don’t have too much tabs open or it will crash. Idk how but Facebook alone can use up most of my ram in safari. Otherwise, the machine run well as development unit

Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well with Apple programs but try using chrome or something non Apple and the M1 can’t compete with the previous intel chip.

You need the apple mouse and computer!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You have to buy the apple mouse and keyboard to even get it to setup. After that it’s a good computer.

Maybe a lemon
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Started up fine, ran for 12 hours, then when I unplugged monitor connector cord to disentangle wires, this went off and wont turn on. Not sure what to do next, talking to local repair person (not Geek Squad, with whom I had a terrible experience some time ago).

New M1 MacMini not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned the unit and bought the one with 16 GB memory and 1 TB of storage. I could not use the Migration assistant to move the content of my iMac to the MacMini with the first one I bought. (Insufficient storage message) BestBuy didn’t have the 1 TB storage. I bought it from B&H online. BigSur 11.4 is loaded on it. Now I find out that I have to spend many hundred dollars more to make it work. Filemaker upgrade over 200; scanSnap scanner 400; AccountEdge does not even offer an upgrade; My external CD drive does not work anymore under Big Sur; my printer drivers need to be upgraded; my expensive dye sublimation photo printer does not offer an upgrade. I needed to buy new cables and adapters for a hundre dollars. All together it was not worth it. I will not recommend the new M1 MacMini to anyone.

A Regretful Purchase - 8GB CRAWLS
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No RAM Upgrade possible. It frequently freezes and even when I'm not running many programs or having things open, it runs slow. Very frustrating. I thought this was a piece to invest in. Not so much. Hats off to apple to making things that can't be upgraded, just off to the dump if they don't work any more for your needs. Make sure you find out if you can add RAM to things. This is ridiculous. I was fine with the idea of having to put some extra dough in to upgrade it, but you won't even let us do that.

Apple needs a wake-up call
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to catch up to Apples current and future “in house” processors, …. Having read the rave reviews from past two years. The only thing I notice is the speed that emails are sent. I have encountered several situations that aren’t just apple but not to be left out 1) apple has very absently acknowledged that M1 has Bluetooth issues ongoing for two years, various sites suggesting some steps that can be taken that may or may not fix the issue, This is apples issue they need to fix, … continuity doesn’t work 2). There are issues with finder, hard to believe, something fundamental as a file system with problems, for example, opening a file frequently results in file not found, 2nd try it works.. Recents file list over 70,000 entries, … reading various sites to clear are scary,… if you aren’t careful you can delete your files 3) my seagate external backup 5tb, unencrypted, formatted APFS, was damaged, under warantee with data recovery, they were unable to recover any of the files, not sure I believe them. It’s been 4 months and the replacement drive they promised still has not been shipped 4). I bought a new Dell monitor 4k, they are nice . Hooking it up there are hard to find instructions for installing drivers, .. but reference to a tool for Mac’s to change settings, … isn’t where the instructions say to find it. I connect two machines to the monitor and have to manually (minor nuisance) use the toggle buttons on the monitor. Come on Dell, what’s that about? 5). Apple on boot expects to find an “Apple” keyboard, using Bluetooth keyboard only works using tricks It’s no longer “user friendly” equipment But we do have more emoji and additional colors for iPads and phones Just a final comment, … I use a personal finance program, gnucash They publish with each release all the fixes, and the many reported issues, …. Transparency. It is scary that there are so many “under the hood” dependencies, that apply broadly across devices and maintaining them changes behavior of installations, some all up to date, others, older systems that used to satisfy the needs of a user. Apple at a minimum, needs a better customer support system, where known problems can be quickly located at apple, with the most recent status, users shouldn’t have to rely on other sites with hit or miss fixes Would I recommend this? I bought mine as “time to get current” experiencing increasing problems with 5 year old machine. I do not find that I have fewer problems

Great Value - Better Than the Intel Variant
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The M1 chip is fast for pretty much anything you can throw at it. If you're looking at a Mac Mini, you're probably comparing it to the 8th gen intel variant; this is an upgrade in all directions. Some key things to note, there's less fan noise because the m1 uses less wattage, more performance, and it doesn't hurt that it's cheaper.

JUNK
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worthless! I Have tried well over a dozen times to get it online with NO luck. It recognizes my WIFI but refuses to let me sign on. I didn't buy the guarantee so I will likely just throw it in the trash! I didn't plan on throwing that much money in the trash, BUT - that's where it needs go!! And I would have given it zero stars if I could.

Very unreliable. Basic features are broken!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had too many issues. Mouse was constantly loosing connection. Was not recognizing and configuring the external display properly. Spent several hours with Apple service and they were not able to resolve. Decided to return it finally!

Little Elf does a lot of magic and happy with it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really love this tiny monster. It's very small and can keep it in my desk and work like a desktop computer with powerful processing. The speed is very good. Only thing I would have missed is, getting only 500 GH storage space, I should have gone more. The usability I have given 4 star is because, while connecting the USB, ethernet cord etc. connection is little difficult by holding the system and doing it, but it's not a problem as I connect/disconnect once in a while only. Other than that, everything I like about this Elf!!
