I bought this for my recording studio thinking that it would increase the speed at which ProTools would work. Unfortunately it did not. It does give me more processing power. One other thing my TV does not like it 60hz output. It did fine with my 2012 Mac mini's 60hz out but not this one. Strange.

Great value for the price. Initially I planned to buy the more expensive model but this model has handled my 4k/6k workflow wonderfully.

Small form factor with lots of power. I mainly use this for everyday web surfing and a small time graphics design. Its probably overkill but I love it.

Kind of Power full mac mini with more ports

It is kind if powerful mac mini witj enough ports and bit more pwerformance than laptop version of m1 max. I upgradwd from base m1 mac mini due to 8gb ram which was never enough. M1 Mac mini wirh 16 GB ram is ok for 90 percent of usage. What can i say performance is already provem on the laptop side. The extra one get is enough thunderbolt 4 ports, hdmi and usb A. I am using with two 32 inch lg ultrafine displays with no issues, i can have so many application open and memory is only 16 gb used. If one buying Mac mini with upgrade i would recommend this over mac mini it is far mire future proof with processor and ports. 512 gb storage is plenty as i am using external nvme ssd and cloud. Never store on local drive. Base model is best value in my opinion for 95-99 percent of people.

I have had nothing but trouble. Have Parallels with Windows loaded because I need bith for work, can't get any programs to install. Been at Best Buy Geek Squad for a week now. Had a online session with a Geek Squad tech last Saturday for over 4 hours. This guy deleted all my information and his logs and basically disconnected the session with no notice. Extremely unhappy!

My first Mac desktop. Not disappointed. This is fast. More than capable of handling my business multitasking with four screens. Lots of plugs too is convenient. Quiet to boot. Works great as part of the apple ecosystem.

Quite powerful in even this, the most basic configuration. PhotoShop, Lightroom, etc. work quickly - I never seem to be waiting for anything.

I waited over a year to be able to purchase one of these and it has been one of the great disappointments. From the get go it has been nothing but trouble. I got it so I could run latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop. Photoshop would not install and then had to install Rosetta to use adobe apps. Then photoshop would not run on Monterey so had upgrade to Ventura. Still do not care for the Ventura interface, my old Mojave was better. Then it had trouble formatting an external solid state drive. Had problems writing to hard drive and their tech support worked on problem for 3 days, and turned out it was just the way the OS works, but for some reason their own techs did not know this."haven't seen this before said a senior tech on a screen share session". Have had problems synching external keyboards, though they are all basic Logitech stuff which worked fine with my old Mac tower, but terribly buggy on Mac Studio. Currently my scroll wheel on my mouse, (which is actually plugged in via usb because by wireless mouse stopped working on this machine). After having traveled across town to take my Mac into Apple Store as told by senior online tech person, turns out it was just OS as mentioned above. Told at least I would now be able to buy apple care for a year...but that turned out to be not true. EVERY step of the way has been just terrible. I just wanted to use it for work, and STILL trying to get it to behave. As my title stated, after looking forward to this for a long time, it has turned out to be one of the worst decisions I made. You might be ok if you use everything apple and I do mean everything and you are tech savvy. Apple has a mind set that they don't want you to use other companies devices to work with their precious Mac. Be forewarned the Apple of today is NOT the Apple we knew from years ago. Unless you are a 100 % Apple believer I would stay away from Mac Studio, and Ventura

I purchased my Mac Studio from the Apple store as the store was 10 minutes from my home. I had a 3 year old I7 Acer Spin3 with 12GB of memory and an 1 TB SSD drive. Processing a single photo using DeNoise AI took 2:32 minutes. I initially purchased a new laptop with an I7 12650 processor with an Invidia 3050 Ti video card and the time dropped to 27 seconds!. Sadly the machine had a defective sound card and was returned. I then bought this Mac Studio Max base model. The same photo processed on the Max in 7 seconds. So far the Studio Max has been great. I don't travel with a laptop so for me the desktop model works great. It has the same foot print as the Mac mini but it is about the height of 2 and 1/2 Mac minis stacked. I do recommend the Mac.
