Excellent new MacBook Air
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice and thin with good build quality. Performance is really good. With the new M1 chip the laptop wakes up immediately from sleep, like the iPad does. It’s quiet since there is no fan inside but haven’t had a problem with heat unlike intel versions. The keyboard is so much better now that they went back to the scissor design. Also no one else can match the trackpad on an Apple laptop. For basic tasks it sips the battery so you can easily get a whole day. If you are looking for something portable with good performance this MacBook is perfect for you.

Incredible Power Packed in a Sleek Design
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am absolutely blown away by its performance. The combination of the M1 chip, 8GB of memory, and a spacious 256GB SSD makes this laptop a true powerhouse. First and foremost, the speed and responsiveness of the M1 chip are unmatched. Whether I'm multitasking with several applications open or running resource-intensive tasks, the MacBook Air handles everything effortlessly. It's a game-changer for productivity. The 8GB of memory ensures smooth multitasking, and I haven't experienced any lag or slowdowns, even with multiple browser tabs, documents, and applications running simultaneously. The efficiency of the M1 chip truly shines through in day-to-day use. The 256GB SSD provides ample storage space while keeping the laptop lightweight and portable. It's incredibly fast, allowing for quick boot times and near-instantaneous application launches. Plus, the Space Gray color adds a touch of sophistication to the sleek design. The MacBook Air's Retina display is vibrant and crisp, offering an immersive viewing experience for both work and entertainment. The battery life is exceptional, easily lasting me through a full day of use without needing a recharge. The MacBook Air with the Apple M1 chip is a phenomenal investment. Its powerful performance, efficient design, and impressive battery life make it an ideal choice for anyone in need of a reliable and capable laptop. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Great option
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple MacBook Air is an outstanding laptop, performance, and portability. Its impressive Retina display, powerful M1 chip, and long battery life make it a top choice my school lifestyle, professionals, and casual users alike. The limited port selection drawbacks since I want to plug up many things in at once, the overall package makes the MacBook Air a worthwhile investment for those seeking a reliable and high-performing ultrabook.that’s light weight and durable. Well Done Apple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's everything I expect from a laptop. Plus it gives me all of that with zero fan noise (because there's no fan). Every app opens instantly, the display is awesome, and the battery life is the best around. We're really getting what we pay for with this. I've been trying to figure out what device I want and kept exchanging laptops at Best Buy because I kept running into issues with build quality, performance, and speed with other laptop manufacturers. I'm keeping this. It's everything I want and I'm finally happy with a laptop that meets my needs of what a laptop is supposed to do. Sure some might complain it's only 8GB of RAM. But I've had no issues with performance and had many windows open at a time with all sorts of different programs. I don't think saying oh it's just 8GB of RAM is a valid tech argument in the case with this laptop unless you're in a situation where you are multi-tasking while doing a production job that demands a high amount of RAM dedicated to it. At which point you're a professional and you know full well you should be using a high-end desktop for such a use-case which due to cooling capabilities of desktops will beat out any current laptop on the market. I myself have a desktop for such tasks and use it on occasion as needed. Plus I suspect you can just remote into your desktop from this MacBook Air (if not now then when it's soon supported) to do the same work anyways. The bottom line is this is a well built and well performing laptop that does what you want it to do and gives you what you would expect from a laptop of it's caliber and class.

Bought for School Laptop—even better than expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first MacBook I have ever owned. It was a bit of a foreign device for the first few hours of use, but I feel the setup is so intuitive and user friendly it would come very naturally to virtually anybody using it. I bought it as an upgrade from an old laptop that simply was not meeting my needs as a college student and it checks all of my boxes. It’s fast, reliable, easy to use, holds its charge for a great amount of time, is small enough to fit in my backpack, and the keys on the keyboard are quiet. If you’re considering, ESPECIALLY as a school laptop, I think it fits the bill perfectly. It interfaces very neatly with other apple products, which was a draw for me though I didn’t think it’d help as much as it does. I don’t have social media apps on my laptop, so when I get texts while I’m working I can just quickly respond and get right back to work without risking a 2+ hour social media detour. The M1 chip is powerful enough to easily get through any school work I have (quizzes, exams, papers) and, with the M2 chip now out in the most current MacBook Air, the M1 is priced at what I feel to be entirely reasonable for the device you get. It is absolutely still expensive, but you get what you pay for with tech. My former laptop (a chromebook) was a fraction of the price, with a fraction of the capability. Love love love this laptop, and highly recommend it to anybody considering it.

It’s super fast, even with a bunch of tabs and apps open. The battery lasts all day, which is a huge plus. It’s really light and easy to carry around, and the screen looks great. For everyday stuff like browsing, streaming, and work, it handles everything easily. Definitely a great laptop for the price.

The best keeps getting better!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 11 year old MacBook Air hadn’t died yet, but I was concerned about how difficult it might be to start all over on a new one… if I waited until it didn’t work anymore. I heard that it wasn’t as simple as an IOS devise (iPhone, iPad). I’ve had old phones completely die, and then get a new one and easily moved everything from iCloud. When I saw how cheap the new ones were ($899 on sale at Best Buy vs $1299 when I bought my last one 11 years ago) I decided it was time (actually, it was easy. The new mac walked me through transferring my preferences, apps, documents, etc. from the old Mac via a peer to peer on my home WI-FI). I was sold on the flash storage on the old MacBook Air (vs the slower, but larger mechanical hard disks), but the larger flash storage combined with Apple’s new M1 chips are absolutely AMAZING! This thing is INSTANT ON! The retina display is a great improvement too! Apparently, the new M1 chip runs so efficiently that the battery seems to last forever. Plus, they dissipate heat through metal to completely eliminate the need for a fan (I don’t miss the fan noise and the slowdown I used to get when the computer was doing a lot of work). They made the outside dimensions smaller without really changing much for the user. The screen size is the same 13” but has less metal around it. Somehow... it still seems strong. The trackpad is larger too. I should try to find something negative to say as well. I miss the tradition “look” of the lighted logo, but I read that they removed it for good reason (but, that actually did more for Apple than for me). There appears to be a problem with sharing high resolution YouTube videos on my Apple TV. It changes the resolution on my computer and shrinks everything… including the text and buttons down to the point that I have to go get a magnifying glass to see or read anything at all... and return the resolution to the normal usable setting. I'm pretty sure that there will be a software fix in a future update to address this issue. Other than the Apple TV issue, almost everything about this MacBook Air is better… and by a LOT! It’s a heck of a deal!

Worst performance from MacBook
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never I have seen a MacBook behave in this crazy way! All of a sudden, my Mac Air just stopped working. There was a small pop sound and a bad smell from the system. Had to leave the house. it is not turning after. Worst ever performance from a Mac.

Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently picked up a MacBook Air with the M1 chip from my local Best Buy, and I’ve got to say, I’m really impressed with this machine. Walking into the store, I wasn’t 100% sold on it—I’d heard the hype about the M1 chip, but I wanted to see it for myself. The staff were super helpful, let me mess around with a demo unit, and after about 10 minutes of playing with it, I was ready to take one home. I went with the 13.3-inch model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD in Space Gray—kept it simple since I mostly use it for work, streaming, and some light photo editing. First off, the in-store experience at Best Buy was smooth. They had it in stock, and I walked out with it in like 15 minutes—no delays, no hassle. The price felt fair, too, especially since I caught it during a small sale, which knocked a bit off the usual $999 tag. Unboxing it at home, the design hit me right away—super sleek, lightweight, and that Retina display is just gorgeous. It’s crazy how something this thin can feel so solid. Performance-wise, the M1 chip lives up to the buzz. This thing boots up in seconds, apps open instantly, and I’ve yet to hear the fan kick in—not that the Air even has one. I’ve had a dozen Chrome tabs open, Spotify playing, and Photoshop running, and it doesn’t even flinch. Battery life is wild, too. I charged it fully when I got it, and after a few days of regular use, I still had juice left. Probably get a solid 15-18 hours out of it, which is a game-changer compared to my old laptop that needed a plug every few hours. Overall, buying this MacBook M1 from Best Buy was a solid move. It’s fast, reliable, and feels like it’ll last me years. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it—especially if you can snag it in-store and skip the shipping wait. Five stars from me.

One of the best computers ever made.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this laptop for 2 years now and I can still say with total confidence that it's a good buy in 2023. This laptop will last the average person until 2030 if not longer. That's a ridiculous value for the total cost of ownership, so all that's left for you to decide is this: Is this laptop capable of doing everything you need it to do? Even though it's 2 years old and the lowest spec'd and cheapest laptop Apple currently sells, I think for 99% of people the answer is YES! The M1 chip is up to some crazy witchcraft. That's the only way to explain how the battery lasts so long, how the computer is so fast, and how portable it is. Don't worry about the 8GB memory, it's enough for almost everyone. Storage might be a different story. If you need more than 256GB, I highly recommend buying a portable SSD. It's way more cost effective than upgrading the internal storage. Compared to Windows laptops that cost the same, this computer is remarkably premium. The display is excellent, the keyboard and trackpad are some of the best in any laptop ever, and even the speakers are pretty good. The all aluminum construction is very durable and looks great. There are better laptops on the market but they all cost significantly more than this one. If you are not playing a lot of new video games and you don't need to use applications that only work on Windows, and you don't need a bigger screen (or a touchscreen), this is probably the right laptop for you.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Mac after being a Windows user for life! It’s been a pretty seamless transition after the initial shock passes. Everything is so easy and I love how the whole ecosystem ties into my iPhone and other Apple products. MacBook has a super high quality build, powerful, fast, lightweight, great battery life, and stylish. Scored an amazing deal thanks to Best Buy sale and student discount. I’m a happy shopper!

Awesome Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Mac. I bought for my wife (she’s the guinea pig). He last computer was purchased in 2012 and was an HP with an I3. It still works, but has the typically Windows slowdown and poor battery life. This laptop has fantastic battery life and a blazing fast M1 chip. It’s light and Mac OS feels very light and airy. So far we are getting adjusted just fine and it’s proven to be a great purchase. The price is great too. Good luck finding an Intel machine with this kind of power and battery life at this price. I highly recommend it!

Great daily driver
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MacBook Air is a slim, lightweight laptop that offers excellent portability and a sleek design. It has a high-quality Retina display that delivers crisp, clear visuals, making it ideal for tasks such as photo and video editing. Additionally, the keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the trackpad is smooth and responsive. One of the standout features of the MacBook Air is its battery life, which can last up to 12 hours on a single charge, depending on usage. This makes it an excellent choice for people who need to work on the go and don't want to be tethered to a power outlet. The MacBook Air also boasts a powerful M1 chip, which provides fast performance and seamless multitasking. It runs macOS, which is known for its user-friendly interface and reliability. However, there are a few downsides to consider. The MacBook Air only has two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, which may be limiting for some users who need to connect multiple peripherals simultaneously. Additionally, while the M1 chip provides excellent performance, it may not be compatible with certain older software programs. Overall, the MacBook Air is an excellent choice for people who value portability, sleek design, and reliable performance. Its long battery life and powerful M1 chip make it a standout option in the laptop market.

Beautiful And Amazing Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by stating that I am not an Apple fanboy. I have to use Apple products at work and did not like them. The new MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop with the Apple M1 chip has changed my mind where a laptop is concerned. The build quality of this laptop is amazing and beautiful. The exterior design with a satin-smooth finish and industrial look are very premium. The Space Grey color is gorgeous and does not show fingerprints. I am not great at typing, but this keyboard is a pleasure to type on with a decent amount of travel and a pleasant click to the keys. I can work on the laptop for hours without any issue. That said, the battery life of the MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop lasts all day for me. I have only had a couple of times where I needed to attach the charger before I returned home. I do wish that there was a USB charging port on either side of the laptop but can live with it only being on the left side. I am not a power user, but from simple word processing to video editing this machine blows through any task that I have thrown at it. It has not gotten warm on my lap and cannot believe that it does not have a fan. No matter what I do it does not heat up and there is no noise from fans. Amazing! It truly is a pleasure to use this laptop. I tried connecting the laptop to the two external monitors I have, but it only works with one. I have not been able to find a way to make this work. I could see this being an issue for anyone wanting to use two monitors. You can use the laptop and an external, but that is not the same. If you like the Apple experience, this would be a no-brainer purchase. If you don't know if you would like an Apple laptop, I would suggest visiting a store and to try typing on one. I would recommend the MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop with the M1 chip to anyone.

Great MacBook Air!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just replaced my 7-year-old MacBook Air, and I couldn't be happier. I got the rose gold one, and it is so pretty. Pros: The battery is so much better than my previous Air. The speed is also greatly improved. And I love how lightweight it is. I also didn't notice it at first, but I recently realized there is no fan noise. Loving that! Cons: The only cons, so far, are the ports. I knew they were different from my previous Air when I purchased it, but it is a bit of a downer.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased brand-new on 22nd March 2023 which is exactly 1 year, 5 months & 10 days ago at the time of writing this review. Currently running macOS 14.6.1 with a battery health of 90% & around 50 charge cycles. All I have to say is this is the best laptop I have ever touched/owned/used in my entire lifetime. I especially love the Gold color it’s a real head turner every time I take this laptop out in public or in meetings. The performance of this beast of a machine is out of this world & it just blows everything else out of the water. Battery life is also pretty amazing. I just love the portability of this at 13.3” it’s the best size for a laptop, easy to carry around & fits perfectly into any backpack or carry case/sleeve. Speakers, mics, webcam & display are unbelievably great for what it is. Everything is just so smooth & snappy. I’m just so in love with this machine.
