MacBook Air
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It offered a good balance between price and performance, making it an attractive choice for many users. In summary, as of 2021, the MacBook Air with the Apple M1 chip was widely praised for its remarkable performance, exceptional battery life, silent operation, and improved value for the price. However, users should consider software compatibility and specific application needs when transitioning to an M1-powered Mac. Keep in mind that there may have been updates or newer models with further improvements released since then, so it's advisable to check the latest reviews and user feedback before making a purchase

MacBook Air Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Mac device and I love this laptop. I can carry it anywhere the operations are smooth as well as user friendly. It is light and the keyboard requires just a light touch. I purchased a mouse but I find I am not using it as I would with the desktop. The only thing missing is a touch screen.

Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to experience significant upgrades in an apple computer, then the MacBook Air with the M1 chip is definitely the one to buy. It's one of the fastest and most cost-efficient choices for a computer where technology has come together to create a tremendous change in experience for laptop computer users. Between Apple's proprietary M1 chip that is fanless, solid state hard drive, retina screen display and upgraded sound system, an incredibly extended battery life before the need to recharge and much more, the new apple technology literally constitutes the wave of the future. The overall performance enhancements clearly put you in the driver's seat and establish considerable measurable distance from the previous evolution of computing in general. Literally every detail has been given attention to improvements with the end-user constantly in mind. Speed of processing is near instantaneous and regardless of software program complexity, the MacBook Air M1 simply sets it all in motion at blistering speeds. While some complain that apple products are costly, the advantages of becoming part of the apple technology environment makes it worth every penny. The seamlessness between apple products is yet again another favorable feature and whether for business or pleasure, you'll find yourself able to be completely connected throughout your array of apple devices. They've literally captured the market in our opinion because their focus upon technology and consumer needs is unparalleled by the competition. It's very safe to say that switching to the apple family of products means never having to look back because the company is constantly taking its consumers forward at an ever faster pace. You should also be on the lookout for the new M2 processing chip and related products that will be driven by it, many of which are projected to be out sometime this year. Very frankly, the experience of using our apple products on a daily basis is one that we look forward to with the complete confidence that we're interfacing with the technology around us using the best possible assets. Throughout our entire experience with apple products since 2011, we've never once encountered problems. Not once, and it represents a shining example of quality control, attention to detail and the constant look well forward into what consumers need most in technology and reliability. So, thank you! You guys are awesome!

MacBook Air
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new MacBook Air laptop computer is a delight. It is fast, easy to use, and very light to carry. I took it on a weekend break and used it all the time. It never slowed down or let me down. The Geek Squad couldn't have been more helpful in setting it up and helping me trade-in my old Mac laptop.

LOVE this macbook
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first apple laptop i've ever purchased (owned other apple products) an i must say it's pretty impressive. It came with a great security protection plan that covered the application for 6 months so that's a plus. The color i wanted was easy to get my hands on. The laptop its self is very slim an not heavy whats so ever! An the best thing i'd have to say is it makes no noise while in use for a long time (no otter fan) . The downfall to me was that is doesn't have the usb port option that alot of other computers do but not really a huge deal considering this laptop does have endless apps to do things. It also keeps it's charge for a long time which is great for my schooling that i do online. I'm just your average computer person nothing super fancy that i'm using it for so I'd def give it 5 stars

Good computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great buy for use in a small business that depends on speed and stability. The MacOS is quick, has plenty of memory for what I need. Its lightweight. Down side is the 2 micro USB ports, and the small screen for the large price. Would like to have ports two on each side like my MacBook Pro, and a slightly bigger screen. Have to buy adapters to expand or have more than one thing connected if you are charging. First time convert from Mac to windows and had to relearn shortcuts and how the window and desktops work, but well worth the relearn. Would recommend it to any one.

I am TOTALLY blown away by this laptop!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am TOTALLY blown away by this laptop! I haven't been a mac user since high school and quite literally figured since I have an iPhone and an Apple Watch, might as well move on to an Apple computer. And this thing doesn't disappoint! Many speak of the hype surrounding Apple's new M1 chip. It's no joke. This thing is fast. Possibly less important but still blows my mind every time are the speakers! Neatly tucked along the sides of the keyboard, these speakers produce the most "surround sound"-like audio I've ever heard from any computer. Use caution when watching true crime documentaries. This computer is thin, light, clean, yet durable. And with all things Apple, it has that sleek Apple look that everyone loves. In a perfect world I would ask for an original USB A port but we all know USB C is the future, as well as cloud storage, etc. All the things that make our lives easier. But overall I'm absolutely pleased with my purchase. A definite would buy for most anyone!

First Time MacBook Owner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never owned a MacBook, despite having an iPhone for YEARS. I was always afraid to take that leap because I was so used to all the other computers I’ve owned in my lifetime: Dell, HP, Asus, etc. Quite frankly, I was scared of change AND could never see me coughing up the money to purchase an apple computer. Well, when my non-apple computer took a dump on me, I was at crossroads - do I purchase a MacBook or should I go back to what I know because it’s cheaper? My husband convinced me to go with the Mac, and purchased it for me for Mother’s Day. I LOVE IT!!! if you are already an iPhone user and are familiar with all its functions, you will absolutely fall in love. It’s fast, slim, and so easy to use! I’m still getting familiar with it, but I have no complaints this far! Will update this review if and when I think of anything else!

Great Laptop that has stood the test of time.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop. I’ve been an MB Air user since 2011. That machine still works. I've used the new one for over 2 years, and it represents the aesthetics, functionality, size, and beauty that made me fall for the original MBA. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering another that only had 256 GB of storage capacity (thinking I had all of the memory I needed with cloud storage), but today, IMO, 256GB is not enough to run the operating system, browse the Internet, and have basic software applications loaded. I highly recommend purchasing a MacBook Air just due to its overall functionality, but in doing so, please get one with enough memory to handle your intended purpose.

Awesome lightweight laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mostly on a whim, as I was thinking of downsizing from my Dell G5SE as my daily carry. I was pleasantly surprised. This is so much lighter, and the battery life is amazing. The screen is bright and clear. The sound is pretty incredible for the size of this chassis. It handles everything quickly that I have thrown at it thus far. USB-C only takes a little getting used to, but not a deal breaker. If you're looking for something lighter than a MacBook Pro that is in the Apple ecosystem, this is the one. Well, I say that as they just announced the 15" model. I didn't think the "Air" models could do much. I was wrong.

The sleek design is complemented by impressive performance and a stunning Retina display. The battery life is remarkable, keeping me productive throughout the day. M1 Macbook Air still good today!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although purchasing this M1 Macbook Air 3 years from its release, this is indeed still very good for what it is. It has the Touch ID, great keyboard, fast for its specs, great screen, and I actually like the old Macbook Air design. Since this will be the last generation, I am glad to have purchased it knowing it will last a very long time. Although I wish I could have more SSD storage, I also know how to minimize space on the SSD and utilize cloud storage. Very light and portable and great battery life. Highly recommended and you should wait until deals come out. You can get it for $749! It's a steal for that price.

The Apple 13.3" MacBook Air has proven to be just that and more. First and foremost, its lightweight design is a blessing for my aging shoulders, allowing me to effortlessly transport it between classes and study sessions. The Retina display is a marvel to behold, providing clarity and sharpness that my tired eyes truly appreciate during long hours of reading and research. What truly sets this laptop apart is its seamless performance. Powered by the Apple M1 chip, it handles my scholarly pursuits with grace, effortlessly juggling multiple tabs, documents, and applications without skipping a beat. This is particularly valuable as I navigate the demands of graduate-level coursework and research. The keyboard is a joy to type on, with keys that offer just the right amount of tactile feedback, making extended writing sessions a breeze. Additionally, the trackpad's precision and responsiveness enhance my productivity, allowing for seamless navigation through documents and web pages. Despite my initial apprehension about adapting to new technology, the MacBook Air's user-friendly interface and macOS Catalina have made the transition remarkably smooth. From organizing my schedule with ease to collaborating with classmates, this laptop has become an indispensable tool in my academic arsenal. Good for what it is
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't tend to use Apple products outside of Apple TV and iPad Pros. I have had MacBooks provided by my employers in the past so I'm at least able to navigate MacOS OK, but I wanted something to really experiment with without worrying about ruining company equipment. I'm used to using heavier gaming laptops with larger screens, so this feels almost like a toy. It's incredibly light, has what I would consider insane battery life and is... fine. I've been looking around for apps or uses that Macs are outstanding at (and yes, I realize it's an Air and not a Pro) but so far the only application I've used where it noticeable outperforms any of my Windows laptops is with Ableton Live 11. There is no noticeable lag using my MIDI keyboards and controllers, where with my Windows laptops it's not possible to record live without turning off the speakers because the lag is so bad. The interoperability with my iPad Pro is pretty impressive. I haven't really dug into what's possible yet, but have used my iPad as a second display and the setup is simple and seamless. I'm still trying to dig into use cases for this MacBook vs my windows laptops and there aren't many. It's not capable of being a primary gaming system, though it can easily handle some of the less intensive Mac-compatible games I have on Steam. I may be using it as my primary music recording/producing system going forward, though. And it's so light and capable enough that I can easily see using this first when I go on vacation or just want a laptop with me to use at a cafe or wherever. I suspect my initial rating may change with more use and my limited experience with Macs in general makes it difficult for me to evaluate the M1 chip. Bottom line, I'd say if portability is your highest priority and you don't need high performance for gaming or intensive creative work, it's pretty decent. Though you could probably get by with a Windows laptop for half the price for general computing.

An Amazing Achievement
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: If you need a non-gaming laptop and can live with MacOS, this is definitely what you should buy. As an avid Windows user who's always been wary of Apple's marketing tactics, form over function design philosophy, and anti-consumer business practices, I was highly skeptical I could ever enjoy a product from this company. That was until I got my hands on this laptop. Those aforementioned problems, while real, cannot get in the way of my enjoyment of this computer. It boots insanely quickly, is snappy in every task I throw at it, and even outputs 120hz to a 5120x1440p monitor with ease. And it does this all without a fan. Plus, it gets 2 days of battery life (in my experience). I can't believe this is only Apple's first attempt at an SoC. With all of that said, I hope Apple doesn't make it a pain to repair. Otherwise, these will end up in landfills. I sure hope not, considering their supposed interest in the environment.

Great Laptop, but the M1 Chip is less functional
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a personal laptop to use along side my work laptop (a MacBook Pro). For all intents and purposes, it's just as fast and reliable as my Pro, and significantly cheaper. It has no internal fan so doesn't ever get loud like the pro does, and surprisingly it has never gotten overly hot or overheated despite being used for hours at a time. It's just as fast, if not faster than the pro, which is one of the selling points for the M1 Chip. Speaking of, as usual, Apple has gotten greedy and decided to no longer rely on outside CPUs (Intel), as my pro and previous models did. Performance/speed is the big differentiator between the processors, but I don't use this computer for much of anything where this increase is super noticeable. Sure, programs load a bit faster, but the difference isn't super noticeable, to me at least. One BIG con to the M1 chip for me, is that I've already noticed that it's less functional when it comes to certain things. For instance, I have multiple external monitors that I constantly hook up to both my work and personal computer. Intel allows for the Pro to operate on multiple screens without any external drivers. The M1 Chip however, currently only supports the ability to use ONE external monitor. I thought at first that something was wrong with my Air when I first got it home and could only get one monitor to work, despite having two monitors connected, the same way I do with my Pro. I ended up researching this though and found that the M1 chip simply does not support this. However, apparently this is something that Apple has mentioned should be available later, via an IOS update. While I hope this is true, Apple hasn't exactly been open and honest about upgrading current features/abilities, so I'm not holding my breath (do yourself a favor and check forum boards relating to calendar in pane on the Apple Outlook app, a feature that's VERY valuable on the PC version that has hundreds of thousands of requests, but Apple still won't make this simple update). If they do upgrade the M1 chip in a timely manner, then my review would go to 5 Stars. However, if this and other updates aren't made, I'd say that you're better off going with a previous model with the latest Intel Core processor.

From Windows to Mac - And I Love It
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello from a former Windows laptop user! My Dell laptop was getting a bit dated and lugging it around (15.6” behemoth) was getting old. I was looking for a new, slim Windows laptop running an i7 and a bright screen. Everything I looked at was in the 1000+ range with compromises if I wanted to stay right around 1K. After watching a number of reviews on Macs (and more importantly this M1 Air) I was sold. Luckily Best Buy was running a promo on open box items and I was able to get this in like new certified condition for $780. It came as advertised and setup was quick and easy since I already had an Apple ID as an iPhone user. The transition from Windows to Mac was relatively easy. Using Linux in the past proved to be beneficial. For those who have only ever used Windows XP to Windows 10, it might take a bit to adjust. Bottom line, I love everything about this laptop. It’s thin, fast, has an incredible screen and battery life is amazing.

Awesome Battery Life
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Macbook purchase and my first time using Apple OS as my primary operating system. I do have an iMac but I hardy ever used as I primarily used a laptop. The price of a Mac has always been a primary reason why I never got one. After years of using PC laptops I decided to take the plunge and go with the Mac. I am not disappointed. The battery life on this is amazing. Even with doing video calls and watching movies it still keeps going. None of my PCs could ever to that. The only con is that it has only two USB-C ports and no SD card slot, it does have a headphone jack) I had to buy an adapter that gave my three USB ports, and HDMI port and a slot for a SD card. I knew that going in as my son bought the same macbook a few months earlier. I've had it for about three weeks and I can't say that I have had no issues with software compatibility or operation. Really love the light weight, lighted keyboard and size.
