Long time Madden player with mixed feelings.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Graphics Excellent. Gameplay not so much. Madden has not provided an acceptable emphasis on the defensive aspects of the game since Madden 20. Defensive backs constantly abandoning their zones, rushing forward and leaving receivers wide open. In Madden 23 I see a return to the AI defensive backs having the ability to jump too high to deflect\intercept the pass, and some of the games seem to be scripted in favor of the AI. The running game is much too powerful. The only way to compensate for all of the deficiencies in gameplay is tweaking the sliders, and even this is mostly an exercise in frustration. The game should be modeled on the player ability levels of the teams and not need to be dependent upon sliders. I find myself constantly returning again and again to Madden 20 where at least I can experience a decent level of gameplay by tweaking the sliders. I am a Franchise player, never play online due to the arcade feel of it and the exploitation of the many flaws in the program design. I only want a decent simulation of the pro football game that is designed for a 60 minute game duration. Madden seems to be designed for a much shorter simulation that leads to too much scoring and is probably slanted toward the online player. I couldn't care less about MUT or the playground or any of the other stuff - that stuff is mostly for kids who really don't care about a real pro football sim in my opinion. But the bottom line is that Madden is the only sim out there and I will keep on hoping they fix the issues I've mentioned, I understand how difficult it must be to model something so difficult as a pro football game, having done some programming myself in the past. Bottom line for me, maybe they should split it into two games, one version for the offline franchise players like me who want a realistic sim, and one for those who want an online or arcade type of experience.

Epic failure
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worse than madden 22. Tracking and rewards don’t work more than a month after release. It’s the worse pay to play game I’ve experienced. Doesn’t utilize next gen console.

I will make you a better deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Madden 23 is absolutely terrible as you would expect. I can make you a better deal though. You pay me 70$ and i will remove the madden 22 cover from your old disk case and put the new madden 23 cover on it. BOOM, you already have madden 23. Or you can go to an atm, pull out 70$, and put it in the nearest trash bin. That also works the same.

Broken
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new face of the franchise is completely broken. The save randomly creates multiple of your player in league and changes up their core position randomly. It is not fun when you play a game for 3 hours and then lose all your progress because of a bug.

New year same game (not a good thing)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buggy, sloppy, poor franchise mode, still doenst have alternate helmets for some teams. Just lazy and sloppy effort on the part of EA. #fixmadden
