My new Maytag washer is soooooo much better than my old Cabrio. The low water feature provides enough water to get my clothes clean. I love the center agitator feature and there are so many choices of water temp and agitator speed. I wash EVERYTHING in this machine, even hand wash items. Great machine,

    DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WASHER!!!!

Please do not buy this washer! If I could give this washer 0 stars I would. We replaced our older model washer (we replaced it because of a few minor issues but it actually got our clothes clean) that we purchased used from a yard sale 7 yrs ago with this one and I totally regret it. It absolutely does not get our clothes clean. It couldn't even get dirt off my sons shorts. I've tried a combination of all the settings and I've tried using different laundry detergents and it still won't get our clothes clean. We are past the 15 day period to return/exchange it and we didn't get a warranty on it because we didn't think we would need one for a brand spankin new washer so we can't have someone from best buy come out and service it. The only option we have is to have someone from maytag come out and service it which I'm sure we would have to pay a pretty penny for.

We purchased a Maytag MEDX655DW dryer and opted NOT to get the exact matching washer as it didn't have an agitator. This model was a little cheaper with many of the same features, but has an agitator, stainless steel drum and minimal touchscreen/lights/etc. to break. Very happy with this model so far and has just the right amount of settings no matter what we throw at it. Looks similar to the dryer we purchased, but just a little bit different. Nothing too noticeable really. Don't really need all those bells and whistles with front loader and pre-soak and digital displays. Just wash the clothes. And, it does that in spades.

I've been extremely pleased with my new Maytag washer! Its best feature is the large-capacity tub. I recently washed an oversized comforter (I'm talking REALLY big, and down-filled), and the washer handled the big job with ease. I also like all the options for washing all kinds of loads, and particularly appreciate the water sensor feature. Now I can wash just a few items, and know that water won't be wasted.

Easy to use washer that has all the options I need. I like having extra rinse options to make sure that my clothes don’t get dingy. I’m 5’2” and can barely reach the wet clothes on the rear of the tub. Shorter people may need a step stool to reach the bottom of the tub.

I had a Maytag 3.2 dual action wash machine for 13 years I was very happy with it it was time to retire it so I bought the Maytag 4.2 dual action washing machine. I've had it since Aug 29 a over two weeks now and I am very happy with it. I love the differ settings very easy to operate. My clothes get washed fast and the machine runs quiet. The machine final spin, spins so well that the clothes don't take long at all to dry in the dryer.

Plain and simple clothes washing machine. We've had it a year or so, now, and it's perfect. It does everything our dead fancy machine did without the confusion or breakdowns. And we paid so much less... a really reasonable deal. We are very happy. It functions perfectly. And the installation team saved our old backs from potential disasters. Thanks very much!

Very happy I stayed with Maytag, they have a quality product and this machine is perfect. It has just what I needed and nothing fancy. Has more room than my last machine and I really like that the lid doesn't lock until the spin cycle which allows me to throw in an extra item.

    Patience Is a Must

I get that the new washing machines are eco friendly and are created to save water, who wouldn't want that. BUT, when you have a full load needing to be washed and the total amount of water the machine thinks is needed is about a quarter of the amount, you end up with clothes that aren't washed at all. The only ones that end up being washed are the ones at the very bottom soaking up the water, which means that the clothes on top end up as dry as they were when you first put them in. It doesn't matter what you are washing, or whether you choose to select 2 rinses or deep water, your clothes aren't washed properly. I've had this machine for about 2 weeks and I've had to get the hose and turn it on inside the machine to ensure the clothes on top are soaked and washing. But that only works for the first half of the cycle because once it rinses it goes back to filling up only a quarter of the way. Unless you want to be next to the washer for a full hour to ensure the proper water level is being used, you'll have to be doing 2 or 3 cycles to ensure ONE LOAD is washed properly unless you only wash a VERY SMALL Load.

We are sorry you are unhappy with the design of the washer. The Department of Energy standards state how much water any water-based appliances can use, and our washers meet all of their stringent guidelines. We would recommend balling up the clothing similar to the size of a soccer ball, and place around the agitator one at a time. We would also recommend stacking it up so it is around the sides and the agitator plate is visible with all of the clothing around it. Do not fill up past the 2nd to the last row of holes in the basket to help avoid overloading. The bulky cycle will allow more water to enter the tub, but will not spin on the highest spin setting. We are sorry that you are unhappy with the design, and can note your concerns. MaytagBrand

We have named our washer The Sloth. Big, slow and unimpressive. Don't let that great big tub fool you into thinking it can handle large loads. You can fill it up with clothes but they won't get clean. The water level won't rise above about 40% of the tub no matter what setting you use. The clothes on top will go through the entire wash cycle never getting wet, or clean. The "agitator", doesn't. The water barely moves. We have to put the machine on Power Wash with Deep cycle and load it light to get all the clothes clean. This machine uses half the water of old style machines and can only clean half a load. We have to run two loads to accomplish what our machine could do in a single load. There's efficiency for you. Unfortunately this appears to be the common mode of operation for all new washers. They call them high efficiency, but they aren't. If I thought I could find another washer without these issues I would return The Sloth to Best Buy as an overmarketed, poorly engineered excuse of a washer. It probably meets government regulations, but it fails to perform its intended function.

I love this washer because it is so easy to use. Just push start a load and key in spin speed, temp and soil levels push start again and it washes. It spins the cloths really well so it takes less time and energy in the dryer. I would definitely buy again.

Does a good job. This washer is much loader than my previous washer. I thought something was wrong during spin cycle. My first thought was it was out of balance but you can't open it during this period.

This washer is exactly what I wanted, a heavy duty washer with an agitator and no computer controls. I do a lot of heavily soiled items for a senior and this washer does the job! It is truly a quality machine. The time it takes to complete a wash is very long though. I am also happy with how it handles hand washable lingerie, the items do not get all tangled.
