Using High Efficiency (HE) detergent in these washers is highly recommended as they are designed to be quick-dispersing and operate in low water conditions by producing less suds, requiring less detergent. Not using the recommended detergent can lead to additional rinse cycles and increased water usage.)
    • Steam Function: false (In washers, this feature may be employed before, during, or after the main wash cycle. Steam aids in stain removal, activating detergent, sanitizing, and softening wrinkles. In dryers, this feature can be used to remove wrinkles or quickly freshen clothing items.)
    • Washing Mechanism: Agitator (There are two washing mechanisms to choose from in today's washing machines: agitators or impellers. An agitator is a column located in the center of the washing tub. It may be finned or vaned, and works to clean clothes by rotating and rubbing against clothes to break down stains. An impeller is a low-profile cone at the bottom of the tub that uses fins, cones, or discs to create motion. This motion pushes clothes to rub against each other, versus against an agitator, to break down dirt.)
    • Agitator Type: Dual-action (A single-action agitator typically rotates one way to circulate clothes throughout the washer. A dual-action agitator has two parts that rotate differently; the top rotates to push clothes down toward the bottom of the tub while the bottom continues to move clothes in a circular motion. Triple-action agitators work similarly, but add a third up-and-down motion to the dual rotation.)
    • Washer Load Type: Top load
    • Matching Dryer Model Number: MEDC465HW, MGDC465HW
    • App Compatible: false (The product can be connected to a program or software application on a mobile device, which then receives collected data from the product.)

Q: Tring to find out why my washing machine os taking 4 hrs to do a load of laundry when it only took an Ave of 45 min.

A: The trick to shorten the cycle : (for a total time 35-40 mins) i use light to regular soil setting - use normal cycle and do NOT USE the TURBO WASH unless needed for very heavy soiled cloths like soccer uniforms. Do NOT use auto sensing for water. Use Deep water instead. The weighing and sensing takes alot of time. Plus I like extra water to clean unless you live in a drought dry area ( I experienced Harvey/ Ike / Rita and thunderstorms that dench Houston) plus - use 1 rinse with OR WITHOUT softener ( this is just a timing to add setting) If you read the manual - downloadable on internet using your model number- high water rinses the scum out of the drum better which means less damp water pockets that cause ofors in other models - especially front loaders. Recap: light soil or medium- Normal - Deep Water setting - 1 rinse and things move along nicely!

Q: Does the lid lock on this one or are you able to open at any time to add something

A: Lid on this unit stays unlocked until the rinse and spin cycles start... We were used to the old style Top loader and a lot has changed on the new models. The HE washers are definitely different from traditional, and I'm not sure if I'm really saving money on the water bill as we end up using the high water setting a lot. If I were choosing again today, would probably choose a traditional washer and go with a Speed Queen.

Q: How long is the wash cycle from start to finish (ie. Normal setting)?

A: The washer takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to complete a cycle using the Normal Wash Cycle. Some other factors to consider is how long the machine takes to fill to do the laundry in the Normal Wash cycle and how much water pressure you have coming to the machine. This will affect how long it will take the washer to complete the cycle using Normal Wash.

Q: Is it quiet? Does it have an insulated drum? or other feature to cut down on noise?

A: No, it is extremely noisy. If I close the laundry room door, I can still hear it in the family room which is about 40 ft. away.

Q: Part of my bedding sheet is jam under the agitator, How can I solve this?

A: Just had this issue. I am sure you figured this out by now but for others...... Pop cap off top of agitator. There is a bolt at the bottom you have to remove. (ratchet set with long extension). Wiggle the agitator a bit to work it loose. Just had 3/4 of a bed sheet that got stuck in there.

Q: How long is a complete wash cycle?

A: The wash takes way to long. Deep water wash spins water out of my machine. I wish I Never bought new “He” machine. My dryer finishes before my wash does. Not good.
