Large capacity. I can easily wash my king size comforters. Gentle but cleans very effectively. There is not a way to start the water before you add your soap. You must add soap on top or before your clothes and the water will not start until after you close the lid.

Quiet, very efficient, more settings, and it does what it is supposed to - clean your laundry!

Agitator machines clean so much better than machines without.

This is a great modern update to a basic washing machine. The only reason it didn't get a 5 is because I like to control my water level and this system has a auto water level sensor. Just call me old school.

From the ground up (and I mean it, the legs are plastic) this unit and likely most other high efficiency washers on the market today are a joke. I don't know if it's the engineers fault or the management that advised the engineers to cut every corner possible. You cannot control the water fill level. The unit is designed to automatically decide how much clothing or linens are in the basin before the wash cycle. We placed an average size load of hand towels in the basin and the water level was two inches below the towels. You are not given the option to select the load size when the unit can't weight the clothes correctly. The component that measures the load is uncalibrated and is not adjustable. We had no choice but to return this unit. My two star rating is just for the fact that this is an American assembled product. I bought it for this reason, but now understand that Maytag should just stick to manufacturing refrigerators unless they bring back their original quality washers from the 1990s and early 2000s. After returning it we purchased a Speed Queen unit with the direct drive transmission (they call it their Classic TC model). THE SPEED QUEEN IS AMAZING IN EVERY ASPECT AND USA MADE! I did spend more money for it but have absolutely zero regrets. Like the saying goes, "buy once, cry once".

Very happy with the purchase. Auto sensing mode saves water and works well. At first look, it may appear to injection insufficient water, but that’s just to wet the clothes. Then the subsequent water injections in the wash cycle will cover everything. Well designed. We only use hand wash mode with 1 rinse to save energy and materials since we change clothes and towels often and they don’t need to go through all the cycles.

Never owned Maytag before so I don't know how well they will hold up. Supposed to be top quality. At this point I have no complaints. Best Buy delivered new appliances and hauled away the old ones. They did a good job.
