Does what a washer should do. The lid lock is annoying.

From the ground up (and I mean it, the legs are plastic) this unit and likely most other high efficiency washers on the market today are a joke. I don't know if it's the engineers fault or the management that advised the engineers to cut every corner possible. You cannot control the water fill level. The unit is designed to automatically decide how much clothing or linens are in the basin before the wash cycle. We placed an average size load of hand towels in the basin and the water level was two inches below the towels. You are not given the option to select the load size when the unit can't weight the clothes correctly. The component that measures the load is uncalibrated and is not adjustable. We had no choice but to return this unit. My two star rating is just for the fact that this is an American assembled product. I bought it for this reason, but now understand that Maytag should just stick to manufacturing refrigerators unless they bring back their original quality washers from the 1990s and early 2000s. After returning it we purchased a Speed Queen unit with the direct drive transmission (they call it their Classic TC model). THE SPEED QUEEN IS AMAZING IN EVERY ASPECT AND USA MADE! I did spend more money for it but have absolutely zero regrets. Like the saying goes, "buy once, cry once".

Machine is user friendly, simple to use, features are convenient and useful saving time, thought and unnecessary waste. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to someone who values simplicity and efficiency.

Glad I got this washer, has agitator. Very roomie. Able to do large loads. Great buy!

I love this machine, only down side is that you have to put the detergent in first, then you clothes right on top of it with no water

This is a good washer with simple features. The first machine delivered was not working properly but the replacement which was promptly delivered is just fine.

Courteous delivery gentlemen who were very careful with instillation. Excellent washer so far and appreciate the feature allowing for additional water. Lid can be opened except when in the spin cycle which is much better than our last washer. Hoping the Maytag name holds up for many years unlike our last washer lasting but six years... time will tell

We got this because it was more affordable and has a ten year warranty. Totally recommend if you need a washer without all the bells and whistles. There’s more room than you think!!

Both washer & dryer pair were a good value & work well. Still getting used to & not sure if i am a fan of, water level sensing feature on washer (seems like too little water for optimum wash/clean & rinse.
