So after two years of it taking too long to wash clothes it finally gave out for good. I feel like a major sucker. Leave it at the store.

A year and a half old and the seal on the front busted up. Parts are over $250 and manufacturer won’t stand by their product. We bought American on principle, but won’t buy this brand again. Best out of three quotes to fix it totaled $420+!!! I shouldn’t need an extended warranty if you build a worthwhile product.

    good inexpensive washing machine

This replaced a Kenmore top of the line washer that was about 8 years old. While lacking some of the wash cycles of that (and other machines), we've found that this machine washes better than our old Kenmore. This is a backup machine in our basement so we haven't noticed any of the noise issues, but we do not find this to be loud even if we are in the basement when it's running. The quick wash cycle finishes in under 30 mins, and also does a great job, but if you are using cold water and the packets instead of liquid detergent, the packets will not always dissolve completely in the quick cycle ( the clear gel that encapsulates the detergent tends to find its way to the front rubber shroud of the washer). They appear to dissolve completely in warm and hot quick cycles, and they seem to always dissolve in normal length cycles, in any temperature water. Overall a good inexpensive washing machine.

It's my 2nd front loader and I bought the matching dryer and stacked them. It's been almost 6 years since I bought it. It's done so well getting clothes clean. Unfortunately there are issues with the control panel. Rapid wash doesn't complete it's cycle- it just shuts off. Extra rinse button sometimes turns on by itself and can't be turned off. I have to unplug and plug the washer to turn it off. I had hoped to get more than 6 years trouble free,

Loud, already making weird noises, bad service

I bought this washer in summer 2018. On the plus side, it's quick and seems to get my clothes clean. On the bad side, it's EXTREMELY loud--particularly the drain and spin cycle, and the water shuts off with a loud bang every time it fills (which never happened with my previous washer). But now, the washing machine is making some funky noises during the spin cycle....a high screech during the fast spin like a car belt whining on a cold morning, and when I move the drum around manually to check for clothes after the cycle it sounds grindy and loose. The washer has a tough time balancing itself for spin, having to try and retry for sometimes up to 10 minutes, making horrible thumpy noises, before it finally starts spinning. Worse yet....I made an appointment with Maytag for a service technician to come out and huh, my 4-hour window is up and a tech has neither arrived nor called. Currently on hold with them again (going on 10 minutes now). Their voice menu thing SUCKS, can't ever tell what I'm saying, no matter how clearly and loudly I say it. Horrible machine, horrible service. Shoulda gone with the Samsung.

Bought this for our second floor laundry room as our old Whirlpool washer shook the whole house. Went with this model because Consumer Reports rated it as one of the quietest with the least vibration, and they were right. Love it, and love that I don't hear it or feel it downstairs while it is working upstairs. I would highly recommend this washer!!

Two service calls in the first 5 months

About three months after install, the washer quit pumping out water, requiring the pump to be replaced. Then a few weeks ago, the door locked and would not open. With a wet load inside. By the time they sent the warranty repair people (more than a week later), the load had mildewed. The mildew smell wafted through my whole house, and two weeks after the repair the washer still smells like mildew. I want my money back, but Maytag isn't budging. In fact, they've been incredibly nasty, as if their poor quality product is my fault.. I'll never buy another Maytag.

    Broken after 2 months

Purchased from Best Buy February of this year. Today, April 2nd, washing machine will not complete a cycle and shows an error code that the Maytag customer-no-service person does not recognize. Therefore, they recommended a service technician look at the machine. Now it's bad enough that a machine this new is already malfunctioning, but the real shame is that no technicians are available for at least 7 days. I would expect factory-authorized service to be quicker than this. Bottom line - Highly recommend that if you don't like having problems and issues with your brand new appliances, and want to deal with a manufacturer that has any concern for you as a paying customer, you buy another brand.

    Broken out of box

In one word, this machine sucks. I also bought the matching dryer, which was damaged out of the box and had to be returned. The washer was installed and started. Just as the installation team left, the machine threw an error code. I restarted the machine and threw in a load of clothes. Ten minutes into the cycle, a new set of error codes and LOUD buzzing. Shut off and unplugged the machine, same story, plus clothes were locked inside. Bestbuy said they can't even initiate a replacement until the following day. Why? After A LOT of fiddling, we got the clothes out, so I tried just a towel. The full cycle ran, but the towel was soaking wet and full of soap. What a lemon! I finally wrangled up a human on Bestbuy customer service (no mean feat, I can tell you) and they are sending out a replacement washer to go with the replacement dryer. But it's going to take five days! In the meantime, I am spending time I don't have at the flipping laundromat. Maytag sucks. Bestbuy sucks.

The 10year warranty doesn't include the control panel. Ours died after ~4 years, have been waiting on a new part for 4 months...roughly 80% of the price of a new machine. Moving on.
