This is it! More complex than expected but the results are great. Using TV speaker is better. Couldn’t make work with my sound bar or subwoofer. Wide view and auto pan based on the person speaking.

We can have meals together, watch movies, it just makes us feel that little closer to them.

My 3 kids all have them hooked up now and I can see my grandkids run around and with the camera that follows it keeps them in the picture most of the time. It’s nice to have the whole family in a conversation at the same time. Being in 4 different states on Christmas and yet we will be in the same room.

It really allows me to multitask and do what I need to do while I'm talking to her. Resolution is fair but that also depends on her and most importantly it works with WhatsApp. I'd recommend but make sure the other person on the other side has one as well for an even better experience.

Portal TV might be OK, but Facebook is very bad.

However, Facebook wouldn't let me create an account for Mom because she doesn't have a mobile phone. I even sent them her picture as they requested. No response and then the account went from locked to disabled. So I'm returning both Portal TV units because they can't be used. My caution to any reader is to be sure your family members already have working Facebook accounts before you get a Portal TV. Most of the professional reviewers say "don't buy it" because of the way Facebook is run. I should have listened to them.
