This video conferencing product ONLY works if you an active Facebook or WhatsApp account, which I have neither, or plan to in the future.

As above, the image on the TV was blurry and the camera would move from time to time. Although this was annoying for me, I am happy to see my new grandchild who lives across the country from me.

Great concept but poor implementation. The sound quality also is not very good. Choppy and obvious lag. There is also a 7 party limitation using Facebook Messenger. Had a recent planned get together and everyone had to switch to Zoom since the sound quality was so bad. Would not purchase this again unless these issues are corrected. You are also limited to using Messenger or WhatsApp so when we switched over to Zoom, had to use the iMac. The question then becomes why even have the Facebook TV product?

This item didn’t work for me and my office layout so it was returned.

Good for making Whatsapp calls. Had issues with randomly turning on the TV when not in use, hence had to return

Its good for the price. It has Alexa so it could double as an echo. I hope it supporta more apps.

I bought this device during the pandemic to talk with other family members. It works well, just wish it had more streaming apps support

Call connectivity needs to improve drastically before this is useful. It takes 30 -90 minutes to connect to anyone through Portal and FB messenger. Googling says all users need to restart their phones. That doesn't help much. We tried this across 48 people-portal users and had terrible/no connection. It rings answers, immediately drops you, the asks you to rate the connect quality of your call. We also tried 2 different devices thinking the first device was defective. The camera technology is awesome. It follows the movement of people so if you have a toddler running around it is great if you are able to connect for a few minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND due to the terrible connection. I wish this hooked up directly to your phone/facetime.

This product does not work currently with a sony tv using bravia, it shuts off the feature of controlling other devices found this out 2 days after i could return it, contacted facebook and they are giving me the run around Bravia Sync technology allows connectivity between other HDMI products, such as home entertainment systems, without having to utilise multiple remote controls

Not worth for original prices , can’t even compare with other devices . But worth try for discounted price

Portal tv confusing to use. Picture could be clearer and lense does not zoom in enough. Connection dropped off several times on different days

Good option for family chats. Not so good if you are talking one on one on a phone.

I bought the Facebook Portal to video call my family using my TV. It works well. The camera does a nice job tracking you but the picture quality could be better.

It is only good for video calls connecting to TV. Other than that, there are jot many functions to use on. For video calls, a picture quality is not so great sadly.

The concept is good, but it needs work! Cant tell if we are “Alexa-ing or portaling! So disconnected her because Alexa kept interrupting.

If all you want to do is use it to video chat then this is for you. It adds absolutely nothing to tv viewing experience and lacks useful video streaming apps. Hulu, Disney+, Apple TV all nonexistent on this device. It’s nothing more then a relic from the past.

Portal TV is good at what it does, but simple things like not being able to move the PIP box seem like an oversight. Overall I am happy with it.

Pretty nice, but definitely needs more apps. I can’t recommend it 100% until they add more functions to it.

The mic is not good, people have difficulty hearing during a call
