Good so far. Just wish others could use any device to talk

Still has some issues handling the mic performance, not so clear transmission on the other side of the call. The product idea is really good but there is a room for improvement.

Cool concept but doesn’t support other video conferencing software. I had hoped that zoom was supported like the stand alone portal. I would definitely purchase it if they opened the device up to more programs. Disappointing.

Great concept but poor implementation. It's designed to work with a TV but it can't cancel echos for those you call if your TV uses a soundbar.

I really don't like this product was not very user-friendly and we have barely turned it on it was hard to connect to everything and we could not talk to our echo shows

The remote stopped working a week after. Not sure what happen. Disappointing

I had to return this product. Unless your tv is rather close to you, the video imaging quality is quit poor. It isn't worth the money.

Had to return due to an update not taking correctly. Was excited to try but disappointed in the end result.

returned this device, it was a gift and the recipient said that it had bad reviews and preferred the desk top portal

not having integration with many chatting and video tools. wanted to use it with teams and webex

January 2019 purchased a wonderful Samsung smart flat screen TV from Best Buy and now I try and install tis device. HOURS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE AND IT DOES NOT WORK! THEY ARE SUGGESTING THAT I FIND A FRIEND WITH A TV TO TRY IT ON TO SEE IF IT IS DEFECTIVE. I AM 72 AND ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE TINY OLD TVS AND NO TECHNICAL ABILITY HOW DO I RETURN IT AND THE CABLE UNHAPPY IN BLOOMFIELD MI

Out of the box. The Facebook Portal TV is much smaller and lighter than I thought it would be but still feels well made. I decided to mount this on top of my flatscreen TV and it looks good and even if my TV was wall mounted I wouldn't have any worries. The Facebook Portal TV is powered by an external power supply (wall wart design) and oddly Facebook haven't gone for USB to power the Portal TV. There is NO HDMI cable included which seems a miss. There's also a remote in the box (batteries included) you use for on screen menu navigation, etc. Setup was easy, plug it in and after it boots you get a code on your screen. You login to your Facebook account, enter the code and it all automagically connects and sets itself up. Less than 3-5mins and you're done. CALLS - PORTAL TV to PORTAL TV So the BIG reason to get the Portal TV is to do calls. I am fortunate that I was able to test with a friend that also has a Portal TV. Call quality - both audio and voice is great. The plus of the Portal TV is that the camera has smarts so it can automatically zoom / track the face of the person that's talking. It does this without moving, it's all done via software. This worked without any problem for me and the person who was talking to me. You can also do AR effects, they work but honestly not something I care about although my kids loved it. I tested all of this US to US only. CALLS - PORTAL TV to MOBILE PHONE (What'sApp) This was a more important test for me. I have family in the UK and we do a regular WhatsApp call. Again, no issues with audio or video. There's definitely a less than ideal experience compared to Portal to Portal but that's because of the limitations of talking to someone on the phone because they can't hold heir camera far enough away they look huge. Other Stuff Privacy: The Portal TV has an integrated sliding lens cover. This is a BIG step forward from the original Portal devices. I Verdict: The Portal TV is definitely something where you're better off having 2. Sitting on your couch talking to family is pretty cool and I plan to buy another 1 for my sister in London. WhatsApp is nice but honestly more of a novelty compared to using the Messenger functionality.. IMPORTANT: There's no HDMI cable in the box, don't leave Best Buy without buying a HDMI cable. You also MUST have a Facebook account. I know that's not really breaking news, but don't think because it says "WhatsApp" on the box you can use this if you only have WhatsApp.

I don’t like it . It make more time to enter password everytime to use it

It doesn't connect to Zoom. Maybe that’s coming, but until then, it’s a low rating for me

Very disappointed. The video quality was considerably lower than standard definition and also when I would receive incoming calls from someone it would not ring on this device it would only rain on Facebook messenger on my apps on my phone

Complicates smart TV’s and image is no where near advertised . Save your money
