Bought this as a gift, it is really nice to be able to do Facebook Messenger on the big screen. Camera quality is good, audio is good. We ended up getting one for our family as well since we liked how the gifted one worked. It supports Zoom as well but you need to install an app on it (free). We used it with WhatsApp too but if you do group chats with it you must setup the group on the device, not on your phone.

Bought this for parents in another state. The portal was easy to set up and use. The picture is great. Very happy with the purchase.

Video conference function works great, other apps confusing when used together with my smart TV. Overlap of same apps and features like pictures is confusing as my own TV already have them. Would have expected that Portal TV would be more smart and optimize/integrate with my existing TV. Works best on old or non smart TV.

I bought this to try and keep better in touch with my elderly parents back in Canada (we live in the USA now). It was a fairly easy setup and quality overall is pretty good. Its tracking is pretty good but not perfect and sometimes loses the person talking but overall it was worth it. Now I just need to try a 3 way call with them and our daughter who is at university.

Fun gadget to connect with family & friends especially during COVID. My spouse felt it might invade privacy since camera is in living room. I just added Smart power switch (like Amazon smart plug) to control it's power - so turn on only if it's needed - other times it's always off. My 7year old daughter enjoys this gadget more than anyone else. Using voice control, she calls her grandparents directly without adults help. Nice job Facebook!

Facebook Portal TV was great during Christmas. Our son could not come home at the last minute due to Cover, but he was able to still spend time with his family even though hew wasnt physically there. Set up and use was easy on my flat screen and he was clearly able to talk with everyone without have to pass the phone around. The portal followed the voice of the person talking.

I bought two of these for Christmas 2019, 1 for me and 1 for my parents whom live 15 hours away. We use the Portals nearly every day to video chat. We also video chat from Portal with people using FB messenger on their phones and other Portal devices. The TV Portal works well with my smart TV, automatically switching inputs when I answer calls or ask it to call. The remote can also control volume on the TV which is nice.
