The virtual reality (VR) experience is absolutely mind-blowing, there's no denying that. The immersive nature of VR transports you to another world, and it's truly an incredible feeling. However, there are a couple of downsides to consider when it comes to the product itself.
Firstly, the weight of the VR device can be quite bothersome. After using it for a while, you might start to feel some discomfort and even develop a headache. It's unfortunate that the product's design doesn't prioritize a lighter and more comfortable experience. This can definitely be a downside, as it takes away from the overall enjoyment of the VR experience.
Secondly, the battery life of the device is quite disappointing. It drains rather quickly, and this can be a major setback if you're hoping to use it for an extended period of time. It's frustrating when you have to constantly interrupt your VR sessions to recharge the device, especially when you're in the middle of an exciting virtual adventure. It would be much more convenient if the battery lasted longer, allowing for uninterrupted usage for at least a couple of hours.
Despite these drawbacks, the sheer thrill and excitement that VR offers are undeniable. The immersive visuals, the ability to interact with virtual environments, and the overall sense of presence make it an unparalleled experience. It's just a shame that the weight and battery life of the product can hinder the overall enjoyment. Hopefully, future advancements in VR technology will address these issues and provide an even more seamless and comfortable experience

This is something I’ve always wanted to try and I’m glad I did ! Simply put , this thing is Amazing ! A easy to use all in one VR set . Oculus (or Meta) has done a wonderful job making a quality product and a pretty impressive experience. It seems to have something for everyone. The controls are pretty intuitive and seem to track well for all the games I’ve played thus far. Battery life is ok as is the comfort of the included head strap . It is definitely worth upgrading to the better strap with built in battery, this is a must . I personally experienced some degree of dizziness but it quickly passed. Something to note ; the Oculus store has a policy on most of the games it sells , if you experience motion sickness and have played the game for less than 2 hours, you can get a refund! One more thing, as of this time, you must have a Facebook account to use this . It’s not a big deal as you can change All of your privacy settings so whatever you do on Oculus is not all over Facebook. I have no regrets about this purchase, it’s been pretty amazing so far and look forward to what’s ahead for VR . The whole family loves it !

Fabulous Quest - 2 and VR Wave prescription glass

About 7 months back I purchased Oculus Quest 2. The headset's build quality, resolution and technical specs are perfect. However, I did not enjoy the VR experience initially since I wear eyeglasses and it's really annoying to wear glasses while using a VR headset or wearing contact lenses! But during the Christmas holidays, I came across a cool thing! It is a prescription glasses for Oculus Quest - 2 by VR Wave. Out of curiosity I explored it further and finally ordered a pair. It comes with a EVA case, adapter and of course prescription glasses! Its adapter perfectly fits upon Oculus Quest 2 lenses (installation of VR Wave prescription glasses was super easy!). Also, the adapter comes with the tiny magnets to hold the prescription glasses. After that I simply placed prescription glasses upon it. That's it! The prescription lenses made my VR experience super smooth. Now, I don't need to worry about obstruction of eyeglasses and I can truly enjoy the VR experience. The VR Wave prescription glasses come with Anti Blue light coating. It really helps avoid eye strain and fatigue after long usage of Oculus Quest.

Amazing quality and graphics. My son would play it 24/7 if it didn't need charged! It was simple to set up and he has been able to figure out how to find and play games, plus almost everything there is about it, in the short time since Christmas. This was probably the best gift, I've ever gotten for anyone! It is pricey but for the amount of time he plays it, it's absolutely worth it! Plus best buy added the headphones in for free.

I recently purchased the Metaquest 2 from Best Buy and am absolutely blown away by its experience. As a VR enthusiast, I've used several VR headsets before, but the Metaquest 2 stands out for its impressive performance and versatility.
Pros:
Visual Clarity: The display is stunning with vibrant colors and sharp details, making every virtual world feel immersive.
Easy Setup: Setting up the Metaquest 2 was a breeze. It took me just a few minutes to get started and diving into
VR experiences.
Wide Range of Games and Apps: The Oculus store has a fantastic selection of games and applications, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Cons:
Battery Life: While decent, the battery life could be longer for extended VR sessions. Heavy users should invest in an extra battery pack.
Comfort for Extended Use: It's comfortable for shorter sessions, but for longer playtimes, additional padding or adjustments might be needed.
Overall, the Metaquest 2 has exceeded my expectations. It's the perfect blend of performance, ease of use, and affordability in today's VR market. Whether you're a seasoned VR user or a newcomer, I recommend the Metaquest 2 for its exceptional value and immersive experiences.

First off, if you're considering waiting for a newer headset for the first time, just send it on this if it's going to be your first VR experience. The Quest 3 is still probably a year away, and getting the Quest 2 now is much more fun. Facebokk has millions of users on the Quest 2 so you know it'll be around and keep receiving updates for a long time. ONLY bad news that everyone knows is it does require a Facebook account (meaning the user account needs a signup age of 13+), but I don't mind that personally for this experience! I suggest playing for 15-30 minutes maximum for your first experience, so use the First Steps app to get used to it. (Even though I used it for the first 2 hours as my first time amd haven't got sick. Maybe using the Gear VR first helped with that). Comfort isn't bad if you use the new silicone cover and use the TOP STRAP to support your head mainly, but I highly recommend a new strap (the official Elite Strap is known for snapping so use a 3rd party) and facial interface (best from VRCover). If you want PCVR a cable can do while starting but wireless is where it's at.
Wireless is a feature best for use under the conditions following:
At least a Wi-Fi6 router solely connected to your Quest wirelessly and PC with ethernet. (Around $80 for the router)
Potentially a power bank at the back if your strap for added playtime as the Quest 2 only has a 2 hour battery life (the power bank will add support to thr headset making it feel less front heavy, and will have less issues with battery degradation).
A new strap is recommended for longer play sessions, and a VRCover facial interface too.
The Oculus Rift app is required on your desktop for PCVR.
SteamVR is your best bet for PCVR games. Although you have to use the Oculus Rift app in combination with SteamVR.
Lastly, take your time getting into VR (I know it is really, really fun!). You'll probably enjoy yourself more if you take your time and explore all the opportunities. Play how you want and enjoy!
Happy Questing!

I havent felt this way since I've played on an N64, back in 1996, navigating through a 3D environment. The Quest 2 is what I've been looking for. I've been playing video games since I was 4. Started on Atari 2600. I own a variety of handheld games and consoles. The Quest immerses your mind into a fantasy world of your choice. By far the best VR game I have played is Resident Evil 4. You can also watch movies on it with Amazon Prime, youtube VR, Netflix apps. You can adjust how big you want the screen to be. You can remote connect to your PC/laptop, access a web browser and there are facebook and instagram apps you can install just to name a few. I carry this thing on me like a cell phone. When I'm stuck in traffic I'll pull over and watch a movie, catch up on life, play some games all while chilling in the back of my scion XB (windows are tinted pretty good. DO NOT PLAY OUTSIDE IN THE SUNLIGHT as it can damage your device. I often spend time in random metaverses such as Facebook's Horizon, Alt Chat, VR chat and hang out with random people.

I bought this for my wife, she had used one before and loved it. Now she loves hers. I honestly didn't think she would really use it; but I have been impressed with the graphics and the quality of the games. It works with Prime Video (a plus) and Netflix. We did have a little trouble with the harness itself as we both wear glasses. My only complaint is it should come standard with the Elite strap. We bought an aftermarket one and now the fit is much better. For the graphics, quality of the Oculus and over all value, I'd give it 4 1/2 Stars but that option is not available.

I've only had them about 10 days, but so far, these are incredible! Fairly comfortable on my head (I don't wear glasses), they don't fly off when I move fast, the 3D surround sound is great (maybe not perfect). The battery lasts MAYBE 2 hours, and takes 1-2 hours to recharge. I was most concerned with motion sickness, and so far, only one game has done that, and I stopped quickly (fair warning). I'm aware that by playing this a lot, we're isolated from others, and playing with others online isn't being with people. I've hardly seen any buffering, and no crashes so far. Otherwise, the field of vision is very sharp, hardly any pixelation, and I'm having a blast with this! Like any retail world, they want you to spend money, and very few things worthwhile are free, but you can pick a favorite, and wear it out. Mine is Beat Saber, and it's very fluid, challenging, and pretty good background music. Also keep in mind, I'm 73, very techie, and these things are different for everybody.

I purchased the Meta Quest 2 Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset (128GB) from Best Buy, and it’s been an absolute hit in our household! I ordered online and picked it up in-store the same day—super convenient and hassle-free. My 9-year-old absolutely loves it and has been immersed in the VR world ever since. The graphics are stunning, the headset is comfortable to wear, and the all-in-one design makes it so easy to use. Whether it’s games, educational experiences, or just exploring new worlds, this device delivers an incredible experience every time. Highly recommend for anyone looking to take gaming to the next level. Best Buy made the whole process seamless—thank you!

Upgraded from a rift s to this and just wow. Hand tracking, no motion sickness woth the new lenses, color pass through, higher graphics, this thing os awesome. Only drawback is the strain the stock straps put on your head when using for an wxtended period of time, but a backwards ball cap fixes that issue.

This is my first VR headset. I bought this one mostly because it's cheap, doesn't require base stations, and is able to be connected to a gaming computer to use SteamVR and such, rather than using it for the self-contained ability to play games.
I didn't want to invest in a more expensive headset designed for gaming rig use, because I didn't want to drop more money on something that I may potentially not use due to the fact that I can get motion sickness pretty easily. I didn't want to deal with setting up base stations either, because it's not very convenient. I would've gotten the Rift S, but by the time I was in the market for a VR headset, they'd essentially discontinued it, unfortunately. As a result, this was my best option.
It's pretty easy to figure out how to use. Strap it to your face, and do what the prompts tell you to get things set up, and then from there, if you want, you can hook it up to your rig. You simply plug a USB type C cable into the side of the headset, and the other end into the fastest USB port on your computer (it must be USB 3.1, if I'm not mistaken).
So here's what's great about it: It's an excellent way of introducing yourself to the platform of VR without making a HUGE financial leap of faith, relative to other VR headsets anyways. You don't need a computer to use this, you simply need the headset and a phone in order to get things paired properly. There seems to be a decent selection of games that are compatible with it on the Quest app, most of the ones people would normally want to play, so there's no shortage of fun here. It's also really easy to let someone else try it out, if they've never had a VR experience. You don't need to drag someone to your place, or drag your gaming computer somewhere else, you can simply take the headset and a charger and you're good to go. I have only played it while connected to a computer, so I can't make any accurate comment on battery life, or performance in standalone mode, or anything like that, but I can say that this is a good value for people looking to get into the platform and figure out if it's the right thing for them.
It was recently announced that there will no longer be a requirement to have a Facebook account in order to use it, if that's something that bothers you. It certainly bothered me for a while, at least.
Here's the not so good things: The strap. The strap to keep this thing on your face is terrible. It's uncomfortable, it moves around way too much, it's not secure feeling, and adjusting it for other people to use it safely is a huge pain in the rear. You can purchase the elite strap, or some cheap knockoff of one, but the fact is that it comes with a garbage strap out of the box, and you'll need to pay more money to get one that doesn't suck. Given how cheap it is for VR, it's not that big of a deal, but it's definitely annoying, at the very least.
The next thing is more of a complaint with VR as a platform rather than the headset, but the truth is that VR games are almost universally gimmicky. A gimmick isn't necessarily a bad thing, but VR games are more like arcade games than immersive, interesting experiences for the most part. There's certainly a few exceptions to this, but seriously, you're not going to find an immersive world or story in most of the games you'll come across (excluding ports, like Skyrim, for example). Beat Saber, Superhot, Pistolwhip and games like that are obviously fun, but there's really not much to them. It gets old quickly, and soon you don't play your headset for weeks at a time because when you've played the game enough, you're burnt out for a good while.
This is, of course, not relevant to the headset itself, so I'm not counting it against the headset in the review or anything, but I felt it was something that you should be aware of if you're thinking of purchasing one.
Overall, aside from the strap complaint, I think that this is a lovely headset for people who don't have a VR headset yet, and/or don't have a machine capable of running VR games. The strap is honestly really obnoxious to me which is why it cost the headset a star in this review, but that's not to say that this is a bad headset. It's definitely worth a try, at the very least!
For those of you concerned with motion sickness, by the way, here's my input. I get motion sickness pretty easily, and frankly, whether or not I feel sick with this depends solely on what game I'm playing or what I'm doing. I can play Beat Saber without an issue, but playing No Man's Sky made me feel horribly sick. Hanging around in the "hub" when you're not in a game made me very sick too. Playing Pavlov made me very sick. My mom put it on to try it out, and she got sick after about 45 seconds of looking around in the "hub" as well. In short, it depends on what game you're playing, and how prone you are to motion sickness to begin with.

Gamer since the Nintendo and Sega days. Currently on the Xbox Series X. My VR experience has always been at Dave and Busters or Main Event. Few at the mall. Used those goggles with your phone too. I thought VR was trash, dull and polygonal.
Got this thing and wow. NO HYPE this thing has bright and colorful graphics. I've played SKYRIM, SYNTH RIDERS, WALKING DEAD, AND PAVLOV and I get immersed and lose track of my surrounding.
*Helpful tip* Battery life depends on graphics and game. Average about 2 hours. Buy a 6' cord (USB-A to USB-C), and a slim battery power bank that fits in a back pocket. You now turned 2 hours of gameplay to 4 hours or more depending on your battery bank. Can be done as little as $20-30. I use a 4kmah battery. Gives me 2 hours of gameplay.
This thing is so cool. VR is about to take over. Especially at this price range. I love that you can connect to your PC and play PC VR games wirelessly with AIR LINK at no extra cost! I read before you had to buy an app. If you want to entertain, connect to AIR LINK with your PC, hook up your TV HDMI to PC and entertain your friends and family watching you play or explore.
What I dont like is that there's a small SWEET SPOT in the goggles. If you're not in it, then it gets blurry. Wish the sweet spot was bigger I guess. Have to adjust every now and then back in it.
If you're going to cry about having to sign up with Facebook. Make a new profile just for gaming. Duh!
