I have enjoyed the capabilities of the Meta Quest 2 and the variety of games and entertainment available for it. The portability allows me to take it with my to my college dorm room and the store is easy to navigate. Overall I can honestly say that I’m glad I made the decision to purchase this system.

The Meta Quest 2 VR Headset is a great system for beginners. The headset is comfortable and lightweight as well as the hand controls and they are easy to navigate. The demo for new users is easy to follow and fun to learn with. If I could change one thing, it would be the battery life. It is too short.

This thing is great. It is just like having a portable Rift. The screen door effect is gone. The fact that it can run so many titles on it's on is great and to get AAA titles out of it, you can just link it to your PC. I don't have an issue with the IPD. I know on the rift that I had it set to 64-65. On the Quest 2 I have it set to 2, and the is 63 according to the settings. The only thin I can recommend for it is the better head strap, and adjusting the unit up or down on my face to get the sweet spot. It has a huge library already available, and the fact they are adding in life events is the coolest idea ever. especially in the time we are living in. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get into VR, or if you just want to upgrade. And I had zero issue setting it up. But I have used the gen 1 Rift. there is a companion app for it, so you do need a phone. But keep in mind you can show others what you are doing in the Quest 2 with it via video stream. So that is pretty handy.

Easy to set up and use. Can use it in every room of the house and set up play play areas and they will save. Great system, and plenty of titles.

I bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. I end of playing it too and loved it too. I did not imagine that I would enjoy playing it as much, but I did. Now I want my own. This is another way of working out.lol Great purchase.

Parent company aside, the Quest is a solid price per pound VR experience. You are not going to beat it as a stand alone or even paired to a computer on the cost per performance ratio. Cable free beats higher resolution in my book. One star drop for the ridiculous and painful head strap. Just add the cost of an upgrade in your plans because it is bad. I paired it with the elite strap that has the built in battery. That will double your play time between charges. I can play longer than 4 hours, but it is rare. There are other choices in straps, just accept you will likely have to make one. I have the original and there may be those wondering if it is worth the upgrade. I am mixed on that. Some of the better titles do need the Q2, but there is plenty to play on the original. Yes the resolution is better and the batteries in the controllers will last longer. Is it worth the cost to upgrade is really a judgment of what you want to do with it. I don’t like the feel of the new controllers myself, but they are easier on batteries. It is likely more a question of when to upgrade versus if. I’m okay with my choice to upgrade, but I do miss that better feel of the controller design and overall headset comfort of the original.

For the money, it was such a great vr headset, especially with all the updates like airlink, great headset. The controllers worked great as well. The downside for me was the lcd screen, ive experienced oled screens in a headset, and the fact that you can see youre looking at a light screen in the quest kinda ruins the immersion.

Oculus Quest 2 Review (3 months after)

Pros: Has standalone VR, meaning you only need the headset, controllers and a facebook account to play VR games. Can buy a "link cable" to connect to a gaming PC, so you can play SteamVR games, which usually have better graphics than the standalone oculus store games. Feels like you're at a imax movie theater with it on. Would be bery good for watching movies and tv shows. FPS games have free range of movements (can hold a gun, throw a grenade however you want) Cons: Original headset battery life lasts 2 - 3 hours. (Buying a Elite battery strap will fix this or a long usb-c charging cord) Facebook account required. Personally don't like this company. Forced us to make an account to use this headset also. And of course they're gathering your data while you play games. The oculus store probably has less games than steamVR because of a Facebook monopoly.

Got this for my wife as a Christmas present. She loves it, my daughter tried it and loved it too. They use it mainly for playing, however, not too often. The whole idea behind this is pretty great, however, I can't seem to find a good use for it besides just having it.

I've been really enjoying using this vr headset for gaming, watching movies, and workouts. It's very immersive and you use your whole body to interact with the environment instead of just moving your fingers. I like the safety feature where it allows you set boundary (virtual wall) so that it can track your position and warn you when you cross that boundary line. I don't exercise much but this vr has been making me want to work out. There are a few features that I didn't really like about this vr. First, the head strap isn't really comfortable. Second, spongy face cover didn't really work out for me well especially when I sweat. Third, if you wear eye glasses it might not fit you well. But, there are accessories that you can purchase to resolve all these issues. Of course, you need to spend more money... Overall, I'm very very glad that I decided to purchase this.

The purchase of this was so easy and the pickup process was smooth and painless, even during the busy Christmas season! My stepson loves this, and so do we! Fun games and lots of laughing, making it perfect for family time! It does cause a headache if you play too long, but he needs a break from electronics anyway! Thanks Best Buy!

Good Upgrade From the Previous Model

After having the Oculus Go, this was a good upgrade worth the money. It is a little heavy and the head strap on the top is a little difficult to adjust, making it a little difficult to get comfortable. But once you get everything set the way you want, you are good to go. The upgrade in graphics and speed is a good step up. Battery life is about the same as the old one. You can play for a couple of hours before needing a recharge. The guardian system field of play works good. I don't like the haze on the lenses though. I wish they were clear. I think they do it to help remove the ghosting affect. Overall I think they are worth the money, but still need some improvements. Every iteration Oculus comes out with seems to make the game a little better. I also have the Oculus Rift and I play this more since I don't have to deal with the wires and the graphics are almost as good. The one thing they messed up on was the speakers. Why would they want everyone in the room to hear what you are playing?? This causes me to use my plug in ear buds to play. The last model's speakers were much better as they were over your ears and only the player could hear what's going on. Hopefully they fix this on the next model. My kids and grandkids love to play this game. Two of my daughters have the Quest 2 also, and they bring them to the house and we play against each other. It's very easy to connect.

Great quality! Loved being immersed into a different world. Careful how you move though, as you may run into your couch or table if you try to walk around.
