This is my first VR. The first day I put it on, I was amazed on how I am fully immersed not only in playing games but watching online movies. The unit goes to standby mode when watching movies. I read that you have to constantly move your head to avoid this. Oculus engineers are aware of the problem and are in the process of fixing it. It had one update since I bought it, but unfortunately it has not been fixed yet. It does not go on standby during games though. The standard headstrap is not at all comfortable. I never tried the elite head strap but I am reading that that too easily breaks. Each controller uses one AA battery and it lasted me a month before I had to replace it. I am not sure how long the battery of the unit lasts because I never tried it with the headset unplugged. When it is plugged, the battery level stays at 77% the whole time until you turn it off. The sensors work at the dimmest red light. I had no problem dimming my lights and the unit can still keep track of my hand movements. The foam that touches your face is also not the most comfortable foam. It leaves red streaks after an hour of using it. The unit itself if great though. You just have to spend more on aftermarket accessories to make it even greater. The clarity of the screen is acceptable. Watching 3D movies is a great experience!
