Great VR intro
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well they don’t make any of these anymore but I never had more fun with one piece of technology. My first vr headset and with a few extras it becomes perfect but unfortunately there are things I feel need off brand upgrades like head and controller straps

It's good but not for me
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun, but not for me. I bought this for the wellness experience meditation and such. And it's pretty neat. Tripp is a popular wellness that takes you to an alternative universe. I also tried shooter games and poker- all fun. However, I don't see myself using it enough for the cost. Because you can feel the headset on you, I never felt that I was emerged the VR. Also, the headset gets hot, and it's heavy. Battery life, as others suggest, is weak. Another drawback for me is you have to stand or sit. I like to lie down, and the software isn't designed for that.

Meta
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Meta Quest 2 is a virtual reality headset that offers an immersive and interactive experience for gaming, entertainment, and productivity. It features a high-resolution display and powerful processing capabilities that make it one of the best VR headsets on the market. The design of the Meta Quest 2 is sleek and lightweight, making it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The included touch controllers are also well-designed, with responsive buttons and accurate tracking that make it easy to interact with the virtual environment. One of the biggest advantages of the Meta Quest 2 is its wireless capabilities. It doesn't require any cables or external sensors, which makes it easy to set up and use. The headset also features a built-in microphone and speakers, which are great for communicating with other players during multiplayer games. The Meta Quest 2 has a large library of games and apps available, including some of the most popular VR titles such as Beat Saber, Superhot VR, and Job Simulator. The graphics and performance are also excellent, with smooth and responsive gameplay that is truly immersive. Overall, I think the Meta Quest 2 is an excellent virtual reality headset that offers a great experience for gaming, entertainment, and productivity. It's easy to use, comfortable to wear, and offers a wide range of games and apps to choose from. If you're looking for a high-quality VR headset, the Meta Quest 2 is definitely worth considering.

VR Fitness
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! I got this quest 2 when my original device wasn't holding a charge more than a hour. This one is upgraded (as per the best buy store) and does seem to run better than mine (purchased 31May21). I have noticed some games display different graphics on this quest 2. I do game on my Quest 2 but the core function is fitness via Les Mills, Synth Riders, and a few others.

Fun device!!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much fun on my free time! Makes virtual games addicting and feel like I’m in a whole new world! Great quality. Only two cons I have would be that it’s heavy on my face (might be my fault for not making it snugged enough sometimes), and that I get a little nauseous when I walk/run with the joy stick.. although I did find the solution to not getting nauseous is to teleport instead! :)

Have VR will travel!!! Love this thing!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I need to preface this review by saying this is the first real VR I have had other than the one that came with your galaxy phone which is required to run it. The Oculus 2 is light years better in every way. I love the fact that you can cast out to a mobile device or chromecast with a touch of a button. The weight of the device is not too bad and even better with purchase of the elite strap. Battery life for me seem to run about a solid 2 hours or more. It does get a little hot on the face. Not the unit itself as much of the lack of airflow to the face. That's pretty standard with this tech. Graphics are great and the sound is very good for not having to wear headphones. The head strap speakers do an adequate job for my taste. The pass through cameras are very helpful in knowing your surroundings. I opted for the larger memory unit since games are stored on the device. I wish they had a larger catalog of software for it on the Oculus app. Once I purchase the link cable and connect it to a PC - it should give a broader selection. Games i've purchased so far is Walking Dead & Start Wars Episode 1. Both are great games. I am having a blast with this thing. Highly recommend. My spy that I didn’t think that I would enjoy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, I’m not a gamer. I purchased this because I wanted to find a way to work out. And this is definitely a good way to work out. It feels like you’re directly inside the ring boxing with somebody else or you’re definitely working out alongside other people in a fitness gym it’s a must buy there’s so many different ways for you to do things in here that I didn’t expect to do. I find myself doing 50 million things that I didn’t expect to enjoy.

Fantastic Device! Except…
|Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before we begin, I would like to say that I was primarily going to use this headset to stream PC VR games instead of using it the way Meta would have probably wanted someone to use it (with a phone or something like that). Pros: the headset and controllers feel extremely comfortable and the setup was exactly like reading a book. As long as you can find an open space I can see a person having tons of fun using this device. I was expecting the headset to be really front-heavy, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I didn’t need the elite strap with the battery to balance the weight. The controllers lasted me at least a month of playing about 2-4 hours daily. Tight on space? The Meta Quest 2 allows you to set up a stationary zone that helps you stay confined in smaller spaces. Cons: I had lots of trouble trying to set up the device with PCVR. Whether it be through quest link, virtual desktop, or air link, I just could not get the dang thing set up without tuning some very specific settings. Scouring the forums didn’t help either. Most of the solutions listed on forums either recommended a factory reset, meta branded peripherals, or an RMA. Streaming was a nightmare to set up as well. I use both Meta quest 2 and a HTC Vive. I had ZERO problems connecting and streaming with my Vive. The Quest 2 on the other hand… did lackluster. On a pc with a 3070, 3600x, and 32gb of DDR4 ram I was noticing performance drops of roughly ~33%. Streaming in VR also crashes OBS for some reason which blows. Overall, if you’re planning on using this device for basic leisure and playing on the go, then go for the Meta Quest 2 1,000%. The UI is very intuitive, it was simple to set up, and I was able to play in 5-10 minutes; HOWEVER, if you want to purchase this device for PC VR AND YOU WANT TO STREAM IT (emphasis on STREAM), I wouldn’t recommend this product. Since my issue is niche, I’m only docking 1 star. Happy gaming everyone! Review 4 avatars out of 5

OCULUS QUEST 2 - WOW, JUST WOW
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a huge gamer, but I must say the Oculus Quest 2 VR rig is the most immersive gaming experience I have ever had. Pistol Whip is the best first-person shooter I have ever played, and I have not played that many. Eleven table tennis feels just like playing real ping pong. The free app to explore the International Space Station can induce vertigo and motion sickness. The Thrill of the Fight is a brilliant boxing game and a real cardio workout. You can connect the Oculus to your gaming PC with a cable (purchased separately), but I have only used it as a standalone system. You download the games directly to the Oculus using wi-fi. The setup could not be simpler. No wires. Just you, the Oculus headset and two hand controllers. All for less than the cost of the Xbox or PS5. I am honestly blown away by this system. It is accessible, intuitive, so there is not a steep learning curve, and fun. Heck you can even watch Netflix in a much nicer VR house that any of us could afford. If you are bored, have a few hundred bucks burning a hole in your wallet, this could be the therapy for you.

Amazing with one drawback.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No other way to say it, this device is amazing, as long as your expectations are reasonable. By reasonable, I mean don't expect PS4 graphics on a 4k screen for resolution. Graphics wise, it displays like an early 2010 home console. Graphics are good enough, it's the world this puts you in, it's the fact you don't have to cable it up to a high end PC, the ease of setting up boundaries so you don't hurt yourself while immersed in the game, the controls that feel so natural, the very reasonable cost, and the game library (If you don't purchase Walking dead, you're really missing out). I have one complaint about this device, and it's an obvious one... The included head strap is so uncomfortable that I can't use it more than 10 minutes. I'm not deducting a star because I feel this was such a great deal for what it offers you. I'd rather have paid $50-$100 more and had a really comfortable head strap. The Elite Strap is available as an accessory, and for me, it's a must have, because I wouldn't even use this without it.

Fun novelty, impressive experience gets old quick
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great novelty, gets a bit old because it gets sweaty inside being all sealed up in your eyes. Definitely recommend buying aftermarket “eye gaskets” with more airflow as well as the head straps with a crank mechanism. It’s worth the investment for a more comfy experience long term but even after all the upgrades and accessories it mostly just sits on my shelf. Fun to break out here and there but one of those things you’re stoked on for the first few days then it slowly just starts collecting dust and you end up with like $600 sitting on a shelf. If you have a friend with one try theirs and if you are itching to burn some cash pick one up you’ll have some fun but just know you’ll probably end up not using it much. It’s kind of an ordeal getting it all fired up and situated then you start sweating and fogging up the lenses and it’s like faaaaahhhhhwk this I’m just gonna use my tv or laptop or phone whatever just get this off my head hah

Very real...be prepared to lose your balance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Oculus Quest 2 is definitely worth the price. We have the 256GB because we have a family of 4 using it. It's so well done that it's easy to "get lost" in the game you're playing and feel like it's real. There are a significant amount of games available for all ages and lots of learning as well. The only Con I could come up with is that it does run out of battery and you have to put it away for a while. I believe it also needs to be tied to a Facebook account to purchase games. The charges come through as Facebook charges. So if you're against Facebook, this might not be the VR for you. Other than that...it is great. Even works with Youtube and Netflix! It's also a great workout when you use games like Beat Saber. One very good Pro is that you build a virtual wall and floor so it will alert you with gridlines as you play so you don't fall or trip over anything.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love the Oculus! I'm not a gamer (or wasn't) I'm 62 and I feel young again. Lol. Bought to "travel" the world, hooked on gun shooting games, roller coaster, and there are so many apps that are free! I would definitely buy again!! Worth every cent!!

Excellent VR Gaming
||Posted . A good buy!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No complaints. Great graphics. Sound is good. Mic is good. Battery life could be better. While charging is quick, I find that it constantly needs to be charged. Some of the games are hard to navigate...but that more user error then it is the equipment!

I Found Christmas!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s been a crazy year. I don’t really need to get into how odd 2020 has been overall, but needless to say like a lot of folks, my wife, kids and myself have spend a lot of excess time stuck at home through current events, burning through all manner of entertainment in an effort to keep days interesting, and ourselves entertained. Board games, video games, movies and music….we’ve pretty much done all we can do within the four walls, and we’ve done it ad nauseum over the past eight months or so. We are very fortunate, I feel like we have a lot and my kids don’t really want for much, so it has been a bit of a challenge finding something to shake it all up. This year (more than others) also has me struggling to think of how we might make this Christmas different and eventful when we have exhausted so many different means of staying active and excited. I think found it. I have never owned a VR headset. I am a bit of a technology wonk (I build my own computers, love gaming and gadgets), but VR is something I’ve watched from a distance, largely due to the entry cost and my reticence to buying into the hype and just actually trying one out/on. The minute I put the Quest 2 on, I realized how much I had been missing out on. If you are looking for your entry point to VR from a cost and fun perspective, this is absolutely it. It is a very well-built unit- overall packaging and form factor are pretty sturdy and ergonomic (from the perspective of a first time user). Headset overall is solid and definitely has some weight to it, but with some minor adjustments it fits well, and relatively comfortably. I think the strap could stand some minor improvement for the sake of comfort, as there is a bit of weight to it, and I intend to order the Elite Strap with battery and carrying case as soon as it’s available. Many reviews of that strap seem to indicate that the added rear support architecture will increase comfort level dramatically, and the battery component of it should double the advertised play time of two plus hours to something more along the line of 4-6 hours total. The hand controllers feel remarkably comfortable, although they do impress me as heavy enough that I feel like a long gaming session will have me noticing them. The overall experience is just….wow. To reiterate, I’m a first-timer in terms of VR, and I went into this with a generous mix of ‘not-really-sure’ and ‘let’s-give-it-a-shot’. To say I was not disappointed is about the understatement of the year. Many of the reviews speak much better than I could to the tech aspects of it and specifications on lenses, hardware and processer speed which I won’t regurgitate, but the sight and sound are just outstanding and fully immersive. The standard lens orientation (you can adjust it in three ways, I didn't have to) gave me a spectacular HD panorama and the sound was rich and required no earpieces, although the headset is equipped to connect some if needed. There were no noticeable light-leaks, and I really felt like I strapping in was the equivalent of stepping into another world, just one I could hear my dog barking in. I literally just wandered through the tutorial for a half hour in wonder, catching myself giggling like I was a kid at silly stuff like throwing paper airplanes or shooting shapes on a range- I was head-butting ping pong balls and dancing with some weird looking avatar like an absolute clown in the middle of the day- it was glorious. While I’ve dipped my toe in the game pool with a few smaller and straight-forward titles like Beat Saber and Tetris Effect, those aren’t games that will beg super long sessions of me (okay, so maybe Tetris can suck you in a bit…), I feel like once I settle in with something like Half-Life: Alyx I will really start to notice the weight on the controllers- a mild criticism at best.

Amazing way to start a VR journey!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't very familiar with VR headsets before purchasing the Quest 2, but the ease of use along with the guided steps made everything feel very easy to learn. The software I would say is good but the biggest con is definitely the battery life of about two hours which is if you can even wear it for two hours in a row with getting sick.

This is the future get one now!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the future, waaay better than any console experience. I've pre ordered the ps5 and series X last month but I haven't even thought about them since I got my oculus quest 2 in the mail. I love Big Screen and watching movies on it with random people across the country. Also the games I haven't been scared by a game since I was 8 and when I played the walking dead saints and sinners on the quest 2! Omg I jumped back so hard when the zombies started reaching out for me in that warehouse. This is my first VR so I was blown away. Its pretty easy to setup and mark your play area. My only quirk is the default strap can get uncomfortable after like 30 minutes also the battery will drain fast so be ready to charge.
