This thing is amazing. I was hesitant at first because I get motioned sickness easily but not with the Oculus Quest 2. This is a premium VR headset and so much fun.

Pretty much bought this just for Beat Saber but some of the other games are cool too. Meta continues to enhance it.

I waited a while to review this because I wanted to really have a feel for it...My main reason for buying this was the fact it is a stand alone and I don't have to worry about kids pulling on cords. It has some good games and the graphic are much better than the psvr. The fact you can wear glasses and it doesn't scratch up the lenses is a huge plus too. My biggest issues with Occulus are the weight straining your neck after a while and the battery life on it sucks. After 30 minutes it will be down 30% life. And despite setting it so you have to push the button to turn it on it still seems to activate with motion. So just the slightest motion powers it up and that kills battery life as well.

I have a PSVR but decided to try out the Quest 2 due to the good reviews, the fact that it might be some time before Sony comes out with a updated PSVR2 and the fact that is not hard wired to anything. I am very happy with the Q2, the graphics are much better than the PSVR though the PSVR has decent to good graphics depending on the game you are playing. I also picked up the extra battery that is in the much better head strap. The extra battery along with the battery in the headset makes a big difference for extended game play. With both batteries, I have yet to run out of juice during the times that I usually play. Also, I don't have to play in one particular place due to being hard wired to a PC or a game console. I now play in the living room which is a more open area. Pros: 1. Very nice, sharp graphics 2. No cables attached 3. See thru mode (so you can see what's going on in the room without taking off the headset. 4. light weight unit 5. Great tracking 6. Load times are short 7. Able to set up safe room boundaries to play within 8. Store available (through Wi-Fi) to buy and download games directly to the headset 9. Downloads are fast Cons: Top volume on the headset is to low, the first 3 or 4 bars don't even get you any sound. It's just enough sound but I would like more. I'll have to look at options for a set of phones that has a volume control to get more loudness and some bass. I'll miss the sound I could get with the PSVR coming from a multi speaker audio system which would be all around me. Not enough good games (yet). I'm sure more are on the way but the PSVR has a ton in comparison. Requires a FB account. For a person like me who doesn't care for social media, I had to weigh the good and the bad and decided to sign up. I don't plan on using the account for anything else.

its very much capable of doing so much more then it is currently able to do due to the link cable being the most recent of all of the oculus quest 2 added cost items not included with the original purchase of the headset unlike the quest 1 i bought that had it included in the box already, to be bought up by a select few individuals online and then resold for up to double its original price to the point were most people faced with the choice to pay scalped prices due to oculus not having a steady manufacturer as a source supply or they just simply are clueless to what is actually happening just the same as it did with the quest 1 headsets just at the start of the new year and the pandemic slowing down and stopping the supply of headsets to be sold giving those select few the ability to create a artificial supply shortage and jacking up the prices of the remaining sets to unfair price scalping highs unlikely to be worth the purchase its sad that once again it is happening and the head set was just released what a month or so ago and already u cant find any of the needed cables available along with the manufacturing decisions that allowed for sub par materials to be used to form the pieces of the elite head straps that had a very useful addition of battery boost in the strap also came with a nice storage bag that was likely to be bought all up- and price hiked as well as the cable was but didnt have the chance to before its own faulty design killed it out the gate which then leaves u with just the original stock strap that is much likely to be seen as an insult to injury with its down graded like design from the previous model b4 it which had a very nice and comfortable designed stock strap that was clearly more well thought out and better materials used in its manufacturing of it too but aside from all that the thing that is really the main beef i have with it is that it was supposed to be able to easily be able to access the rift s games on it with out having to use the cable to link it and yes im aware of the virtual desktop app option and all but what im getting to is the very specific app that is the whole reason for me to ever buy one of these headsets in the first place and then the recent "upgrade" next gen oq2 and with lil suprise i had to bite the bullet and go out and purchase a gaming laptop in hopes that finally i might not have any more reasons why i cant access the google eaqrth vr app that has been just slightly out of reach through all my attempts to initially just be able to experience it in vr form like i see all the time in you tubes endless library of demos by other gamers that for some reason has no issue ever gaining the access i so desire but i simply in the end have realized it is just a joke there is no real compatibility with the app and the oq2 or gaming pcs with amd graphics cards reguardless of what the specs say on the oculus website for the pc to be compatible cuz i bought one that fell in the middle of said specs so ideally there should have been no problems with it working right out the gate with the oq2 and link cable option .... wrong it appears to be a on going nightmare that from what i could gather has been identically repeated over and over again by many peeps over the last 2 years str8 with no obvious work around in sight or even better not a single peep out of the facebook oculus themselves in reguards to the many open tickets that have been reported and seemingly ignored by the support team from what i can pick out of the lack of follow ups to the many threads i found talking about the very same thing i was facing just in the recent few days had first been reported in 2018 sometime and that is just plain sad and unlike a company that actually wants to be the true leader in the industry of vr like actually are at the moment but i suspect that not for long if they keep putting out crap like this !! i suggest not wasting your time or money and just simply find another vr competitor of oculus and buy their headset u will be most likely better off in the long haul !

Excellent for the price. It's nice to have a stand alone unit that can also connect to the PC. Only cons are short battery life and the orginal headstrap doesn't do a great job, but there are plenty of after market accessories to fix that.

The Oculus Quest 2 is a pretty fun VR headset at a lower cost compared to the competitors. It's received some backlash due to the mandatory Facebook login. Recently, there have been players who were banned because they created fake Facebook accounts in order to use the Quest 2. Some users have multiple FB accounts which also got them banned. Some users have never had a FB account, created one to use the Quest 2, and then was later banned for unknown reasons. I believe FB will unban them as time passes on, but just be aware this may happen to you. If you are turned off by any of this or by the FB company, I would stay away. You can have a VR name so your personal name won't be out there in the virtual world. You can still remain anonymous, but the data that FB creates from us users is what people are afraid of. I don't care if FB knows how often I'm killin it at Beat Saber or Half Life Alyx. There are multiple platforms such as the Rift platform (if you own a Rift or Rift S) and a Quest platform (if you own a Quest 1 or Quest 2). This means that some games will have cross-buy and some won't. For example, you may own Beat Saber on the Rift platform with your Rift S but after you buy the Quest 2, you'll notice in the Oculus store that Beat Saber will be on sale again and it's not in your library (for your Quest 2). This is up to the developer and they are on different platforms meaning one game on one platform is not meant to work for the other or rather you own the other. Some games ARE cross-buy like Population One or TWD Saints and Sinners. Just take that into consideration as some users are very upset they have to buy the same game twice. You can wirelessly use the headset for about 1.5-3 hours before needing to recharge. 3 hours if you're lightly web browsing or you're connected to the link cable. The cable that they include is too short to use while playing. You have to buy the $80 link cable (you can find cheaper alternatives) if you want to play PCVR games or if you want to have longer gaming sessions. You would think that you can charge the headset while playing with this link cable but the VR uses too much power, so using the cable will help decrease the battery level but it will not charge while playing. It's been fun going into a virtual reality when the currently pandemic reality hasn't been so great. Keeps things fun indoors. You can also chat or play with friends, families, new players from around the world. Social distancing but still interacting! 3-D movies are coming back with VR because it looks great! Add me in the virtual world and maybe we can game together! KingKento :D
