It makes the device sit so much better on your face. You can move it into position and lock it there. There is also no strain on your nose and you can find the perfect position to make the screen as clear as possible. The reason I gave this one star is because it has already start to crack in the back near the dial so I cannot pull it any tighter than where the crack is at. Soon its going to break.

It's not required, but it definitely feels worth it for extended play or if you move around a lot in faster paced games. I can understand why its not included to keep price down. Don't view it as for the "pro" gamer... it's like comparing the included strap as slip on shoes to locking your feet in a snowboard.

Elite Strap has a Glass Jaw

Also taking it on and off, adjusting, all of it. Its 5 stars. I especially notice this after it breaking and me having to go back to the original headband. Its much better than the original. But it broke on one of the sides and ducttape wont cut it. And thats why we are 2 stars. Its quite expensive, and it doeant breK rivht away, but it breaks definitely. You may miss your window for an exchange with the manufacturer.
