Coming to Quest 3 from an old school Oculus Rift. Pros: The Quest 3 visuals are amazing, screen is very sharp in comparison to older blurry headsets. Weight isn't too bad. It does a great job of tracking touch controllers, and a good job of tracking hand controllers. Latency is very good. Cons: AR is grainy and blurry. Battery life is pretty short and I can't seem to get a consistent charge from my USB cables while playing. After about 1.5 hours playing last night I was at 40% and that was with the Meta provided charger and a anker 100w charging cable plugged in. Game selection for VR is still limited, and AR has just a handful of games.

if you have the quest 2 and are looking to upgrade to a better standalone the quest 3 has (most of) your bases covered. the biggest improvements are better resolution, full color passthrough, and the new pancake optics which make the display crystal clear and not blurry, if you have a quest 2 you’ll know what i mean. Most stand alone games are still optimized for the quest 2 however so i would wait to purchase closer to Christmas when they roll out quest 3 optimizations for games as well as more 3rd party accessories. 2 main cons are the battery life which is a bout 2 hours and the default head strap is not great out of the box.

It looks so much better with the pancake lenses and upgraded resolution! Its also very comfy! The audio is also upgraded! There so much more that i won’t talk about because theres just so many more good things! Overall the best vr headset i have ever used

Yet another great device in the Quest line. Got it as soon as it got out and am very happy with it. The graphics are getting closer to PC VR, The display is more smooth and much sharper than the previous Quest 2 and no longer gives me headache. The battery is a little weaker but not a deal breaker. The Controllers are much nicer as well.

I have an Oculus Rift and Quest, decided to upgrade to the Quest 3. Quest 3 graphics are by far superior to the rift, or Quest I have. The headset head strap, it is designed a little different but, for the price they should have put a bit of more effort into its design because it simply does not do the job. I do not have a flat face, high cheek bones so the end result was that no matter how I adjusted it, the headset rested on my cheek bones, very uncomfortable. A suggestion in another review was to purchase a AMVR Head Strap for the Quest 3, which I did, it alleviated most of the head strap issues, but that was another $50. Airflow, there isn't any difference I could see in the headset design as fars the airflow, nothing was done to improve it. I sat for maybe a half an hour adjusting settings and playing around with the interface, nothing strenuous, and the lenses fogged up. I understand that third-party face guards that do have ventilation are available, but again, that's more money. Apps and Games: There isn't a lot available specifically for the Quest 3 and what is available costs $20 to $50. In the store inside the quest, i did not see anything free; I did log into my Oculus account via my computer and there several items that said Get. From what I can tell, Get means free, problem though, the free stuff, I watched the promo videos and they appeared to be very cartoonish, which I guess for the first time VR users might be mildly entertaining, but I am not a first time VR user. Mixed Reality: maybe I am blind but try as I might I could not find any mixed reality demos and I am not going to spend money to buy a mixed reality app or game if I do not have a demo to give me a better understanding as to how MR actually works on the quest. It's possible I missed something, but I am not a patient person when it comes to user interfaces, if I cannot easily find what I am looking for in a short amount of time, I have no use for whatever it is. I have a lot of games and apps for my Rift and Quest, some of which were in the list when I went to my library in the Quest, but I want something different, I don't want to play the same old games over just to see them with better graphics. Battery life, 2 hours or less. Another review said to get a battery pack, so I purchased a Portable Charger Power Bank 30,800mAh. Put the power bank in your pocket, plug the power bank into the charging port of the Quest and you are powered for hours. Bottom line, for $500 I expected more!

Best Quest yet! Updated from an original Quest and the difference in quality is amazing. Screen door effect is basically gone, and it is much more comfortable on my face. Battery life could be better, but that problem is easily solved by carrying an external device or mounting one to the headset.

I had the privilege of testing the Meta Quest 3 VR headset in Albuquerque, New Mexico, engaging in various games and applications. The Quest 3 offers a mixed reality experience, seamlessly integrating virtual and real environments. During a multiplayer robot fighting game, the passthrough function revealed the real environment, though pixel visibility was influenced by poor lighting conditions. The mixed reality tracking, however, demonstrated remarkable stability. Setting up the Quest 3 is straightforward; you create a Meta account via the smartphone app, connect it to the headset, and establish the play area using a laser pointer or the new depth sensor. The design, with three front slots for cameras and a depth sensor, exudes quality in both headset and controller materials. Thanks to the Snapdragon XR2 Gen2 processor, the Quest 3 delivers impressive performance. I experienced smooth gameplay in titles like Assassin's Creed Nexus and Red Matter 2, with short loading times. The comfort of the headset, despite its weight, is enhanced by the pancake design, while the Elite strap provides additional comfort. The Quest 3's image quality surpasses expectations, boasting a resolution of 2064x2208 per eye, clear pancake lenses, and an adjustable IPD range. The FOV is slightly larger than its predecessor, though not comparable to higher-end models. Red Matter 2 showcased a significant difference, resembling PCVR quality. Controllers, lighter without tracking rings, utilize a combination of IR and hand tracking. While generally well-designed, there were slight tracking issues under specific conditions, possibly due to lighting. Sound quality remains to be fully assessed. Charging options include an optional dock or USB-C, with a battery life of approximately 2.5 hours (4.5 hours with the Battery Elite Strap). The Quest 3 supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, offering compatibility with PCVR through cable or Air Link. Backwards compatibility allows access to over 500 games, with Meta promising 50 new games and 50 updates in 2023. The Quest 3 impresses, and its success hinges on developers leveraging its capabilities for high-quality experiences. A comprehensive review, along with first impressions, will be shared soon on my YouTube channel, "VoodooDE VR -english version-." Stay tuned for updates after receiving the headset in week 40, 2023.

The Oculus Quest 3 impresses with enhanced graphics, a more comfortable design, and improved processing power. Its wireless VR experience remains unmatched, offering a wide range of games and applications. The upgraded tracking system enhances immersion, while the refined controllers provide precise and responsive interactions. However, the battery life could see improvement, and the device's premium features come with a higher price tag. Overall, the Oculus Quest 3 delivers a compelling VR experience for enthusiasts, though the cost may be a consideration for some.

I got the original quest at launch but skipped out on the quest two because i felt that the advancements were not worth losing the oled. even though the quest 3 is still lcd, i didnt want to miss out on another generation so I bought this at launch as well. It is a night and day difference from my earlier model in terms of resolution, framerate, FOV and the graphics themselves. I dont even miss the oled, not even a little bit. I also have to say, while i was skeptical about ar, thinking it would be super gimmicky. but what i wasnt anticipating was how the AR improved the whole experience of using the device. being able to see your surrounding while going through the menus and getting situated feels like a generational leap on its own. gone are the days of peering through the gap at the bottom of the screen to see my surroundings. it seems small but its one of those things that you just cant go back from. All in all I love this device and cant wait to see what new experineces are in store for me. If i had to give one critisism, its that out of the box it is not very comfortable. i got the elite strap as well, and currently have a bobo m3 on the way so i can see which i like better. it would have been nice to have a better option out of the box, but i love everything else about it so much that this issue does not make me want to drop the rating by a star - and that says a lot.

Meta Quest 3 is an absolute game-changer in the world of virtual reality. From the moment I put on the headset, I was transported to a whole new dimension of immersive experiences. The graphics are stunning, providing lifelike visuals that make you forget you're in a virtual world. The freedom of movement and intuitive controls add a level of realism that's unmatched. One of the standout features of Meta Quest 3 is its expansive library of games and experiences. Whether you're into action-packed adventures, mind-bending puzzles, or simply want to explore breathtaking virtual landscapes, there's something for everyone. The variety of content ensures that you'll never run out of things to do. The Quest 3's comfort and ergonomics are top-notch. It's lightweight and snug, allowing for hours of gameplay without discomfort. The battery life is impressive, so you can fully immerse yourself in the virtual world without constant interruptions. Moreover, the Meta Quest 3's social features take VR to a whole new level. Connecting with friends, both near and far, is a breeze, and multiplayer experiences are incredibly engaging. In summary, Meta Quest 3 is a VR masterpiece that delivers on all fronts—graphics, content, comfort, and social integration. It's a must-have for anyone looking to take their VR experience to the next level. I can't recommend it highly enough!

If your new to quest or if you are just upgrading to the meta quest 3 it is definitely worth it, I have played the quest 3 with multiple games for a few weeks now and everything runs a lot quicker and smoother than on the quest 2, also the new controllers for the quest 3 are a vast improvement over the quest 2 controllers as they have no sensor ring in the way, certain games have you put your hands together to do certain actions and not having the rings in the way to accidentally hit them together is very nice. Lastly I would say the quest 3 fits a lot more comfortably on your face, as it is closer to your face it’s distributes the weight more evenly so it’s not pulling on your head so you don’t feel like you have to over strap the headstrap which creates headaches for me on the quest 2 so I definitely give this 5 stars for comfortability and performance over the quest 2 also the new mixed reality mode is amazing and blows my mind I can’t wait to see what more they do with it

Best VR, and now AR Bang for the Buck

This headset continues Meta's tradition of binging the best VR experience for the buck by far. After coming from the Quest 2, the lens clarity is a monster leap froward, and gone are the god rays and other artifacts that plagued the previous headsets with the fresnel lenses. The resolution also was heavily improved upon as well as a modest upgrade to the field of view. You can really tell the difference when streaming, which now has better decoding with the new AV1 format. The streaming experience improved so much, that it's almost as good as playing on a wired headset. The tradeoff for wireless vs wired is now an easy choice! I was very impressed with the on-board speakers as well as they were very loud considering the formfactor, and I don't find myself putting on separate headphones nearly as often. My only gripe is that the battery life is short, but that's nitpicking at this point. Like the early days of VR, the AR/XR experiences are minimal and feel like tech demos, but the experiences themselves are very impressive, and I can't wait to see what future apps we get to experience. It's certainly pricey, but considering all the improvements we have received, the free $50 game, and even having XR out of the box, I think the price is well worth it!

My review of the Quest 3 is coming from the perspective of someone who uses primarily PCVR setups. That said, I've hung up my Vive Pro 2. It is hard to even begin this review as there are simply so many improvements with this. Comfort - The device is extremely light. You can use this for hours and not be bothered by its weight. Its also much less cumbersome. You still notice its there, but I don't feel like its inhibiting you. That said, the default headstrap on this thing is atroscious. I can't believe that the designers behind this created such an amazing device and marred it with that headstrap. If you do buy this device, upgrade to the Elite strap. The stock strap is uncomfortable, pinches your hair and doesn't support the device very well. Performance - It does phenomenally. Again, this is from a PCVR experience. I use it primarily via Air Link, and it does so at a high enough resolution that I don't notice any screendoor effects, latency is almost nonexistent and its not dropping resolution to unsatisfactory levels. Works great in almost everything I've played with it (Robo recall crashes with it though). Using it standalone, I've played only Beat Saber and can say it feels much better than what I experienced on the Quest 2 (only used it a handful of times). It feels like it tracks your movement much better, resulting in a more accurate gameplay session. My PC is using a 4090, so even with the increased resolution of this device I haven't had any issues with performance. For lower tier GPUs though I cannot say. The Passthrough on this is AMAZING. I haven't played many AR games or used many applications, but my experience so far has been great. It was able to very accurately lay out the bounds of my room, and within a few minutes I was shooting little puffballs that had invaded my house. I look forward to trying more AR games. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is the comfort level of the device. I feel the stock strap is so bad that it shouldn't have come with it. I'd much rather have the price increased and it shipped with the elite strap.

I updated to the quest 3 from a quest 1 and it was worth it. Every single aspect about this headset is amazing. The graphics, the loading time, the comfort. But if i had to complain it would be about the battery life. The quest 3 has a very sucky battery life but that can be fixed just by a elite head strap with a battery pack.

Bought this for my teen. His first reaction was how much more comfortable it is compared to the older oculus we have. Its lighter and not as bulky as the older model. I'm upgrading from a Quest 1, so this a huge upgrade for me. Pros: The resolution is an order of magnitude higher and controllers are much more sleek without the IR rings. Graphics are much sharper and you can feel the performance upgrade. The headset is also a bit thinner, so it fits in a carrying case better. Cons: Battery life is significantly shorter. I'm getting just under two hours of game play. My Quest 1 could do almost three hours. Overall, definitely worth upgrading from the Quest 1!

I purchased this as an upgrade from the valve index, immediately you could notice the increased clarity of the lenses compared to the index, and noticed how light this headset is. For a wireless PC VR headset this thing works great using virtual desktop, flawless performance 90 percent of the time and that's due to my router being 10 years old. The color pass through is amazing, the only downside of this headset is even plugged into my PC the battery only lasts about 3-4 hours.

The Meta Quest 3 quickly became my go-to VR headset. Playing Meta Horizon Worlds is super immersive and social, and Bigscreen makes watching movies or working in VR surprisingly enjoyable. Connecting to Steam VR expands the game library with great graphics and smooth performance. The headset is comfortable and the visuals are noticeably sharper than previous models. My only complaints are that the battery life could be better for longer sessions, and the controllers sometimes lose tracking in fast-paced moments. Still, overall it’s a solid upgrade and well worth it.

I upgraded from Quest 2 and the biggest upgrade are the lenses, the graphics are slightly better. I only use the Quest 3 for PCVR, specifically to play flight simulators. The battery doesn't last a long, but you can use it for several hours with a high wattage battery pack, I use a 65W 20000mah and it works great.
