Better picture quality but system is held back by the lack of not being able to upgrade the storage. Aside from improved resolution the ergonomics and adjustability have improved a lot from previous versions. While it is a slight step up from the quest 2 it was not enough to justify the price jump.

The Meta Quest 3 has completely exceeded my expectations. The image quality is stunning, with sharper graphics and vibrant colors that make the experience incredibly immersive. The new design is lighter and more comfortable, allowing for longer play sessions without fatigue. The controller tracking is extremely accurate and responsive, which greatly enhances gameplay for any type of app or game. The full-color passthrough is a huge upgrade, letting you interact with your surroundings without removing the headset. Best of all, you don’t need cables or a high-end PC to enjoy it, but if you connect it to one, it runs high-quality VR games perfectly. Without a doubt, it’s the best VR option on the market right now.

This is a nice upgrade over the Quest 2. The color passthrough makes it worth the upgrade alone. AR is relly cool once you se it working. In VR mode I notice the higher resolution and bettter lenses right away.

Huge upgrade from Quest 2. Passthrough is lots of fun, but needs more software to make it a game changer. Despite what others may say, the graphical capabilities of quest 3 are MUCH improved over 2. Its faster, better resolution, and looks better, even without game updates.. but the Quest 3 can handle higher quality games. The biggest issue with Quest 3 is the same as Quest 2.. for now. Lack of software. However, Assassins Creed, Resident Evil, Vampire Bloodlines, Arizona Sunshine two, etc. are coming and with its increased capabilties, will make the Quest quite a contender. For me, the best part of quest is using this as a party thing. I stream to my TV and let my friends play while we watch. This is even better for that, streaming is quick and crisp - and the strap and headset fit people so much better without sliding around.

The Quest 3 is definitely a worthy upgrade over the Quest 2. Resolution is amazing, tracking is great like 99% of the time, and overall is a comfortable headset. The only thing is its a battery monster and an external battery pack is essential to play for long periods of time. It only gets an hour and a half playing something easy like VRChat.

As for the product itself, it is pretty great. I understand these products are constantly evolving but the Quest 3 is definitely worth the value. Having played the Quest 2, the graphics are close to double an improvement if not more (I'm basing this off personal interpretation rather than specs) and the ability to scan the room makes things very easy. Battery life could last longer but there are plenty of options to expand. I'm hopeful to see what the future holds with this technology. With that said, games are plentiful but often short and not as much true content as games from consoles.

I use the Quest 3 for a virtual desktop using Immersed. I'm a developer/data scientist and I am much more productive with 2 or 3 screens. The virtual desktop capability of the Quest 3 with Immersed clears the clutter and gives me the screens I need to be productive without all the clutter of a real multi-screen desktop. I tried this with my Quest 2 and the clarity wasn't sufficient, but the Quest 3's improved graphics gives great clarity to my virtual desktops, even when they are at 4K resolution. The better balance of the headset also means I can work longer virtually without any strain on my head/neck.

The difference in the Occulus 2 vs 3, to me is the lens and the graphic features! The graphics are definately more defines making you feel as if you are apart of the actual game. Cons is the Occulus updates every time I turn the device off or charge it. There appears to be glitches in the Bobbery Bay Fishing game as Im constantly having to close the world, restart the device and re-enter the world to play. Unfortunately, you may have to do this 2 or 3x before the games works properly. Usually, by the time the device restarts a few times, Ive lost interest in playing. The battery life only last about 1.5hrs [if your lucky]. If you're a big gamer, I recommend upgrading the headset to one that has an additional battery pack. Another con is even when you turn the device off, it continues to drain the battery so if ypu go a day without playing, the device will be dead or close to dying when your ready to play. Overall, I give it an ok.

The quest 3 is a step up from the quest 2 and Quest 3s as it has pancake lenses. This makes a wider field of view and images clearer and much sharper. The resolution is 2064 x 2208 vs 1832 x 1920 for the Quest 3s and Quest 2. The image quality alone is worth the upgrade. Quest 3 has mixed reality games that the Quest 2 doesn’t. It’s amazing to see zombies or puffians invading your living space! They can hide behind furniture but because you can see everything in your room there’s no risk of punching a lamp or wall or kicking the dog. You can get the Xbox game pass too and play games on the Quest 3. You will need a good internet connection though. Overall the Quest 3 is great, it has an extensive library and you can even use Link for I play games on Steam.

Face it, there is no comparison in resolution to the Apple Vision Pro, but this headset is really very good and a far better value at 1/7 the price! Compare what each can actually do, and the Quest 3 is a clear winner, especially for games, integrating both the option to run native Android based applications from the Meta store, to sideloaded content from elsewhere, as well as PC linked VR titles such as Half-Life Alix, Warthunder, and countless other popular PC games, or you can just work on your PC without a monitor connected at all. I would not call the Quest 3 the last greatest VR headset by any means, but the value and performance you get at this price is simply unbeatable.

So far the Quest 3 has been amazing. I upgraded from the original Oculus Rift, couldn't be happier. The technology gas advanced so much in the last 7 years is amazing. Too, not being constrained by the stationery sensors that the Rift used is amazing. My son amd I used this exclusively for PC VR. The graphics resolution and up to 120hz refresh rate using the link cable is great, lightyears ahead of the Rift. The redesigned hand controls with haptic feedback and full color pass through work great as well. The camera pass through is a little blurred making sone things hard to read, but it's plenty good enough if you need to liok at your cellphone or a TV screen for whatever reason while you are wearing the headset. I picked up mine for $425 while it was on sale. I did a lot of comparisons between other offerings in the PC VR space at present, even considered waiting for the upcoming Valve "Deckard"... but, I couldn't be happier. Graphics and features are great, you can't go wrong even if you pay full price at $500 relative to the competition in the $1000 to $1500 price range. It works great for PC VR and as a stand aline headset as well. It also fully integrated Quest Link and Steam VR with a simple app download to the headset. I only got the 128GB version of this headset because all the games we play are stored and streamed from the PC, so, if you are doing PC VR primarily, no jeed to buy the more expensive version of the Quest 3 with more storage space since you won't be storing games on the headset. Make sure to read up on the competition to the Quest 3, you will quickly see it's the best deal for the money, and you get many of the same features of the $1,000+ headsets. One last thing, and pretty much the only downside, the included head strap sucks. Buy yourself an adjustable headset strap. Amazon just happened to have a sale on the nice adjustable one that normally costs $50 for $19.99, it's the ZyberVR headstrap on Amazon. And, buy the authentic Quest 3 link cable even though it's $80. I did a lot of research into the link cable, you can find cheaper ones, but apparently there are sometimes compatibility and stability issues with the cheaper cables. All in between the Quest 3, authentic link cable and an adjustable headstrap, you are looking at about $600, but the Quest 3 is totally worth it!

I give this a 4.5/5 stars. The Quest 3 (Q3) is an upgrade over the Quest 2 (Q2), plus all of your games will transfer over and are playable on the Q3 (assuming they’re all connected to the same FB/Meta account). My favorite feature on the Q3, outside of the performance increase, is the pass through capability. Some games such as Thrill of the Fight can be played in pass through, which is awesome. However, pass through is NOT as clear as people advertise online. It is an improvement over the Q2 by a mile, but it is grainy/fuzzy. Adjusting the lighting can help with this, but it isn’t as clear as some suggest. The battery life seems to have downgraded some, which is understandable considering the performance increase. The controllers are also substantially better than the Q2’s. They feel lighter and it’s nice to not have the round top to them. However, I wish my Q2’s Kiwi head strap would fit on the Q3, but because of the charging port being on one of the head strap bars, it will not fit. Overall, the Q3 is an improvement and I think it’s worth the upgrade. I think the price should be a little lower, but it’ll feel more worth the money once more games become optimized for the Q3 and utilize pass through.

I absolutely love this VR headset! This is my first VR device and I am addicted. Feels like walking through a portal and the entire world around you changes. Graphics are amazing! Touch and movement detection is incredible, and headset is very comfortable. I have lost 10 lbs in 25 days doing VR exercise games it’s an insane , but FUN workout. You can play others online in many games, and the physics is very accurate. One of the best purchases Ive ever made. You will want the silicone headset interface if you sweat a lot working out because it does not absorb moisture, is comfortable, and very easy to clean. I seriously can’t wait to see what the future of VR holds if it’s already this great!

Great vr headset The resolution and frame rate increases are pleasantly noticeable The new passthrough is an improvement but still not as clear as one would think. Mixed reality is cool but I personally don't think it warrants the price jump especially with the short battery life and poor head strap design, But overall a great vr experience :)

I’ve owned the Quest 1 for a few years and also Quest 2 briefly before handing it over to my brother because the static IPD did not suit me at all and the Quest 3 is a great upgrade over both. The pancake lens, increased screen resolution, wide IPD range and upgraded processing combined offer an instantly noticeable improvement. Full-color passthrough is also a welcome addition although I don’t think its a perfect MR solution just yet. I also owned the Quest Pro for a week before returning it - again due to poor IPD range - and the Quest 3 delivers on-par quality (sans the eye tracking which currently seems like more of a gimmick for gaming applications anyway) at a much better price point. All-in-all, I believe this is the go-to headset for standalone VR and PCVR gaming.

Its a Great upgrade from the quest 1 and 2. Passthrough is alright but a lil grainy. Hand tracking is amazing. The controllers are the best they’ve been with no more ring on the top of the controller a lot like the Oculus Pro controllers. Quest 3 is a bit more comfortable than both 1 and 2 but might still buy the elite strap. Battery is a lil underwhelming with probably only under two hours of gameplay. The new 3D audio on the headset is surprisingly really good and loud. Although the resolution is higher and it uses pancake lenses the clarity is actually pretty amazing, almost pcvr clarity. There just isn’t many quest 3 games optimized for it so a lot of games are still with quest 2 graphics. IPD slider is back which is great. A little bit better field of view , nothing crazy but there is a increase. Only problems would be a lot of features they advertised is still not out it. They are supposedly gonna release in the coming year but its kinda lame we gotta wait for some features advertised on the quest 3. Also the increase in price is a lil duanting. 400 would’ve been perfect for what this headset gives especially the amount games there is optimized for this thing i would probably wait for a price drop.

Leaps and bounds above the quest 2 the differences are immense. First of all, this is a headset you can wear for hours, the weight distribution is far better than that on the quest 2 so it is a snug fit, the pass through is still grainy but works surprisingly well and the visuals are head and shoulders above the quest 2. It’s still early in terms of apps so you don’t have to rush an upgrade but it is a heap better, the handtracking is surprisingly good too. Headset itself is less bulky, the new lenses look amazing, the ONLY issue I have is that there isn't much for content right now but it's in the works

This headset has some issues, but they can be solved rather easily. Do yourself a favor and get a comfort head strap. It makes the strain on your face much less, almost none. I didn't have a quest 2 to compare to but the mixed reality on the quest 3 blew me away the first time I used it. I mainly play PCVR with my quest but the standalone games I have run SO WELL. This headset is able to run into the radius which is one of my favorite VR titles that also happens to be super graphically demanding about as well as PCVR. (I have an RTX 3060 TI)
